Realising this, Nadia looked at him with something soft and wondering in her eyes.
"You did all of that...just to make them remember where it all began."
She murmured, voice low and full of quiet awe.
"To remind them who gave them the power to rule in the first place."
Mika glanced at her, then gave a small, almost sheepish shrug as he leaned back in his chair.
"That's one reason." He admitted. "If we kept going the way things were, they would keep trying to get ahead of you, pushing unnecessary demands and forgetting their place."
"As much as I appreciate your patience and your passive approach, sometimes you have to make things crystal clear—even if it offends the other parties."
He reached up and gently caressed her cheek in a playful, affectionate manner, treating her like a beloved pet cat in that moment.
Nadia didn't mind at all; she leaned into the touch, eyes half-lidded with quiet contentment.
