Nami fell back hard onto the boat due to the violent waves, but her eyes never left the cannonball heading straight for them.
She scooted backward in fear, her hand brushing against something. Before she could look at what it was, the cannonball was just a few meters away. In panic, she shut her eyes tight and instinctively swung whatever was in her hand at the cannonball—like scaring away a stray dog.
And it worked.
The cannonball was hit by a sudden gust of force and was knocked backward, splashing into the sea and creating a huge disturbance.
"Huh?" Nami opened her eyes after realizing she wasn't hurt—only to find a one-meter fan in her hand.
"WindGod Fan… Oh right, I confiscated this from Lucen after I caught him trying to pull that stunt again." She blinked, then remembered—just a day ago, Lucen and Luffy had been bored and tried to sneak off to swing it at the sails.
"Seriously, those jerks… If they want to die, fine—but don't drag me with them!" Nami growled, forming a tight fist in anger at the memory. But she was jolted again as the waves rocked the boat violently.
"Ahhh!" she gasped, spotting three cannonballs now heading straight for them. But this time, instead of cowering, she smirked.
"When it comes to wind, no one's better than me," Nami said smugly and swung the fan—but this wasn't just a normal swing.
A gust of wind whipped up—but instead of scattering in every direction, it began to circle in a tight spiral, rotating slowly in place.
As the spin gained speed, the surrounding air pressure dropped, pulling in more air and even sea mist. Then, like a response from the sea, the surface began to twist upward along with the wind.
What started as a small swirl of air and water quickly formed into a mini waterspout about five meters tall.
But it didn't stop there.
The rotating column of air, powered by Nami's precise control and the magical fan, continued to draw in more air. Warm, moist air from the sea surface rose up into the funnel, while cooler air dropped around it—creating a powerful loop that fed the vortex like fuel to a fire.
With each passing second, the tornado grew stronger and larger. The cannonballs fired by the Marines were sucked in, spinning helplessly inside the watery spiral like flies in a blender.
"Hehehe… I'm in luck today," Nami grinned.
Her physical strength alone wasn't enough to match Zoro, Luffy or Lucen—but the fan didn't need brute force. It relied on precision. With just the right swing, she created the perfect wind spiral that triggered a chain reaction: a rotating updraft powered by heat and moisture.
The rest was handled by controlled wind shear—tiny differences in air speed and direction—that added power to the spiral.
____________
At the Marine Side
"Sergeant! A tornado just formed between us and their ship!" an officer shouted from the lookout.
"What? How is that even possible?" the sergeant asked, turning sharply to the navigator.
"S-Sir, I don't know!" the navigator stammered. "The weather was clear! The wind wasn't even strong!"
"Sir! Another update—the tornado is heading straight for us… and it's getting bigger!" another officer reported, voice filled with panic.
The sergeant clenched his jaw, staring at the enormous vortex ahead. After a long, tense pause, he finally sighed and barked,
"Turn the ship around. We're retreating!"
__________
Back on the ship, Nami stood with one hand on her hip, watching the fleeing Marines.
"Looks like they're running," she said with a satisfied smirk.
The tornado, now no longer needed, began to weaken. Its rotation slowed, the water column collapsed, and in moments, it vanished completely.
"Hm… that's not natural," Nami muttered. "It just stopped all of a sudden."
She looked down at the fan in her hand.
"I guess the winds this thing creates are magical… and vanish magically too."
At first, she had thought this could be her secret weapon.
If I can make something like this... maybe I can defeat Arlong.
She remembered how terrifying Arlong was. A regular attack wouldn't be enough—but being flung around inside a tornado? That could seriously injure him or even kill. Even fishmen had limits.
But now that she had seen how short-lived the effect was...
"If it only lasts a short time," she said softly, "then it might hurt him… but it won't kill him."
Her grip on the fan tightened.
It was powerful—but not enough.
Then, with a sharp motion, she swung the fan at the sails of both boats. Suddenly, both vessels picked up speed and zoomed farther away from the Marines—who had started chasing again after the tornado disappeared.
"WAAAHH!" a loud shout echoed behind her.
Nami turned just in time to see three tiny figures get thrown out of the board game at once.
"DAMN IT! WHERE ARE THOSE MARINES?!" Luffy yelled, leaping up and looking around wildly.
"Ugh… Can't your props drop more gently, Lucen?" Zoro groaned as he stood up using his sword for balance.
"Don't ask me! I'm a victim too!" Lucen said, still lying flat on the deck.
WHACK!
A fist came down on all three of them.
"You morons! Start paddling the boat!" Nami shouted furiously, fist still raised.
Sure, using the WindGod Fan was easy and convenient—but only for her. These idiots? They'd probably blow themselves straight into a whirlpool.
The three of them rubbed their heads, smoke rising from fresh bumps, and quickly grabbed the paddles, starting to row the boat as fast as they could.
_________
"Sergeant! They're too fast!" a Marine officer said.
"Damn it… if not for that unnatural tornado…" the Marine Sergeant growled, clenching his fists.
But they couldn't chase any further. His orders were to remain within their designated patrol zone.
All he could do now was report back to the Marine base and let someone else handle it.
To Be Continued...

A/N:
The fan in Nami's hand is really very powerfull. Though her fear of Arlong and limited knowlege of vastness of sea limit her vision also not knowing fully about the prop itself is one cause.
This chapter really belong to Nami. As we all know Nami has very unique talent related to climate so I thought why not use it for fight. Lucen props could make her strong this chapter was a small glimps of it.
Most fan fic would just make the female charcter MC mistress I don't like that idea very much would show them helpless and treat them like some weak girl that need to be protected every second.
Nami is a strong independent girl in my fan fic she won't be like this she will suffer, fight and grow strong.
