Dabura quickly clarified, "No! That's not it! It's just that the order of the Dark Demon Realm is in constant chaos. Even just a few short years can bring about earth-shattering changes."
"Is that so?" Levos' voice grew colder, laced with an icy killing intent. "You refused to answer before even hearing my question?"
Startled, Dabura cautiously looked into his eyes. Those cold, sharp eyes were filled with murderous intent, stabbing straight into his soul.
"I apologize! That was rude of me. Please, go ahead and ask."
"What methods do you demons use to increase your power?"
"That…" Dabura hesitated for a moment before deciding to answer truthfully. "One method is to infuse dark energy directly into the target's body, corrupting and transforming them."
"Another is to pray to the Demon Realm Supreme Kai and receive the blessing of his demonic power."
"Demon Realm Supreme Kai? Demonic power?" Levos asked, raising an eyebrow.
Seeing that Levos didn't seem to understand, Dabura patiently explained.
"The Demon Realm Supreme Kai is known as Mechikabura. He was once the true ruler of the Dark Demon Realm. Tens of millions of years ago, he had already mastered the powers of Light, Darkness, and Divinity. The power of darkness is also referred to as 'Demonic Power'…"
After a short while, Dabura finished recounting everything he knew.
"So, Mechikabura sought the Power of Time, but during the battle for the title of Supreme Kai of Time, he was outmaneuvered by Chronoa, who then sealed him in the Time Rift?" Levos asked.
"Exactly. That happened at least seventy-five million years ago. My knowledge of the Demon Realm Supreme Kai is very limited." Dabura wiped the sweat forming on his brow.
"In other words," Levos mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully, "with both Mechikabura and the demon god Demigra sealed within the Time Rift, and most of the Demon Gods having fallen into slumber, you were able to rise up during the power vacuum and crown yourself as King of the Demon Realm…"
"No wonder your strength is so pathetic."
Dabura wanted to argue, but faced with the overwhelming power of Levos, he had no confidence to speak up.
"My sister is the most gifted scientist in the entire Dark Demon Realm. Back then, with Towa, me, and her demon android, the three of us combined could sweep through the Demon Realm. Even when faced with Demon Gods, we feared no one…"
As he spoke, a flash of resentment crept into his expression.
All those years under Babidi's control, yet his sister Towa never came to rescue him!
"You didn't become Demon King by relying on your sister's skills, did you?" Levos asked curiously.
"Of course not! My strength is beyond question! Science is nothing more than a crooked path!" Dabura retorted in frustration.
Yet even as he spoke, his mind spun rapidly, and a sudden thought struck him.
Could it be that Towa betrayed him?
That would explain why she never showed up, no matter how much danger he was in.
The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. Towa must be plotting to take the throne for herself!
Confusion turned to rage.
He would reclaim everything that was taken from him!
Dabura made up his mind.
"Sir, if you're interested in becoming stronger, I would like to invite you to return to the Dark Demon Realm with me."
"Why?" Levos asked flatly.
"Towa created an artificial demon named Mira. If you absorb him, your power level would certainly ascend to an entirely new plane!"
Dabura couldn't help but admire his own quick thinking.
Mira was no pushover. Not only was he powerful on his own, but he could also absorb Towa's energy and transform into Super Mira!
That way, Dabura could safely return to the Demon Realm, let the two powerhouses clash, and wait to reap the benefits once they were both worn out.
However…
"No interest," Levos replied calmly.
Dabura froze. Still, he forced himself to push on. "With your strength, sir, you could easily claim the title of Demon King. Perhaps even reshape the Dark Demon Realm and surpass the legacy of every ruler before you…"
"Enough, Lord Dabura. I have no time to concern myself with your Demon Realm politics. But… considering you've answered my questions honestly, I'm willing to give you a chance to redeem yourself."
"A chance to redeem myself?" Dabura's expression grew complicated.
Shin, the Supreme Kai, was visibly shocked. "Levos, someone like him deserves no mercy! He's bound for Hell when he dies!"
"Mercy? You misunderstand, Supreme Kai. Sending him to Hell wouldn't be punishment enough."
Levos' tone was calm and detached.
"In fact, given the crisis our universe is about to face, we need to rally every bit of strength we can find."
Dabura blinked, startled by Levos' words. Maybe… dying wouldn't be the worst fate after all?
But before he could entertain that idea too long.
"Dabura, someone like you wouldn't go to Hell," Levos said casually, as if reading his mind. "You'd be sent straight to Heaven."
"What?!" Dabura shuddered in horror.
As a being of the Dark Demon Realm, he instinctively loathed all things pure and beautiful.
To him, Heaven was a nightmare.
Even death seemed more appealing.
The Supreme Kai suddenly understood. "I see now! For someone so evil, going to Hell isn't punishment. But forcing them into Heaven, now that's justice!"
He turned toward Dabura with righteous fervor.
"Dabura, I'll personally see to it that you're sent to Heaven when you die. As Supreme Kai, I promise it will be arranged!"
Rage flared in Dabura's chest.
If Levos weren't standing nearby, he would have torn the Supreme Kai limb from limb.
But the moment Levos glanced at him, a chill ran down his spine.
A deep, oppressive aura surrounded Levos, dark, bottomless, and terrifying.
Dabura instinctively knew he couldn't resist.
Then Levos spoke again.
"Lord Dabura, for now, I want you to fight alongside us."
"It would be my greatest honor to serve you," Dabura bowed slightly, his manner refined and obedient.
With Dabura dealt with, Levos turned to Kibito.
"Kibito, have you found the enemy's location?"
"The Supreme Kai Realm is vast. I'll need a bit more time," Kibito replied respectfully.
Shin also stepped forward, joining Kibito in peering into the crystal orb, continuing the search for their enemy.
