Chapter 107 - Goblin Blood Arc: Two

When Alana first met Sous down at the docks, the teenager flushed at the sight of Sous. She walked to the fourteen year old and hugged her. Having not seen her in quite a while especially since Alana was focusing more on her studies and graduating.

Sous stood above Alana, taller than the elf which was unusual since elves were by far the tallest species. Majority of the females stood more than five feet and seven inches while many of the males could reach seven feet.

For someone like Sous who was mixed with so many species, it was interesting to see how dominate the wolf gene was due to having the Alpha gene.

Alana had the strongest desire to study Sous, a small sweat drop appeared beside her head. One appeared beside Sous' since she was unsure what was going on in Alana's head.

"These are your quarters," Alana said, showing Sous around. Sous began to put her items in her new closet that she packed for the trip. This would be where she would be for the next two months until school started.

She wished she had more time for Kara but maybe next school break.

"You know, the Alpha of Apex threw a fit when she found out you were granted the right to an apprenticeship." Alana and Sous were now walking down the grand hall of the palace. Alana was giving her a tour regards to where everything was. "The pack had a hit on you for years. They had to officially take it down. Getting an apprenticeship means being apart of the political party of the party that runs the country. At least here in Dimona." They walked out of the palace with Alana waving to the guards. "Do you have a cell phone?" When she saw Sous shake her head, she responded with having to make sure Sous got one for the assignment.

There was a store Sous and Alana went to to purchase clothes. Alana informed Sous she needed to have a more professional wardrobe. One with suits, ties, skirts, dress shoes, and heels.

The shopping centers in Dimona were quite large. "We have some of the biggest malls on the planet." Alana told her.

They were sitting at the food court with several bags besides Sous and Alana. If Sous was going to go shopping, Alana saw it as an opportunity to go as well.

"You'll be graduating this year, uh?" Sous asked.

Alana nodded her head while she unwrapped the burger. She squirted some ketchup on the item and began to eat. Every now and then dipping a fry into a puddle of ketchup she placed on the wrapping paper.

"I already got accepted into Hacate University."

"Is Hacate University the same as University of Hacate?"

Alana shook her head, informing Sous the two schools were different. Her major was going to be general studies. This was due to her being the next one to recieve the grown since her older siblings had been killed years prior.

On the morning of, Sous sat in front of her room's mirror. She was already dressed, opting for the white long sleeve blouse, black skirt that went to her ankles, black stockings, and low black flats.

She brushed her hair and added some gel to keep it down. With the help of a rubber band, she placed her hair in a bun that sat on the back of her hair like a donut.

Sous proceeded to rub lotion on her arms, neck, and face then placed a face moisturizer cream on to keep her face hydrated and moist throughout the day.

At the mall, she managed to buy chapstick, lip gloss, and lipstick. She didn't care for the lipstick but ahe didn't mind giving a little color to her lips with the gloss.

There was a knock on Sous' door. Alana poked her head in to make sure Sous was decent. She walked in, closing the door behind her and looked Sous all around.

"Wow," she said as Sous rose to her feet. "You look like a bonafind business woman." Sous smirked then looked back in the mirror. Her appearance was completely different than her usual get up. She was entering a new world now with this apprenticeship, learning about the ins and outs of business and finance. She was ready.

Sous pointed to her bed when Alana asked where Sous placed the tie and blazer that went with the suit.

Alana popped up Sous' collar and began to place the tie around Sous' neck. She flipped it, slipped it, and reversed it, then pulled the knot up.

She stood back to check out her work, slightly flushing. She shook her head. She felt like a giddy school. It was ridiculous since she had since had her puberty and already had went through the typical teenage phase.

Alana laughed and playfully slapped Sous on the bosom. "Sous, you look good. Don't do anything stupid."

"Why do people keep saying that?"

Sous closed the door behind her, having already eaten breakfast, they walked out into the day. Alana would lead her to the facility and Sous would be on her own for the rest of the apprenticeship.

The business sector of Dimona was where all the tall buildings were and it was no exception has they entered into a building by going through two glass doors.

They went through security and Sous was given her new ID.

"This is where the goblins are killed?" Sous asked as the two stood in the elevator.

"No, they're in the factory which is on the outskirts of the royal city." The elevator dinged and they stepped out onto the fifth floor. "The smell was so bad when they were in the city, that too many complained."

"Yeah, death can be like that," Sous responded sarcastically.

Alana and Sous entered into an office where a secretary buzzed the chief operations officer or the COO for short. This was the apprenticeship Sous needed if she wanted to gain access to the faculty.

They stepped into his office. He rose from his seat and bowed his head to Alana. "Princess."

"Mr. Takana." Alana said introducing the two. She gently raised her hand and pointed to Sous' direction. "This is Sous. I helped her get this apprenticeship because she desires to be the Alpha of her own pack. This means needing to know business, finance, and operations."

Mr. Takana came around his seat and shook Sous' hand. "Princess-"

"Alana." Alana corrected the COO.

"Alana here, tells me you're fourteen and going into your third year of Hacate." Sous nodded her head to confirm. "Fourteen and you stand at my shoulder."

"I told her it was unusual for a female wolf to be that tall that young especially for one that is mixed with so many other species," Alana said.

"Awwee, maybe you got some elf in you, Sous." Mr. Takana said, making the conversation light and informal.

Takana took Sous on a tour of the building once Alana left. The company she was an apprentice for was a governmental company by the name of Florinx. It was a company that focused on alchemy and the creations of potions ranging across numerous fields.

The company, thereby, the country had partnerships with many other entities and this included a contract with Apex in Red Woods.

Sous learned there were a few potions that were made and sent off to Apex and other wolf packs. This included regeneration potions, seal potions, shield potions, and elixirs.

"Is it true the potions are made out of goblins?" Sous asked.

They were now on their way to the loading docks down on the bottom floor near the parking garage.

"Yes, but only the regeneration potions. Goblin blood has an unique gene that when consumed, it allows for regeneration." Mr. Takana explained.

"Are they the only ones who give up their blood?"

"No, we also take blood from unicorns, phoenixes, basilisk eggs, and even gnomes."

"Gnomes and goblins are humanoid, yes?"

Mr. Takana shrugged his shoulders. "Yes, but who cares about them."

Takana and Sous stood on the loading docks. Trucks came in and dropped off boxes to be shipped off to their respectable clients.

The two walked to the boxes and Takana opened one. He showed Sous the bottles of potions from the goblins, the pink and red liquid swishing around.

He closed the box and allowed a worker to come pick it up.

Takana led Sous to the back of a loading truck. The two of them sat down on a bench as the doors were being shut.

"Every morning, as the COO, I take a trip to the factory thats on the outside of the royal city."

Sous listened to Takana explain the activities he was to do each morning when he got to the factory which included auditing, inventory, maintenance, schedules, and those on the ground.

They rolled into the parking lot of the factory and soon Sous would wish Alana had prepared her a little better for what she was going to see.
