Chapter 2 - The world's most popular kid

Sixteen years later. Ah, probably wondering what I have been doing; it's sixteen years already, so you might be wondering what's changed. The main character should be very powerful. Well, if you guessed that, you are wrong. For sixteen freaking years, I have been on this earth without a single manifestation of my power, so nothing's changed.

Except after my birth, my dad became the owner of one of the biggest schools in the world, a school that trains superpowered humans. The world was divided into different guilds, each with its own unique abilities and strengths. Some guilds were known for their mastery of elemental powers, while others excelled in combat and strategy. My family was supposed to be one of the most powerful in the world, but I was the black sheep, the one without powers.

As I walked through the crowded hallway, the sound of chatter and laughter filled the air. The school was alive, and I was just a ghost wandering through it. My friends, James and Phil, were engaged in a heated discussion about the upcoming tournament, but I tuned them out. I had more pressing concerns, like how to survive another day without powers in a world where superhumans ruled.

"Hey, Tyrone, how you doing, brother? Don't forget my offer; stick with me, El mano, and I can make you more than what you really are." Tymie, the sentient being of earth, said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes, knowing he loved to rub it in my face that I was powerless.

I've told you many times I will never put in a good word for you to become senior perfect. We both know you don't like me, but buddy, the feeling's mutual, so drop the act. I said with a straight face.

"Good to know you powerless rag, do you know how many guilds, how many countries want me in their military at just the age of sixteen, while you are still over there playing with sticks and swords." Tymie said with a proud grin on his face.

The stakes were high. If I couldn't find a way to prove myself, I'd be stuck in this powerless limbo forever. My family's reputation would suffer, and I'd lose the respect of my peers. I couldn't let that happen.

As I quickened my pace, trying to catch up with James and Phil, I thought about my situation. I had skills, talents that didn't require powers. Maybe I could use those to prove myself.

The rest of the day went by in a blur. After school, I went straight home, feeling relieved to be done with the day. But as I entered my house, I was surprised to see the President sitting on my couch.

"Hi, Tyrone; it's nice to meet you again. How have you been?" The man said with a smile.

"Oh my God, it's the President." I stuttered, taken aback by his presence.
