Five days after confessing to everyone about me and Miu, I spoke directly to Sirzechs and Ajuka about my past. Both accepted it and understood. They promised to watch over the town and my home while we're gone, with Grayfia staying at our house. That's a huge relief.
I also told my parents about revealing Miu's identity to Rias and the others. They weren't shocked—almost like they expected it. They even approved of me returning to the other world. Did they sense this was coming?
Knock knock.
"Yes?" I answered.
Azazel-sensei entered. "Just checking on you. You're getting discharged today, right?"
"Yup," I said.
Thanks to the new drug and rehab, my right arm was back to normal. Azazel's prediction was spot-on—the drug's a game-changer. They're continuing research to advance Underworld medicine.
"Here, a discharge gift," he said, handing me a bracelet with a small gem and intricate patterns. Pretty cool.
"What's this?" I asked.
"I made it. There's one for you and one for Miu," he said.
"Miu too?"
"Yeah. I told you we had measures for her safety. Try it on."
I slipped it onto my left wrist. Nothing happened.
"It'll teleport Miu to you if she's in danger or her body's compromised," Azazel explained. "No usage limit unless it breaks or you die. Works across any distance."
He made this in such a short time? Incredible! This ensures Miu's safety if she's targeted.
"It's stylish too," he added. "Can double as a matching pair. Though, Miu was most excited about that, which… stings as the developer."
Haha, Miu…
"Wait," I said. "Can I summon her with it?"
Azazel shook his head. "Couldn't add that. It's just for her safety. Given more time, maybe, but it works anywhere, even through barriers. Make do for now."
"It's more than enough. Thanks, Sensei."
"No need. It's a gift," he said, smirking, then sat and examined my arm. "How's it feel? Looks the same."
"Good as new. Still scarred, but I can move it like before," I said, flexing it. Even chopsticks are no problem.
"Great," he said, visibly relieved.
I owe him big time. He's a good guy, like Barachiel. Why'd he fall, anyway?
"So, Sensei, why'd you become a fallen angel?" I asked.
"What's with the sudden question?"
"Just curious."
"Fine. I told you before, didn't I? Lost my virginity, and boom—fallen."
I was speechless. What!?
After discharge, Azazel teleported me home to my room, where the Occult Research Club was waiting.
"Welcome back, Issei," Rias said.
"I'm back, Rias. Why's everyone in my room?"
"It's our room too," she replied.
Right—my room's become the club's shared bedroom. The bed's even bigger now.
"We're ready," Rias said. "I told Sona about you and Miu, as you asked. Was that okay?"
I'd asked Rias to inform Sona. She's trustworthy, a schoolmate, and we've faced death together. No more secrets.
"Yeah, Sona's fine," I said.
"She was shocked but understood," Rias confirmed.
Prep's done.
I looked at everyone. Their expressions turned serious, matching mine.
"Guys, we're heading to the other world. We don't know what dangers await. Promise me: if it gets bad, we escape."
Something's stirring there. It could be a deadlier battlefield than Loki's. I don't want anyone dying.
"Got it!" they replied in unison.
I grinned. "Alright, let's go—to Asto Ade!"
In the top-floor meeting room, we stood in a circle, hands linked, bathed in radiant light.
"Sensei, you're coming too?" I asked Azazel.
"Yup. I cleared it with Shemhazai and Barachiel. This is that important. Plus…" he grinned, "an other world sounds fun! I wanna see what's there!"
Yup, that's him—chasing anything exciting.
He's a huge help, though.
I glanced at Miu, the center of the glow. "Deep breaths. Picture that world."
Using Renkan Keikiko, I synchronized our energies, forming a single circuit. It's a technique to unify us. With Miu as the anchor, we can all cross over. Managing this many is tough, so Koneko's helping with her own training. Never thought it'd come in handy like this.
A high-pitched hum rang out. It was time.
I looked at my parents and Sirzechs, here to see us off.
"Issei, Miu, everyone, stay safe!" Dad said.
"Come back together!" Mom added.
Got it.
"Rias, I've handled things with Father and Mother. Leave the Gremorys to me," Sirzechs said.
"Thank you, Brother," Rias replied.
"No trouble for my cute sister. Issei, take care of them."
"Yes, sir!"
A magic circle appeared, and Tiamat emerged in human form.
"You're here to see us off?" I asked.
"See you off? What're you talking about?" She strode over, grabbing my shoulder. The same light enveloping us wrapped around her.
"I'm not being left behind. Take me with you," she said, smirking.
Everyone was stunned.
"No way!?" I exclaimed.
"Dead serious. I'm your familiar, right? I should come," she said.
Her eyes said arguing was pointless.
"You sure?" I asked.
"I'd gladly lend my power for you," she replied.
I sighed. Everyone else gave wry smiles.
"Didn't expect Tiamat," Azazel said. "The strongest Dragon King's gone soft."
Tiamat smirked. "I became his familiar to see how far he'd go. Unlike a certain slacking, unmarried governor."
"Tiamat, that's a low blow!" I thought.
"Wanna fight!?" Azazel snapped.
"If you're mad, settle down already. Shemhazai and Barachiel are married with kids. Other Grigori leaders recently tied the knot too. You're surrounded by women but stay single, obsessed with sacred gears, a total otaku. Slacking, unmarried, otaku governor—pathetic," Tiamat taunted.
"You're single too! Tannin's married!" Azazel shot back.
Tannin's married? Wonder what his wife's like.
"I don't mope about being single like you," Tiamat retorted.
"Get ready later…" Azazel growled.
"Try me," she said, both radiating intense auras.
Stop it! You'll destroy the house—maybe the town!
Miu giggled. "The heavy mood's gone."
Yeah, totally.
Where'd the serious vibe go?
"This suits you all," Ddraig said.
Maybe, but still…
Screw it! Serious doesn't stick with us.
"Dad, Mom, Sirzechs—we're off!" I shouted.
Light engulfed us completely.
And so, Issei and the crew head to the other world! The team: Occult Research Club, Azazel, Rossweisse, and Tiamat. I planned to dive into the other world this episode, but this felt like a good stopping point. Next time, the stage shifts to the other world!
