Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Strong or Weak

Nazan gets back home and treats himself after taking several bruises.

He hides them from his parents. Later, Kinato his father arrives home after a long day of work as a hero.

Nazan sits at the dinner table and begins eating. The room is silent until his mother finally breaks the tension.

"So, how was your first day at school?" she asks.

Nazan fakes a smile. "It was okay."

"Then how come you're hiding bruises?" Kinato suddenly says, narrowing his eyes.

He stands up and pulls back Nazan's sleeves, revealing the bruises.

"Why do you have bruises, Nazan?! What did you do?!" his mother says angrily.

"Nazan, what happened?" Kinato adds sternly.

"You have so many bruises..." Nazan's sister says softly, concerned.

"I tried summoning the dark pet," Nazan admits. "It spoke… and then it attacked me."

"Why would you summon it?!" Kinato scolds.

His mother begins scolding him nonstop, slamming utensils and making a mess of dinner.

After a while, it's morning. Nazan wakes up, groans, and throws his alarm clock across the room it doesn't break. He eats breakfast quickly and heads to school.

At school, he sees some classmates and quietly takes a seat beside a guy named Suzuki. They both wait for class to begin.

Rod and Paulo enter the room and sit behind Nazan.

When break time comes, Nazan gets a chance to talk with Suzuki.

Suzuki is a cool guy with a unique ability he can spin any part of his body like a drill, with no limits.

Rod approaches Nazan and tells him, "Your quirk is great. I think it has a lot of potential."

Soon, talk about Nazan's powers spreads around the school.

After class, as Nazan heads home, Axl approaches him and introduces himself. They walk and chat on the way home.

Back at home, Nazan remembers there's no school tomorrow. Kinato enters the room and says:

"Nazan, I'll train you tomorrow. Also, we're having a guest my former trainer."

Later that night, Nazan goes to bed. As he sleeps, he dreams...

In his dream, Nazan finds himself in a dark dimension. A shadow approaches him, whispering:

"Are you gonna do something or not?"

Nazan looks around. "Where am I?! Take me back!" he shouts.

"You're inside your mind, brat. Don't order me around," the monster says.

"Who even are you again? Dear Shadow, or something?" Nazan replies.

"I'm DARK SHADOW, brat! Don't forget my name—or I'll kill you."

"Alright, alright. Just bring me back, Dark Shadow, or you'll regret it!" Nazan snaps.

Suddenly, Dark Shadow launches at Nazan in its monstrous form. Nazan tries to block but is too late he gets slammed into a wall and starts bleeding.

Nazan punches back, but Dark Shadow dodges easily and counters with a punch that sends Nazan crashing down, unable to stand.

"I admit defeat… please don't kill me," Nazan says, giving up.

"So that's your choice? Giving up? What a great decision you could've been killed by me."

"Why did I get the worst power?" Nazan thinks, frustrated.

"I'm stronger than you, kid. You should stay in your place. You don't have the potential to tame me whether you're strong or weak."

"What do you mean? Even if I'm strong or weak, I still can't?" Nazan asks.

Suddenly, the shadow begins to vanish. The dimension starts crumbling.

"WAIT!" Nazan yells.

He jolts awake.

It's 8:47 a.m.

Nazan gets out of bed and realizes he's home alone. He sits for a moment, wondering if the dream was real. Was it truly possible to tame Dark Shadow?

He makes himself breakfast. As he eats, there's a sudden knock at the door.

He walks over, still scratching his eyes, half-asleep.

Standing outside is a tall man with long, spiky white hair and strange marks on his face.

"Huh? Who are you?" Nazan asks groggily.
