At first the the kitchen table was silent. With it being Jacob, Derrick, Monica, and Doureena, it felt a bit empty because of the lack of Abel and Kara.
Doureena took the salsa that was on the table and placed it over the venison meat she and the Alphas hunted earlier in the evening. Unlike Monica, Doureena often ate her meat raw with some sauce here or there while Monica cooked the rest for the family.
Wolves were lucky in the sense they could eat raw meat without getting the illnesses and bacteria other species were susceptible to.
She drunk the beer that was to the side in a mug and placed it down on the table. She leaned back in her seat and looked at Jacob.
"When did you two start mating?" She asked right off the bat. She folded her arms and sat with her legs spread...like an Alpha who knew she was in charge.
Jacob gulped down his meat that he attempted to eat raw to impress Doureena and took a swallow of water. "Um, when he turned sixteen, around that time."
Doureena nodded her head and shifted in her seat. "Unlike female Alphas, males have condoms," she educated the eighteen year old boy. "So why didn't you wear any?"
If Jacob was to be honest then he would say he wanted to feel all of Derrick. He wouldn't dare.
"It just happened," Derriked interrupted. "We didn't know when we would do it."
"Okay so when you started, why didn't you get on birth control?" Doureena glared at her son. He put his head down, not expecting the dinner to go like that. It was starting to make him tear up. He had hoped Doureena would be gentle with the news.
Doureena saw Derrick was getting distraught of her reaction so she took a big breath to exhaled. She calmed herself and turned back to Jacob.
"I'm sorry for being a bit harsh," she said. "I'm just disappointed is all. I was hoping for more from him. I already had an Alpha picked out for him when he turned eighteen." Similar to how she chose Zhiliary for Kara.
"Intinero!" Sous yelled out with her wand held high. Learning how to teleport made Sous realize this was what Monica was using all those times she teleported; however, Faye would use a different teleport system and so would Shadow with the seals.
Sous stood in the circle that was aways from the first circle she started off with. She was able to teleport two hundreds meters, that she knew.
She placed her wand down and straighten her scarf. The semester having gone by so quickly with her being occupied with the Wolves Unite club. Still, she looked out to the snow covered campus. She missed Faye and regretted what she did to Makala.
She placed a hand on her shoulder where Faye had stabbed her in the library. And she missed sparring. At first, she thought she wouldn't care but...she did care.
She walked to the first circle to get her belongings and go in for the day. Then there was Tany who had told her she was pregnant. Sous was so angry, scolding Tany for forgetting to take her pills. Then Tany found out she was having sex with Omegas and Tany left for Navititas break early.
In less than six months, Sous managed to lose three friends including a girlfriend. And...and if Tany keeps the child, will she allow Sous to see it, be involved?
When she got to her room, she saw it was empty from her roommates and she went to her computer to read the visual novel she had saved. She looked at the time on her computer, trying to predict when Jacob would be home-
Knock!
Sous got up to open the door and saw Randali on the other side. "Hey, long time no see, you wanna eat dinner with me and Zan?"
Sous wasn't really feeling too well. She sort of shrugged and looked at her computer. "I don't know...I...just been feeling kind of down." She licked her lips, they were dry more often, and she found herself picking at them again due to her anxiety that developed over the days.
Sous invited Randali inside the room and hung her head. "I got..uh, I got Tany pregnant."
"I thought she was on the pill," Randali inquired.
"She was...but would forget sometimes. I yelled at her..."
"Tsk, Sous!"
Sous grabbed at her hair, "I know, I feel like an idiot."
"What about Kara?"
"I haven't told her...I haven't told her anything."
Randali sat on the edge of Sous' bed realizing the gravity of the situation. "So...she didn't know you and Tany were dating and mating?"
Sous shook her head and sat down in her gaming chair. "I asked Tany out because...because I wanted to have sex. I thought getting her to date me would be better and easier for us, I mean do like her-"
"But..."
"But," Sous finished. "I like Kara more...like...I love her. I thought...since Kara was at Faelock, me and Tany could try it out. And...I'm worried about the other Omegas. They told me they were on the pill but they could have lied."
"Wait, wait!" Randali said holding up her arms. "You were cheating on Tany?"
Sous sighed and confirmed by nodding her head.
"Oh my goodness, Sous..." Randali got up and walked to where Sous was in her chair and gave her a hug.
"It felt so good to be wanted amongst wolves...to have so many friends that are wolves, to be looked at as a leader by people who always been so horrible to me," Sous explained.
"So then what changed...?"
Sous rubbed her eyes and face, feeling herself about to cry. "I lost my friends...and...I...might have a...baby I can't see."
Randali reached out and hugged Sous once more. "Its okay...I'm they'll come around." But even she was unsure. "Just...hold on tight. You still have me, Zan, Jacob, and even the wolves in the club. Just hold tight, Sous. Just...just stop doing stupid shit."
Sous nodded her head, wiping her eyes using her sleeves. She blew her nose and told herself she would go and apologize to Faye and Makala once finals and break was over. She would talk to Tany in the next semester as well, give them all room to heal before appoarching them.
Jacob and Derrick cuddled with one another on the living room floor. Monica and Doureena were on the couch and together the four of them were watching some movie. A movie no one was really watching that is.
"Jacob, how is Sous?"
Jacob absolutely loved that Doureena was talking to him Alpha to Alpha. It made him feel like he was apart of the family, and he would be very soon.
"She's good. Different...she got involved with Wolves Unite and...and she's dating a girl."
"Oh!" Doureena pretended to be surprised. "Is she mating with this girl-?"
"Siree!" Derrick yelled, giving his Alpha an ugly look.
Doureena laughed. "Just curious...she's a very strong Alpha. I'm sure a lot of Omegas are interested."
Jacob was hesitate mainly because he knew how much Kara liked Sous from Derrick. He didn't want to air out Sous for sleeping around with other Omegas, even cheating on Tany. It was behavior that he didn't particularly like either but ever since she joined that club, it was as if she thought she was some type of God.
"I'm not sure," Jacob lied, not wanting to make Derrick upset for his sister.
After the movie was over, the two boys held each other hands and Derrick walked to the front door with Jacob in toe. The two of them stood on the porch with the light on.
They looked at one another lovingly with Jacob touching Derrick's stomach. They kissed while the bugs flew around the light above them that night.
"You look like you're about to pop," Jacob laughed.
"I will in about three months. The baby will be here. I'm so scared and excited," Derrick whispered.
Jacob kissed his boyfriend's hands. "I already been looking at apartments. Once the baby is born, we'll go check them out. Before I leave back to school tomorrow, I'll come by."
"Where are you staying the night?"
"Sous' place."
"I've been to her shack once years ago. I don't even remember where its at," Derrick recounted.
"Its like a bachelor's pad. I'll show you later."
The two boys kissed one another again and Jacob walked off into the night.
