Levos' current strength was enough to one-shot Rose Vegito and Rose Gogeta.
But he was still a long way from crushing Rose Broly.
Training up in the middle of this was impossible, so he settled on a different path: absorb the other two.
Before the others could puzzle out his intent, Majin Buu had already finished healing Rose Gogeta.
Rose Gogeta blinked in confusion.
A silver-white fist filled his vision and slammed into his face.
Crack
Agony lanced through him. His cervical spine snapped, and with it his control over his body.
"Keep healing."
The voice was polar cold, drifting to him as darkness closed in.
It felt like an instant. It felt like forever.
Rose Gogeta's eyes fluttered open
just in time for another silver blur to rush up and fill the world.
Thud.
His consciousness drowned in razor-edged pain.
And so it went. He woke and blacked out and woke again, circling through who-knew-how-many loops.
He tried to resist, to force his Rose Full Power.
But his opponent seemed able to sense even the smallest flutter of muscle. The timing was perfect to the millimeter.
Every time he so much as began to transform, the strike cut him off and sleep swallowed him whole.
"This one's potential is tapped out."
Levos flicked blood from his knuckles and began peeling away the layers of seals on Rose Vegito.
Around the plaza, everyone watched, stunned into silence by what they were seeing.
By now, Rose Gogeta's base combat power had risen to something truly terrifying.
If he actually completed the Rose transformation, he might push past Rose Broly.
Knees went weak up and down the terrace.
Piccolo's brow knitted into a knot. He braced himself to spend his life using the Mafuba if it came to that.
So this is the upside of absorbing Dark-Gold Cooler seeing through every opening and controlling power to the last decimal, Levos thought as his hands never slowed. I need to find a chance to absorb a Black-Gold Cooler-class machine next.
He ran the same program on Rose Vegito that he had on Rose Gogeta.
Sweat beaded on Majin Buu's round face as he worked; even for him, it was exhausting.
Levos took note and turned over ways to boost Buu's strength.
Cell's absorption is for evolution energy and materials. A Majin's devouring copies an opponent's abilities directly.
If Buu wants to grow stronger, the method is simple: let him devour a powerful enemy.
His hands never paused.
Before long, Rose Vegito's body had been squeezed to its limit as well.
The two Dark Warriors now stood at roughly the same ceiling.
Levos stepped forward and plucked the green Potara from the ears of the unconscious Rose Gogeta.
Everyone present edged away from Levos without thinking.
"Don't tell me he's going to " Cold sweat slicked Piccolo's back.
Even Levos' face tightened now.
He looked down at the two broken, unconscious Dark Warriors and tried to steady his resolve.
This is only to test a hypothesis. Maybe they cannot fuse again at all maybe 'Dark Gogito' can't exist.
But this is Gogito we're talking about, the fusion of Gogeta and Vegito. Miss this and there may never be another chance.
His eyes flickered. He hesitated.
He had never taken pleasure in slaughter.
There was no meaning in it, no thrill.
What he loved was a fight that burned in the blood.
But the situation left him one choice that ran against his own code.
If he wanted a Dark Gogito to be born without becoming a threat, then every inch of these two bodies had to be stripped of the ability to resist. Risk had to be driven as low as it could go.
Levos let out a long breath. His gaze settled, iron-hard. He would do what needed doing.
Screams tore the sky over the temple for a long, long time.
Most of the defenders shook where they stood.
Even those who had fought shoulder to shoulder with him dared not step within fifty meters.
Frieza's eye twitched; a cold smile pulled at his mouth. "Hoh hoh hoh… interesting. Mr. Levos really isn't the kind I hate."
Dabura shivered, half in fear and half in rapture. "Lord Levos will be the true sovereign of the entire Dark Demon Realm…"
"Don't lump Levos in with the likes of you," Piccolo said, face slate dark. "This is restraint."
Majin Buu sat beside Levos eating cake and watching like a child at a show.
"Wooow! Cool! So handsome! So awesome!"
It did not take long.
With hands, feet, and tail, Levos ground the bones of both Dark Warriors to gravel.
They could not so much as twitch a finger.
They drifted in and out of awareness again and again, but in the end, they somehow lived.
"That should make the experiment safe enough…"
Levos hauled them off the terrace and set them on a slab of rock jutting from the magma.
He clipped a pair of jade-green Potara earrings to their ears one to Rose Vegito, one to Rose Gogeta.
The earrings flashed with blinding light.
The glare forced Levos to slit his eyes.
Boom
The rock shelf exploded.
Power geysered skyward. Even at range, the pressure rattled every soul in the temple.
Cloudmass boiled over tens of kilometers, lightning crawling like snakes across the sky.
The ground shook beneath Levos' feet.
"It really worked," he murmured.
He ripped through the light and stood before the new fusion.
"Dark Gogito."
"Damn you! Mortal what did you do to me?!"
Dark Gogito bellowed, eyes brimming with rage and hate.
His body felt like it was trapped in endless torment. Even holding himself aloft was an ordeal.
Pain. Too much pain.
Aside from the surge of ki roiling off him, he could not move at all.
All he could do was throw up a shield in a panic.
"I helped you fuse, of course."
Levos' right fist blurred.
Bang.
The blow detonated Dark Gogito's barrier and knocked him straight into the lava.
Flame roared. Dark Gogito's silhouette knifed down into the depths, trying to flee through the bedrock.
Levos had planned for this.
In the next instant he loosed the Mafuba.
A spiraling beam swept down
The green light folded shut.
Dark Gogito was sealed within Levos' tail.
