Chapter 234 - The Ghettos Arc: Three

Alana looked out to the ocean from the beach. Her hair drifting in the wind as she did so, her and her army plus her two adult children who were her chiefs of commanders, plus her husband, the prince, for a King would out rank her, and since she was blood, no one could out rank her.

From across the waves were ships, ships headed for her island and she was ready to fight. She had heard of the fall of Groken, the last province that was able to stand against Apex. Seeing that province fall meant a turning point. Every country now had to prepared themselves for a potential onslaught of Apex.

It was Riley who stepped off the ship, walking in water before her boots met the sand. Beside her and behind her were her sergeants and staff. Alana stepped forward to greet the pack member.

"Why did you come to my island with ships?" Alana asked.

Riley smirked at the elf. "You have a beautiful island," the Alpha said. "We would like to have it."

Alana gulped. "So you plan to just take whatever you think is owed to you?"

"Apex's goal was always land and power. Canas is whole so now its time to move forward," Riley explained.

"We were your allies; we gave you blood from the goblins-"

"And then dismantle that agreement when you abided by Sous," she argued.

"Sous...is still an ally," Alana warned.

Riley smirked, her soldiers marching onto the land. "Sous is busy."

Alana raised her hand. The elves surged forward, blades catching the light like shards of broken glass. The wolves charged, their howls swallowing the roar of the ocean.

Claws met steel. Sand sprayed. Blood darkened the shoreline. Riley's teeth snapped inches from Alana's throat; the elf twisted away, her boot heel catching the Alpha's jawbone with a sickening sound.

CRACK!

Someone screamed, an elf torn apart by three wolves working in concert. The sandy shores darken to a crimson red.

Alana's squealed as Riley stumbled back, blood spraying from her jaw, a handful of teeth lost.

The Alpha's eyes went black with fury, pupils dilating like ink spilled in water. Alana didn't wait. She lunged, her sword singing a death song. Riley twisted sideways, claws raking Alana's armored thigh instead of her throat. Sparks flew.

A wet, rhythmic hacking filled the air. Nearby, an elf sliced through a wolf's furred spine vertebrae cracking cleanly.

The beast collapsed sideways into a pool of bloody seawater. Salty foam turned pink. Sweat stung Alana's eyes, mingling with the copper scent of carnage. She tasted metal on her tongue.

She turned around and saw that over the hill, more elves were coming and this time they brought more heavy duty weapons with them.

Squeak, squeak!

Sous was laid on top of Kara as the two made love that evening. The children were asleep and they just got finished training some more. They had taken a shower together and then slipped into bed with one another.

They kissed one another with Sous taking the lead as she often did. Her tongue sought permission to enter into Kara's mouth, the Omega accepting it.

The two of them held one another. After they kissed for some time, Kara gasped, feeling Sous enter into her. The Alpha began to thrust into her deep.

She kept her eyes closed leaning her head back onto her pillow. She kissed Sous gently, softly....slowly and passionately. She felt Sous' hands slide down her back and grip her hips as she thrust into her with more speed and rigor.

Sous pulled herself up and leaned on her forearms, bracing herself as she continued to stroke the Omega. Her hips moving faster as she felt herself about to reach her spark.

Kara placed her hand on Sous' face meeting her eyes as she Alpha gave into the pleasure she was in. She slowed her movements after releasing into Kara.

Sous kissed Kara on the neck, her kisses trailed all the way down to Kara's special area. Sous kissed it, moving her tongue around it, tasting herself even.

Kara rolled her eyes and slammed her head into her pillow. Her fingers tangled themselves into Sous' hair, pulling her deeper into her. The Omega allowed herself to be filled with so much sensual love that she was able to reach her explosion.

Sous smiled bringing her head up and laying it on Kara's stomach. She turned her head toward the window and saw the night sky still filled with the green lights of the broken strains. She shook her head, doing her best to avoid looking at that conflict.

She slowly lifted herself off Kara, ignoring the Omega's protesting groan. Sous kissed her way along Kara's hipbone, biting softly, causing Kara to gasp quietly. Then Sous stood, her naked skin glowing in the moonlit room. She stretched, cracking her back, before padding silently across the cool wooden floorboards, her bare feet making soft thuds.

In the kitchen, Sous leaned against the counter, running her hands through her hair. She grabbed a glass, filled it with tap water, and drank deeply.

The cold liquid soothed her parched throat. Outside the window, the green ribbons of fracturing magic pulsed across the sky, casting unsettling green displays on the walls.

Sous avoided looking at them directly, focusing instead on the condensation forming on her glass. She felt the phantom warmth of Kara's skin still on hers, the scent of their lovemaking clinging faintly to her sweat-dampened skin. She smiled at herself. They earned it with all the sparring they've been doing these past few days.

The nect morning, Sous went into the office to have her ears twitching constantly due to the whisperes from her co-workers. Prior her getting into her own personal office, she finally asked them.

"What is yall gossiping about?"

"You didn't hear?"

Sous shrugged her shoulders and shook her head.

"Alana was invaded yesterday by Apex. Apex retreated, breaking the treaty they had for years concerning the goblin blood," the co-worker explained.

Sous nearly fainted from that. "And the queen!?" She asked frantically. She didn't wait for an answer; she ran to her office's computer and searched up the information herself.

Sous scrolled through the newsfeed, fingers trembling on the mousepad. The screen cast harsh blue light onto her face, deepening the furrows in her brow.

Grainy satellite images showed Alana's island shorelines stained crimson, a haunting ruby bracelet against turquoise waters. Headlines screamed: APEX BREAKS PACT: ELVEN QUEEN ALANA SURVIVES BRUTAL ASSAULT!

Details emerged: Riley's unexpected amphibious assault, shattered peace treaties involving goblin-blood harvesting, and Sous's own name buried halfway down, mentioned as a "former ally" now ignorant of the conflict.

Sous's gut clenched. That "Sous is busy" quote from Riley, implying she had abandoned Alana, burned like acid. Her ears flattened against her skull.

Behind her, the office continued on with murmured gossip and clacking keyboards, a mundane music concert at odds with the carnage unfolding pixels away.
