"She left me. She promised forever, then left me like I was nothing."
The General nodded slowly.
"Then forgive her. Give her a second chance. People can change, Keal."
Keal finally looked up, his face calm but sharp like a blade.

The General smiled faintly.
"Good. That's the truth of the world. And you, Keal Varnas, will never be fooled again."
