I watched the amber liquid swirl in my glass, then tipped my head back and swallowed it all. Setting the glass down with a clunk, I stared blankly at the table.
"How long would this go on?" I muttered, staring at the empty bottles of scotch before me. None could get me to sleep.
It was almost 3.am and like every other night for as long as I could remember, I hadn't had even a wink of sleep for four days.
Images of Emma plagued my mind, all thanks to Ash. I saw her pale, sweaty face and her dark hair plastered to her cheeks as she fought the effects of the truth serum.
She suffered, Ash whimpered for what felt like the thousandth time.
Oh yes, she had. But she had deserved every bloody, agonizing second of it.
