Mika sighed then, his eyes drifting briefly toward the village before returning to her.
"Anyway...enough with the introductions. It's about time we talked about the real issue at hand."
"The real issue?" Mina tilted her head. "What issue? If there's something important to talk about, wouldn't it make more sense to speak with Grandpa? He's the leader of the village."
"That was the plan at first." Mika admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "But honestly, it's pretty clear that no matter what I say, I won't be able to get through to him, or to most of the others in the village. They've already made up their minds about me. You, on the other hand…"
His gaze softened, almost amused.
"You're much more reasonable. Easy to talk to. So I'd rather explain things to you."
The words made her heart skip. She straightened proudly.
