Before he could process it further, Maria's voice cut in, flat and casual as she scrolled through her phone.
"Oh yeah." She said, tilting the screen slightly. "I heard you came to class with one of the Battle Angels daughters today."
Her tone wasn't accusing, just faintly amused, as if she were observing a piece of gossip she already knew would be good.
"The school forum is absolutely popping off right now. Hate threads, rage threads, comments blowing up by the second...every single one of them foaming at the mouth about how you're corrupting the holy daughter, and all of them begging the administration to kick you out. It's getting so many likes it's actually trending."
Mika let out a long sigh, running a hand down his face.
"Life is full of bastards." He muttered under his breath, sounding more tired than upset. "Do I really have nothing better to do than deal with this shit?"
Then he turned his head toward her, propping his chin lazily on his palm.
