Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Pit Between Fates

She didn't fall. She descended—like silence after a scream.

When the ground split beneath Liss, she didn't scream.

She didn't flail.

She simply vanished, swallowed by violet mist and silence.

The others rushed to the crater, but it was already closing itself—as if ashamed it had ever opened.

"Where did she go?" Thessaly growled, sword half-drawn.

"She's not in the maps," Korrin said, panicked.

"Not in the pocket realms, or the underlayers. She's… nowhere."

But Naia whispered the truth:

"She's in herself."

Liss landed in a realm that had no name.

It looked like her childhood dream—

A dark field under a violet sky.

This time, she didn't walk. She floated.

And before her rose a mirror—

Cracked.

Bleeding light that whispered.

"You shouldn't have come back."

From within the glass: Ling Kushi.

Not chaos. Not god. Just raw, breathing madness, locked in a prison built from Liss's unbeing.

"Do you remember why you caged me?" he asked.

Liss touched the glass.

"No. But I know I'm the reason you're still here."

The mirror cracked again.
