This is the writer and I just wanted to clarify a few things to avoid any confusion for the readers.
First the basic difference in words
Italic words = Third person narration
«» = Telepathically talking.
‹› = Sign/ gestures
** = Mid sentence actions
[ ] = Written words
Secondly, I know that readers may get confused when a dialogue doesn't specify the guy talking so there will be a code word for named characters to help.

This thing will be used for places like mid battle conversations or when a lot of NPCs are talking.
