It has been three years since Lilly and Ash had been to the capital Dan sat hands on his cheek on the steps leading to the training court watching Flynn and Areia go at it. This started about two years ago for some reason Flynn had taken a keen interest in training Areia. Though from what Dan could tell from the years of training Areia hadn't managed to hit him yet she was still improving.
Areia sprinted towards Flynn she stopped short as Flynn caught her by the hair and threw her across the yard, she crashed and destroyed the dummies that tried to break her fall, she got up almost instantly and dashed towards Flynn again she stopped short some pases away from him and started dashing round the yard she did flips and somersaults, she landed on all fours behind Flynn and wanted to attack, she narrowly dodged a hand that almost grabbed her by the face, she flattened herself to the ground as the hand swooshed past, Flynn was already on her, with both her knees and hands she lunched herself high into the air trying to avoid Flynn, it would had worked had Flynn not caught her by the ankle and dangled her upside down.
She's strong, Flynn thought for an eleven year old she's strong maybe overpowered. She dodged my attack mid sprint and her movements are unpredictable and flexible, is she adapting to a self taught style?. But the problem is that she's a kid and no matter how strong they are at first she bound to hit a wall cause of her age soon and that's the honestly and only truth, there's only so far you can push a kid after all. I'd just let her go an-, the thought was interrupted by a heavy blow on the chin. Areia has hit him with her feet hard enough for the shockwave to send some dummies flying, she twisted her ankle still in his grasp and delivered a heavy kick to the side of Flynn's head the ground boomed from the loud impact.
Whoa, that was nice, came Flynn, he let her go and dusted his hair, two solid blows that's quite the feat.
Yet here you are completely unharmed like I hit a brick wall, Areia thought, what a monster, that attack would have shattered any man's skull and probably leave an experienced fighter unconscious.
How long are you gonna keep holding me perv, Areia asked looking at Flynn coldly.Flynn let go of her she landed on her feet and in the same Instant she swung her other foot towards Flynn's head she stopped short the wind from the kick rippled through the yard.
You would break your leg if you keep trying to hit me, Flynn said calmly, you don't need to worry about defeating me but you are strong yeah really strong, I doubt haki would have an easy time defeating you again.
Areia put her foot down at these words, Haki, so that's the name of the woman that caught me, Areia thought, that purple rough looking demi human was strong and she seemed a bit crazy and unhinged too, but I guess that's just her personality, I'm sure she'd still beat me right now though at the very least it wouldn't be as easy as when she overpowered me the first time.
Is it finally my turn came, Dan coming from the stairs.
No it's not, replied Flynn.
Why don't you want me fighting, Dan continued calmly, See Areia is same age as me why is she any different, is it cause she's stronger.
No it's not that, Flynn said scratching his head, your mum would kill me if she catches me fighting you.
Well I heard she's away for a while so I doubt she'll be able to find out if you didn't tell her yourself, Dan said moving to the side and picking up a dummy. Also where does mum even go anyways?
The next time you see her you could always ask her yourself, I'm not in a position to discuss that info, Flynn said clearly nervous.
It just struck me, Areia thought, does Dan knows his mum is a dragon? And if he doesn't know that means he doesn't know he's a hybrid either.
Lizzy had been to the horde's nest lots of times but she always gets lost whenever she visits. The dragon kingdom was in a pocket dimension different from the world where the other creatures exist. The world was like a massive Boulder with lots and lots of holes in it. It was big possibly bigger than earth that was already considerably larger than our earth as we know it. Lizzy flew in her massive bat like wings flapping hard as she descends into one of the holes she arrived in a dark clearing devoid of light.
I don't think I've been here before, Lizzy said thoughtfully, why is the dragon nest always so big. Ah, fuck it, I'd just search everywhere, she took off with a bang that shook the room.
Ah finally, Lizzy laughed. Dad I'm back, the room was golden and there seemed to be gold coins and golden objects covering each and every corner of the place and on top a huge pile of gold sat a massive dragon. It scales were oxblood and a massive wings that seems like if unfolded would cover the entire room, it opened it's golden eyes with menancing slits.
How many times have I told you to not appear before me in your human form, boomed the Dragon.
Oh! You're still sore about that, Lizzy scoffed, is that the greeting I get after making time to come here? Besides I'm human now and I'm not taking that form except for Arthur get it, Lizzy winked. Where's mum by the way?
She's in the fourty seventh wing, sighed yeh Dragon she and the other female dragons are having some sort of meeting.
That's so like her, giggled Lizzy, so where's Bora?
He's in the human world he says he wants to explore your world for the time being, he should be back soon, said the dragon. You seem awfully chatty with me today, just spit it out if it's about your kid save your breath I already know about him.
Oh! Well that's makes things easy, said Lizzy, I was looking things up about hybrids in the past and couldn't find one at least one that's from a human and a dragon so I came to ask is Dan the first Hybrid since the beginning.
What a stupid thing to ask, scoffed the dragon. We the dragons were never supposed to fall or mate with any other race apart from our own, the very concept of liking them isn't supposed to be in our DNA you're the first in our history to have fallen for a man so of course your kid is the first.
Damn that's a real bummer, Lizzy said subconsciously levitating off her feet and slowly hovering around the room. I was thinking of ways to teach him magic or some defense spell Incase need be but his magic doesn't seem to follow laws from this world or at least from our current knowledge, ever since he blew up that island I could tell that much besides he has not manifested any magic since, Lizzy landed and sat on her father's head, it was like it was a fluke even when I showed him magic on the night of the meteor shower he didn't seem to manifest any.
The Sphere is moving, the dragon said.
Wait the sphere? Why? Lizzy asked
Are you really asking me that? Continued the dragon. During my long life I've only seen the Sphere move once and it was when you were born if it's moving again means it's trying to correct a certain error. Take care of your son girl that boy has a lot of misfortune ahead of him.
For the first time Lizzy seemed calm.
You're strong girl, said the dragon probably even stronger than me but like me you can't protect everything if the sphere has a target, Kill the boy and save countless lives and the world the trouble or throw the world into chaos.
Speak of this again and I'll destroy half the dragon realm, Lizzy stated, she was calm but her father could sense she was extremely angry at his words.
No doubt she could do it, thought the dragon but Lizzy is a pacifist she wouldn't be violent until she deemed it necessary but the threat she made proves she knows what I'm talking about is the only logical solution.
Lizzy hopped from his head and walked a few paces not facing him, I originally came to tell you that if anything happens I'd be on my family's side even if it's a war against the dragons so pls don't try and harm my boy there was a loud bang and Lizzy was gone bursting through a wall in a flash.
As impulsive as ever, but I've never seen you look like that, the dragon sighed.
There was a loud boom on the training ground, Areia quickly grabbed Dan and sprinted from the yard leaving Flynn behind, she stopped after deeming the gap she had given safe enough, she put Dan down and stood beside him, she spotted Lizzy and stood in front of Dan.
Master,stay behind me, Areia said calmly.
Lizzy walked out of the massive crater now in the yard hands held up high bags giggling.
Dan, Areia. I brought cakes, she laughed
Oh you're here too Flynn? No cakes for you Incase you're wondering,go get yours if you're hungry, she said clutching the bags to her chest.
What was that just now, thought Areia a drop of sweat fell from her face. It was only for a split second but Lizzy looked like she would have ripped the nearest thing that pissed her off to pieces. If I saw that only means Flynn saw it too, did something happen on her outing?
I'm not even gonna tell you to fix the court, Flynn whispered to Lizzy I know you can afford it but what made you so mad you crashed so fast and hard into the yard? You could have hurt the kids Lizzy.
My bad, Lizzy said softly scratching her right elbow nervously, was my expression a give away? She asked looking at Flynn.
It was only for a split second but I think you gave the same look as you did when you burnt that cultist to death a while ago, Flynn said flatly.
In other words I looked terrible, Lizzy scoffed.

Yh, Lizzy said looking at her feet clearly bothered, I'm fine now though as soon as I saw Dan, I mean he kind of looks like his father.
Make payment for the training court later, sighed Flynn, also what flavor of cakes do you have there?
Lizzy smirks, they're rich chocolate cakes and they're limited and I just happened to grab some, three in particular I'm an exception seeing as I'm the queen, Lizzy winked, Also still no cake for you. As she said this she dashed off to meet Dan and Areia. Let's have a little cake feast now shall we.
They Sat at the grass field and for a while all that could be heard were the soft munching of cakes.
Mum what happened to Ash and Lilly, Dan asked between bites.
Them. From what I heard from Amber they went to an academy for nobles in the North, I don't remember the name of the academy but they're currently honing their skills and etiquette there, replied Lizzy.
How come we're not going to an academy? continued Dan.
Do you really have to ask that, scoffed Lizzy, you're smarter than most kids your age without even going to one, not only that you learnt a whole language on your own a feat I've not seen any kid do so far, I'd be a waste to send you there seeing as you're already smart probably smarter than me, Lizzy mumbled the last part. I doubt you'd see them for a while.
Mum how long do you think this grass field go? Dan asked looking around.
What I know for sure is that it's not infinite if that's what you're wondering, it's definitely big...but my mana hit a wall somewhere.
Areia looked around, if her mana can fill this place, just what kind of monster is she? Thought Areia, I'm masters guard and if by some unfortunate incident I'm forced to protect Dan against the occupants of Shula I'd need to know how they scale but I can't seem to measure them.
Lizzy got up and stretched, not using my wings for a long time starts making em uncomfortable and extremely sore on my shoulders, time for another magic trick Dan, Lizzy said smiling sweetly. A massive pair of red bat like wings sprouted from her back and seemed to fill the sky, compared to Lizzy's stature the wings were massive.
Whoa, that feels good, laughed Lizzy, with a massive flap of the wings she took off she lopped the sky for a while then swooped down.
Come on Dan, she yelled excitedly as she extended her hand for her son to grab hold, I'll show you how it feels to soar the sky.
Would you like to come along too Areia, I'm pretty sure I could carry the two of you in this form, Lizzy said.
No , I rather watch, I like my feet on the ground, came Areia as she stared at Dan's unfinished piece of cake.
So stiff, came Lizzy, well your loss, come on Dan,she grabbed his arm and took off high in to the sky.
Tell me if your arm is starting to hurt, Dan, since I'm using wings I have limited options on how I can carry you and I can't give you the princess carry either since I wanna see how far this fake sky goes, sp tell me if your arm is aching and I'll go back down instantly, smiled Lizzy.
Dan looked at the constantly shrinking field as they asended, but for some reason he wasn't afraid of the height he could make out Areia's almost blurry figure from the distance and knew a fall from this height would be a death sentence for him, but he was with his mum, she wouldn't let him fall, she protective like that.
During the flight Lizzy was constantly making remarks about how the sky was quite bigger than she thought that they'd should have reached the end after at least a minute but it's been three minutes since take off with no end or barrier in sight, but Dan was lost in thought.
Mum is not normal, he thought, I mean I've seen her uproot trees with her hands, joggle boulders like they were pebbles, and from the meteor shower, I saw her control huge amount of flames. I always thought that was normal for everyone that that's how all humans are, but dad isn't like that and from the festival the people there were not as strong as mum, at least I saw about a dozen people struggling to push crates and other heavy stuff, also from what I've heard and the sizes of those flames she showed me could only be possible for a powerful and experienced person, cause out of all the elements flame is the hardest to control and consumes more mana, since it's mostly conjured from nothing.Also there's Areia and Flynn. I knew Areia wasn't your everyday kid from the start when I approached her in the court, but my suspicion was solidified after the fight with Lilly and the countless times she's saved me from minor accidents and collision with Incase reflexes, and Flynn, I don't know how to describe him but I feel like Flynn and Areia had been through something that they're not tell me, as far as I know the only normal person so far is dad and I don't get to see him a lot since he's the king and all...
His thought was Interrupted by lizzy's scream of joy, we've finally reached the top Dan!, it's a lot boring than I expected, like a wallpaper of some sort I expected something more, is your arm alright Dan?
Yeah, it's not aching, I could I could go another mile of needs be, answered Dan.
Damn this place really looks endless doesn't it? I mean look at that view, Lizzy said softly.
It was a really beautiful scene,Dan thought no visible end in sight all that could be seen from their position so high up was the endless colour of light green.
Let's head back down now, I think my magic trick is starting to wear off, came Lizzy. Hang on tight.
Without waiting for Dan to answer, Lizzy swerved and descended with great speed, it didn't take a second before they we're back on the ground. Dan was stunned not cause of shock of the speed but by the fact that Lizzy had moved too fast for Dan's reaction to keep up.
Well that was fun wasn't it? Lizzy asked as her wings grew blurry and disappeared.
Yeah it was, Dan affirmed.
Oh I forgot, damn I really am stupid, Lizzy said holding her head, she places her hand in her pocket and brought out a small necklace and a ring, these are for you Dan.
The necklace summons me incase you're in trouble and the ring is connected to my nest....um..I mean vault. Not even my Dad knows where it is, except Arthur tho, incase you're in any sort or trouble you could use the money it should last anyone a lifetime.
Immediately Dan put the ring and necklace it on they disappeared slowly as if merging with his skin and soon it was like he hadn't put them on at all.
Don't worry about knowing how to use the ring, it should come naturally to anyone, continued Lizzy. Well let's head out shall we, I reckon we've spent almost a day in here that should be a long time in the outside world.
They all packed their share of wrappers and leftovers of their cakes, Dan gave Areia the last of his and they proceeded to leave the space.
