{Reeve and Ryle return their car.}
After they'd shifted back into human forms and re-dressed, Ryle and Reeve pushed the vehicle out of the ditch. Reeve took the driver's seat and Ryle climbed into the passenger side.
"I didn't realize bear shifters lived out here," said Reeve as he pulled onto the highway and accelerated.
"Ash City draws in all kinds of humans and supernaturals." Ryle leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms. "I think the kid will be fine. The wolf and bear seem to know each other pretty well."
"We did our due diligence," said Reeve. "Right?"
"Yes," agreed Ryle. "But we can check on things on the way back to make sure everything's good." He pulled out his phone and checked his texts. "Rennick's waiting for us with his mates. He sent a pin to his location."
Reeve pressed the accelerator down. "Let's get there before anything else weird happens."
