Karon fell silent for a few moments after hearing Gara's words. His jaw tightened as he struggled to smooth out his expression.
He was not angry. He was ashamed.
Gara was right. Whatever excuses they had, leaving him outside the protection of House Eshaan for seventeen years was nothing short of neglect.
Gara had fought on his own, in his own way. Karon could not treat him the same way he treated children who had grown up wrapped in the luxury and prestige of the Eshaan name.
He dragged a rough hand down his face.
When he looked up, Karon's gaze was steady. "Very well. I won't comment on your decision. But at the very least, I need to know about them."
Gara still looked serious, but his shoulders had relaxed. He nodded.
"Are all six of your children fathered by that young Liner named Madha?" Karon asked.
