POV Marowski
I had gathered all the men I could. I was brought into being to lead. I have brought together these tools to elevate me to my destined place. This will be my City from now on. But before that, I needed to give a speech to rouse them from their stupor.
"Everyone, we have come here to bring down the old and pathetic ways of Hancock and his soft ways. He is too weak to lead Goodneighbor. But no more, we will use our strength to kick him out and bring in a new era of unbridled pleasure and Caps!" I yell.
Everyone cheers, and I continue.
"Now, some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make. Let the streets run red with Blood!" I finish.
"Death! Death! Death! Death! Death! Death!" the crowd chants, and then they start the plan. The first step is the State House.
POV Hancock
I was talking with Jimmy, the man I put in charge of the Eastern District, when I heard something odd.
Hissss
"What the hell is that sound?" asks Jimmy.
I had a really bad feeling, which was proven correct when I saw a yellowish-green gas start to fill the State House. We don't react in time before the first person gets exposed to it. They start coughing and puking and don't manage to stay up for much longer. I can't escape, and I get the distinct smell of Pepper and some fruit, but then I taste something metallic, and my throat starts to burn.
"Cough Cough! Run! Get Out!" I scream at anyone who can hear me, but my legs start to fail, and I can't breathe.
I fall down and try to breathe, but my lungs feel like they are melting. It seems like I am not the only person struggling, as I see others trying to crawl to the door. But then, when they get to the door, they find it won't budge. I try to crawl towards the window, but before I can get close, I feel my vision go dark.
'This is it, huh? Well, I had a good run.'
I fall over, but I grab a device from my pocket and use the last bit of my breath to say one word into it.
"Help," I say with a raspy voice before dropping the device and going limp.
POV Sergeant Janis
"Help," we hear the radio send out that single word, and we realize something is off.
We try to raise him over the radio, but get no response. I look at the others from my squad, and we realize something must have happened to Hancock. We check out weapons and make sure we are ready to go, but before I can do that, I need to get permission from the leader of our expedition.
"Hmm, yeah, you can begin your plan. Remember to lead them into the traps I set. I will be busy getting rid of the various leaders so you will be on your own," comments Bobbi No-Nose.
I didn't question how they were going to do that. My job was to cause as much damage to the Triggermen as possible.
"Oh, and take these," says Bobbi.
She handed me some Gas Masks, which I find odd, but I didn't question it as we must need them for a good reason. We put them on and then get ready to begin the attack. There were only 5 of us here to help Goodnieghbor, so we had to be careful. It also meant we weren't given the standard DC-15A loadout. Instead, we were given various laser rifles with heavy modifications.
POV Hancock
Gasp
I wake up in a panic and look around me. What I see makes it clear I didn't just hallucinate. The entire State House was littered with dead bodies that looked really messed up. I didn't look for long and instead tried to figure out how the hell I was still alive.
BOOM
I am snapped out of my thoughts by the sounds of explosions and gunfire from outside.
"Sh*it! It's already begun. Well, I won't waste this second life. Time to teach Marowski a lesson," I saw while grabbing some weapons from a gun safe.
When I open the door, I see my men holding the wall, but it was clear it might not last much longer. I saw a Triggerman sneaking from behind, and I took an M14 and shot a hole through his skull. Some saw me and screamed with happiness.
"Hancock! You're ALIVE!" they shouted out with glee.
"Damn right I am. Marowski can't stop me! Now let's show these punks who Goodneighbor is!" I yell while taking aim at the enemy.
POV Marowski
"What do you mean Hancock survived!? That's impossible!" I scream with anger at the messenger.
"Um, I am just reporting what Billy and his guys reported from the Northern Wall. There are also reports of the Minutemen attacking in the South. The Railroad has also appeared in the West, but they are fighting the Institute. The East is about to fall," the messenger reports.
"Good move our men away from the West and send them to the North. I want Hancock's head! As for the Minutemen, once the East is ours, send anyone we have to deal with them; they shouldn't have too many as they are too busy defending against Raiders and the like to deal with us," I say while trying to figure out who is where.
The messenger leaves right as another comes in.
"Boss, urgent news from the East! Bobbi No-Nose has betrayed us, and Johnson's men have been wiped out. We are losing the East!" he yells with fear.
"WHAT!? That two-timing saggy b*tch! I will gut her for this!" I say with rage.
"Stan, gather my men, and go deal with Bobbi," I order.
"Are you sure, Boss? That would leave you fairly vulnerable," Stan warns.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I will still have at least 20 men here, and any assassins would have to get through either the East or the West to get here. Not to mention the barricades and traps," I say with confidence.
POV Ernie
I shot the Synth, and it went down, but I had to duck behind cover as the others started to shoot at me. I was frustrated that Railroad HQ would send so many agents on this suicide mission. Over 80 members were deployed to rescue some Synths and kill the Courser. That in and of itself would be fine, we could do that, but it was a god damn ambush. As soon as we began our attack, 100 Gen-2 Synths appeared out of nowhere. We lost a dozen agents already and 1 Heavy. If this continued, would wouldn't last much longer. As I was thinking this, a few metal balls came out of nowhere and landed in the Synths' area.
Whiiiiiine BOOOOOOWNNNN
A strange, high-pitched sound came from the balls, and it had an effect better than I could have ever imagined. The balls created a dome of white, blue light that disabled any Synths it touched. The enemy went from around 80 to less than 10 in only a few seconds. The remaining Synths didn't last much longer, allowing us to focus on the Courser. We expected some enemy reinforcements, but strangely, none came. The Courser was also very odd. They didn't teleport all around like they usually did, but that only made this go from near impossible to very hard.
2 Hours Later...
It took almost everything we had and most of the agents, but we finally managed to take down the Courser. Unfortunately, we lost a lot of good people. From the 84 that came here, only 5 of us remain. And 2 of those 5 are severely injured. I took some heavy blows as well, and I can't move my left arm anymore. But it was hopefully worth it as we reduced 3 Synths and got a Courser Chip.
POV Bobbi No-Nose (Kevin the Changeling)
After assassinating several of the leaders, I was eventually found out. I did manage to escape, but I made sure to lead them back to Bobbi's house. They would find Bobbi, just not alive, and they would have to get through all the traps I left them. The fake body of Bobbi was even booby-trapped with an IED. Meanwhile, I would drop this disguise and help the Minutemen hold off the Triggermen.
When I arrive, I see that the Minutemen have used up over 70% of the traps I built for them. Before I reveal myself, I speak the first of the codewords.
"Clutsy," I say.
"Draconequus," replies Janis.
"We got a friendly, don't shoot," Janis orders.
From what I could sense, there were quite a lot of Triggermen still trying to get rid of Janis and his men, but they hadn't even managed to injure any of our troops.
"So, you're one of the M.I.M.I.C. agents, huh? Only heard rumors about you guys. But boy am I glad you guys are on our side," Janis comments.
(AN: M.I.M.I.C. stands for Ministry of Infiltration, Manipulation, Intelligence & Countermagic. )
"I am happy to help, now, let's see about dealing with these enemies," I reply.
It's not that hard to inflict heavy casualties on the Triggermen. Most aren't that smart, and the spot we chose was done so for maximum maneuverability. Even after all the traps were used up, I had built a few more, and we then used that remaining time to retreat through the sewers to meet up with Hancock's men, who were barely holding the line in the North. It was here that I also separated from Janis and his men to complete a side objective. The objective was simple enough: use some grenades His Highness left with me to disable as many Gen-2 Synths and then upload a virus to a Synth before activating the program.
I wasn't fully sure what the program did, but it was easy to accomplish as the Courser and Railroad were too distracted to pay attention to me. I did find it odd that the Courser stopped teleporting once the Gen-2 Synth teleported back. But that wasn't my problem.
POV Hancock
It had been a bloody last 2 hours, but it was finally showing signs of ending. Marowski's men were falling back, and we had maintained the wall. However, there weren't many men left in fighting condition. And it was likely this was just another small break. Marowski's men have attacked in several waves, and it has proven to be effective. My men were exhausted, while Marowski kept cycling fresh men. Or at least that's what it was like in the beginning, but now they have been sending fewer fresh people to attack.
I wasn't sure how many more waves we could survive, but if it came to it, we could still fall back to the State House. As I was thinking about when to fall back, I saw the Minutemen coming out of the State House.
'They must have used the secret sewer entrance I told Rio about.'
"Mayor Hancock, I am sorry to say that we couldn't hold the South District. But we killed more than 80 of them for trying. From what I was told, the East District fell to the Triggermen, but they also lost around 30 men doing so. And another 50 or so lost their lives thanks to Bobbi No-Nose betraying them," says the leader of the group of Minutemen.
'Huh? Bobbi is dead, so that must mean Rio did something.'
"Well, I suppose that's good news. We've killed at least 150 here, so that should mean Marowski is running out of men. But as I am sure you can see, we aren't in much better shape," I state.
"Hmm, you're right, so we should fall back to the State House while leaving this wall with some traps. This wall will be needed after the battle is over. Oh, and my apologies, my name is Sergeant Janis of the Commonwealth Minutemen," Janis says.
"Nice to meet you, Janis, and I think you make a good point," I say while shaking his hand.
We fall back to the State House and set up some traps and the like. It was just in time as Marowski led his men personally to take the wall. From my estimates, Marowski should only have another 80-100 men left at worst. Altogether, we numbered 33, and 9 of those were non-mobile. The odds weren't the best, but the traps and defensive fortifications we built should balance the scales a bit.
BOOOM
The door is blown to pieces, and the Triggermen start to fire inside. We had the non-mobile people on the second floor, as they knew it was unlikely they were going to make it much farther. We would force them into narrow chokepoints to prevent the enemy from swarming us, and we would start a fighting retreat towards the sewer entrance.
The plan worked well, but we could outlast them. We have less ammo to go around, and we lost one barricade and choke point after another. By the time we were at the Sewer entrance, we had only 9 members left: 5 Minutemen, 3 guards, Farenheit, and me. We had braced the door, but we knew it wouldn't last much longer. We checked our guns and got ready to make a last stand if needed.
"We are falling back. There is no need to stay here and die. As long as you survive, you can reclaim Goodneighbor later," states Janis.
"He's right, Hancock, we don't need to die here. Leave some traps and flee through the sewers. We can build up a new gang and retake Goodneighbor. Or if the Minutemen are still around, we can use their help," says Fahrenheit.
I sigh and nod. But before we enter the sewers, we hear the sounds of explosions and screams. Then I hear the unmistakable sounds of gas. I freak out, but the Minutemen respond faster and pull out gas masks, handing us some. We put them on, and I hear the screams of people banging on the door, screaming for help as they cough and vomit. Some gas starts to leak into the room, but it seems we are fine as the gas doesn't affect any of us.
After the screams stop, we undo the barricade and see what happened. It was just like earlier today. Dead bodies were everywhere, and all of them had pained or scared looks frozen on their faces. Their eyes were also stuck open with a look of absolute terror. I couldn't look at it, so we moved on. Some of the remaining guards puked at the sight. Once we left the State House, we didn't see anyone still alive. Just more dead bodies. After a while, we searched most of Goodneighbor, but it was the same story. All that was left was the Hotel Rexford, Marowski's main base.
Inside the hotel, all we found were more dead people. Someone had come before us and eliminated everyone in the hotel. And I mean everyone. We even found Fred. But I was only slightly upset about that. I wanted to kill the b@stard myself after I learned it was he who made the poison gas. Instead, I p*ssed and spat on his corpse. Marowski was found in his chair with a bullet hole through his head and a revolver on the floor next to him.
"Sigh. I guess it's over. Now we have to rebuild. Get stores open again," I comment while lighting a cigarette.
"We will be returning to the Castle then, if there is nothing else," says Sergeant Janis.
"No, nothing other than to thank you and your men. Without your help, we would all be dead. I will thank Rio when I see him next, but besides that, know this: the Minutemen are always welcome in Goodneighbor. In fact, you will be our allies from now on. If you ever need something, come to me and I will help you," I say with a big smile while shaking his hand firmly.
I knew it would be a long road ahead, but with allies, it would be much smoother.

Author's Note:
A longer chapter, but I wanted to make sure it was sufficiently explained. I also felt I shouldn't go too heavily into details, as the Siege of Sanctuary would have plenty of that. Until next time, Ciao.
