With that, Owen infiltrated the empire’s commander’s tent and crept over to the bed in the pitch-black darkness. As Owen tried to silently drive the dagger into the throat of his target-
“Ugh.”
His target had literally the instinct like that of a beast, and Owen’s wrist was broken after a single move. Eventually, the inside of the tent became bright with light. It looked as if he wasn’t fully awake but his beast-like golden eyes were flashing. That was Owen Shubach’s first encounter with Rexid Van Hexen.
‘He really reacted in his asleep?’
Until that moment, Owen had never failed as an assassin. It was his expertise to assess the sounds of his target’s breathing and take them out without another soul knowing. Rexid Van Hexen was in a deep slumber and Owen was sure that his assassination would be a breeze.
“Yawn…”
At least until he found out that the man who was yawning in front of an assassin had a reaction speed that of a beast.
“Wow, you must be crazy.”
