Chapter 184 - Chapter 184: Treating the Magic Plant Curse

Angulo and Essie were stunned—mediocre?

A minor curse?

This was a curse that even Angron, the Wizard Seed of Potionology from Lilith's Cottage, didn't want to touch, fearing it would consume too many resources for disproportionate returns.

Even in the Curse Formula Research Institute of the Blood Curse Court, this curse should rank highly.

Even if no wizard apprentice could crack this curse in the next five years, it would still be within reason.

After Locke went upstairs, Angulo and Essie exchanged glances, filled with doubt and uncertainty. For some reason, they felt Locke seemed different from before in ways they couldn't pinpoint.

The two immediately followed him.

Locke found the patient in his office.

Along the way, the usually active Potionology Assistants on the second floor seemed afraid of trouble finding them—each hid in their own offices, deliberately avoiding Locke, not daring to meet him.

Entering his office, Locke saw the First-Class Wizard Apprentice lying on the sickbed, his face pale. The sword orchid Magic Plant on his left hand had deeply fused with his left arm and heart due to the Magic Plant Curse.

Their Mana had intertwined, making separation impossible.

Moreover, the negative-energy Spell [Corrosive Swamp Gas] from the Swamp Pig Mountain Lord coiled around his body, further complicating the situation.

The Swamp Pig Mountain Lord was a Magical Creature at the First-Class Wizard Apprentice level.

Additionally, it possessed innate spiritual power equivalent to over 300 points of Mana. Within about five years of reaching adulthood, it would automatically form a Magic Pressure Structure around its soul.

This was an extremely troublesome Magical Creature.

Locke's mind briefly flashed through the uses of such creatures—mainly favored by Alchemists and Enchanters for their biological materials, which could be used to develop new Magic Alloys or Enchanted Items.

When the First-Class Wizard Apprentice saw Locke, he weakly said, "Potionology Master Augustine, I truly misunderstood your kindness. Not only did I fail to come on time to purchase the Lesser Emerald Potion, but I even ended up like this..."

"Do you think... there's still hope for me? Can the Lesser Emerald Potion solve my current problem? Cough... cough..."

Locke ignored him, instead frowning and ordering the Second-Class Wizard Apprentice assistant assigned to him by the clinic: "Prepare for injection and IV equipment."

"I need to administer the Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion to him."

"Did he sign the treatment loan contract?"

The assistant froze for a moment before quickly replying, "Senior Augustine, this senior has already signed the loan contract and has sufficient treatment funds."

His mind was in a daze—shouldn't it be the Bear Spirit Bile Potion?

Did the senior misname the potion?

But as a Second-Class Wizard Apprentice assistant in the clinic, he didn't dare to openly point out what he thought was Locke's slip of the tongue.

The assistant immediately turned to prepare the IV equipment.

Five minutes later, a set of IV equipment was ready beside them.

The assistant had already prepared the carrier solution needed for intravenous injection.

This carrier solution was the universal carrier solution used in the treatment center, with the base solution and stabilizer both being White Leaf Tree Sap.

After the assistant set up the infusion equipment on the right hand of this First Class Wizard Apprentice, Locke used a syringe to draw out a vial of Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion and injected it into the infusion system.

In truth, the Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion could be taken orally, but the condition of this First Class Wizard Apprentice was far too complicated. Had he arrived any later, he would have been at risk of death. Thus, Locke opted for the faster-acting method of intravenous infusion.

This was also the first time Locke had administered the Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion to a wizard, and he was waiting to see what would happen.

Truthfully, this potion had not yet passed Phase III trials and lacked a production license.

However, production licenses were primarily required for selling in Potion Shops. A Potionology Assistant using their own concoctions for personal use did not require any license—not even Phase III trials.

It was extremely common for Potionology Assistants to administer self-brewed, untested potions to dying wizards during treatment.

This practice was widespread and was also the biggest factor distinguishing the skill levels of two Potionology Assistants.

Similarly, this treatment process itself counted as a special experiment.

Locke retrieved a True Sight Crystal Ball from his Astral Ring and activated its levitation and memory-recording functions.

As the infusion progressed, the originally frail First Class Wizard Apprentice gradually regained color in his face, and his previously waning Mana began to grow active again.

Locke remained expressionless as he used a syringe to inject a vial of Royal Jelly Potion—which enhanced vitality—into the infusion system, followed by a vial of Lesser Emerald Potion.

Locke's approach was clear: first, use the Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion to strengthen the First Class Wizard Apprentice's Magic Resistance, then use the Lesser Emerald Potion to purge the Curse energy within his body, and finally, administer the Royal Jelly Potion to enhance his vitality.

By attacking from both inside and out while simultaneously reinforcing his foundation with the Royal Jelly Potion, any Curse could be expelled.

"Cough, cough, cough..." The First Class Wizard Apprentice coughed violently, expelling several black clots of blood—clots mixed with Curse energy.

The sword orchid on his left hand was rapidly undergoing a positive transformation.

At the same time, Essie and Angulo, who had just arrived, walked in and witnessed this scene. Both of their pupils contracted slightly in shock.

Essie exclaimed, "How is this possible? Just by using an infusion, the Curse on this First Class Wizard Apprentice is fading, and even the mutated Magic Plant is reverting to a benign state!"

Angulo added, "The Magic Resistance on this patient's body… is absurdly strong. With this level of resistance, most Curses in the treatment center would be nullified. Locke, how did you do it? You actually made this First Class Wizard Apprentice's Magic Resistance so active!"

Locke injected a second vial of Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion into the infusion system with a syringe.

At the same time, he carefully observed and recorded the changes occurring in the patient.

"Everything is similar to the previous simple experiment. The Bear Spirit Emerald Bile Potion has induced a broad-spectrum Magic Resistance in this First Class Wizard Apprentice. This broad-spectrum Magic Resistance is rapidly eliminating all Curse energy within his body."

"Moreover, even the Magic Plant connected to him has been purified as a result."

Locke used a scalpel to cut open the patient's palm and the root stem of the Clivia on his left hand, finding that both now bled normal blood and clear, untainted Magic Plant sap.
