Seeing her entire family humiliated by Elena's sharp words, Brianna Cross was beyond infuriated. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides as her face burned red. She couldn't accept it — Elena, the very woman who once trailed after her brother and tried so hard to win their favor, was now standing tall and trampling them underfoot.
Her voice rose, trembling with anger. "Elena, don't be so arrogant! Just because you have the Ashford name doesn't mean you can treat us like dirt. Who do you think you are?"
Elena smirked, "I'm the heiress of the Ashford family. So what if I'm treating you like dirt? What can you do?" Her cynical eyes were full of ridicule and despise.
Brianna shook with rage and angrily fetched another glass of red wine. As she was not paying attention, the base of her wineglass hit the side of the tray, her hand got stuck, and the red wine she had just fetched spilled in an instant—the entirety of the purplish-red wine landed on Elena.
