Hiruzen took a deep breath and said, "Tatsuya, I have looked into your clan information. I found some weird patterns in the data, like your clan. In the early Warring States period, there was no evidence that a clan named Washuu ever existed, and then out of nowhere, an incident made your clan come to the limelight.
There started a wierd chain of missing incidents in the region of land of whirlpool where the then Uzumaki clan resided, upon investigation, it was found that a guy with tentacles on his back was committing cannibalism meaning he was kidnapping people to eat them, several senju clan members went to neutralize him but the man was so insanely strong that 15 senju jonins could only keep him at bay. The members of the Uzumaki clan were only able to prevent the man from killing the Senju members.
But then, hearing the huge commotion, a group of five people appeared and captured him easily, all having weird extensions on their backs like the Kaguya clan has bone extensions; they apologized for the disturbance their rogue member had caused and even formed an alliance with the Uzumaki and Senju clans, impressed by their strength. It turns out that the man was an outcast in the clan who was born without Chakra and ate his kind for sustenance.
The clan was reclusive but had quite a good number of elite jonin-level ninjas and even four Kage level shinobis but the fact that they somehow mysteriously disappeared from that land without any trace is still a mystery, and there has been no news of how that clan came to be and how they disappeared. All those who have tried to enter their land to investigate have all died without exception. The land is surrounded by a strange, thick red mist; whoever breathes it develops a tumor on their body, which in a few minutes turns them into grotesque monsters who attack indiscriminately. Thousands of ninjas have died trying to enter that land in greed of the clans' techniques, which were rumored to be able to make people live for 200-300 years, or that the mist is a barrier technique, but those are still just rumors.
Your mission is to infiltrate that forbidden land and gather as much information as you can on that clan. Beware, this mission will only start after you become a chunin, and you will be all alone in this mission. You can take your cousin on this mission, but I don't recommend it, as many transformed monsters roam that land in that dense mist. This is an SS-level mission, as your death is certain should you be lenient during this duration.
Is the mission clear, or do you have any questions? You can take your time, as this mission is too risky, and I have decided that after the chunin exam, you will officially be a part of Anbu, but the deployment is temporary; you may be called back to be a normal ninja if your performance is not satisfactory or if you wish to withdraw."
Tatsuya kept quiet and processed the information, which was giving him a nagging feeling that things were not as simple as they looked like something complex was going on in this world, many things have got him baffled like Mikoto or that Danzo has still not approached him despite him having no backing and now this has forced him to look in another direction like another transmigrator or an anomaly which was never supposed to exist like Mikoto dying in the third ninja war or a clan that came out of nowhere and disrupted the spectrum of the timeline where events unfolded in a way they shouldn't have.
"System, what do you think is happening?"
*Host, it depends, like it could be a transmigrator or the butterfly effect created by the world to support your evolution, which is quite far-fetched, as the will of the world affecting the past is unheard of but not impossible. Host, the possibilities are endless; we can't make any hypotheses right now; we need more information.*
" Lord Third, when did my clan disappear, and was there any record left behind by them?"
"They disappeared at the start of the second great ninja war, when the Uzumaki clan was annihilated. They seem to have disappeared in the mist. It is said that an experiment of theirs failed, which caused the clan to be wiped out. We have a book which was recovered in the Uzumaki ruins, and the book has remained sealed ever since it was discovered."
"Ok, can I have the book that was found and any other information about my clan, like any characteristics, skills, or specialties, or anything useful for the mission?"
"You can have the book; it is useless for us, and it may have your clan's legacy or whatever. You will get a scroll that has all the information we know about your clan and the land they reside on, which apparently is called 'The Land of Death'. Oh, by the way, how is that spirit doing after you sealed it? Have you found it difficult to control her, or has she been happy with her situation?"
"I would say she is pretty good with her situation, like she is happy. I do check on her to make sure she is comfortable, and the powers she has are difficult to explain. I mean, if she wishes to use her power, I can't stop her from doing so, but she can't do it to the full extent, like I have sealed her upper limit, and I can use some of her powers, like the bare minimum. She is a spirit that is itself very mysterious, and I am still figuring out how her powers work. So, all in all, she is not a threat provided she doesn't go berserk."
"I see, then I shall tell the Anbu to cease monitoring her from now, and I hope you can keep her in check. What about the Ackermann? Is she fine? Has she shown any aggression or any dissatisfaction with you or the village?"
"No, she has been quite obedient and loyal towards me, like I have tested her if she would betray me in a moment of weakness or vulnerability, but she has been faithful, someone whom I can trust my back with. I also wanted to propose making her an official ninja student at the academy so she can graduate as a ninja and join a squad."
"I understand, it is good so far, I guess. I will consider your proposal about her and Tatsuya. You are the No. 1 genius of our village, so please keep in mind that all actions you take will have an impact on both your group and the village's reputation, so be careful how you act towards others."
*Host, he must be talking about the time you demolished a shop because the shopkeeper insulted Naruto.*
"I understand, but how I act depends on how others treat my companions; they are my bottom line, and if someone dares to insult or harm them, I swear I will rain hellstorm."Saying this, eight kagunes sprouted from his back, and his eyes turned blue-white; a strange chill spread throughout the office, making even the Anbu in shadows shiver slightly.
5 Anbu members appeared around Tatsuya, kunai in hand, cautiously watching him for any movement. Hiruzen waved his hand, and the Anbu disappeared. He looked deeply at Tatsuya and then nodded, "Fair enough, companions are important not only on the battlefield but also in times of need when we are down. I will have the things sent; you can go now."
Tatsuya nodded and left the office. After he left, an Anbu appeared in front of Hiruzen. He had silver hair and lazy eyes, that was all visible under the mask.
"Kakashi, what do you think of him?"
"That killing intent is abnormal. If he were also an elite jonin, I may not be able to defeat him."
Hiruzen chuckled softly, Kakashi, you underestimate yourself; you are one of the strongest combatants of the village."Kakashi shrugged as he didn't care at all. Anyway, he still has a book to read; hopefully Jiraya publishes another volume soon.
