I burst into Xander's study, ignoring the guard at the door who had been trying to speak. I needed to see Xander so badly that, for a moment, I imagined him there seated behind his desk but he wasn't.
"Where the hell is he?" I demanded, turning to the guard who had followed me into the room and was now staring at me in surprise.
"That's what I was trying to tell you, Luna," he said. "Alpha Xander is not-"
I didn't wait for him to finish. I was already hurrying off to search for Xander. Time was running our and with each second passing by, I had to find out what was going on.
Everything happening was so confusing, and it felt like someone was behind the scenes, pulling the strings.
A while ago, I'd been so sure Vera was the one behind my poisoning, but now, I wasn't so certain anymore.
