Chapter 189: The Return Journey, and the Capture
Yelena had no intention of revealing the dark history of the woman before her. After a slight nod, she looked around at the group and posed a question. "Are all those who are heading to Dressrosa here?"
Artemis heard her and nodded. "Of the clansmen from Baal who were originally living a migratory life in the Calm Belt, thirty have already gone ahead to Dressrosa. It's about the same for the Buccaneers."
Yelena heard this and nodded, then asked again, "What about Senior Amit?"
Hearing this, Artemis didn't react for a moment. It took her a while to realize Yelena was referring to that person. "He and his granddaughter are scouting the outskirts of the island. If there are no special circumstances, he will not appear before us."
Yelena took in Artemis's reaction, and a subtle change occurred in her expression. But she quickly pushed these thoughts aside and said to the gathering crowd, "In that case, then let's board the Island Cloud and return to Dressrosa directly!" Yelena didn't plan to linger here for too long. She felt that the sooner they returned, the lower the chance of an accident.
The Lunarians and Buccaneers also acted with great cooperation. They knew this as well, and at a considerable speed, they brought their weapons and some of their belongings and boarded the Island Cloud that had descended from the sky.
Among the people boarding, Yelena saw the figure of Holden. At this moment, he looked even weaker, with more wrinkles on his face. Yelena remembered that three years ago, he could still walk with a cane. But now, he had to rely on the support of the young people and the giant dogs to walk.
Seeing this, Yelena sighed faintly in her heart. She had heard from Louis that Holden's age was unknown. The Buccaneers who knew his age had all passed away. Now, even Amit and the middle-aged Buccaneers only vaguely knew that he was over a hundred years old and had been active in the New World many years ago. But other than that, even the Buccaneers themselves didn't know much more, only that he had once, along with the other elders, erased the history of the Buccaneer race and the reason why they were hunted from the New World to the West Blue.
And Yelena's gaze also attracted Holden's own attention. He turned his head with a tremble, and with great effort, opened his eyes to look at her. A look of confusion appeared in his cloudy eyes, as if he were trying to remember who she was. In the end, he gave up thinking and, with the support of others, boarded the Island Cloud.
Soon, everyone, including the giant dogs, had boarded. Then, the giant Island Cloud slowly rose into the air, entered the cloud layer, and headed in the direction of their return journey.
At the same time, several nautical miles outside the island, in mid-air, a figure as burly as a small mountain spread its wings and streaked across the atmosphere, arriving directly in front of the Island Cloud and flying ahead, maintaining a distance of ten nautical miles. On the rear of the Island Cloud, a similarly slender figure also followed from a distance.
In the giant training ground inside the Dressrosa castle.
Louis held a steel-forged kanabō in one hand and, with a casual posture, launched an attack on the brother and sister with oni horns.
The heavy kanabō, at a speed that seemed slow but was actually as fast as lightning, landed on the brother and sister like a shadow, making them jump up and down.
"Why do we have to be trained by you too?!" Ulti, wearing a loose training uniform and a blue mask, her long blue hair loose, cried out.
Ulti was forced to carry a casually picked-up weapon, struggling to block Louis's repeated blows. Beside her, Page One, who was in an equally sorry state, had a dark face filled with helplessness. He casually picked up a sword from the ground and, while blocking the attacks, would occasionally look for an opportunity to launch a counter-attack.
In the distance, a little girl with long pink hair, dressed in the same clothes as the two of them, was sweating under the guidance of a white-haired old man, wielding a two-handed greatsword.
Even farther away, a short-haired girl in a kimono had her eyes covered, slowly swinging her sword as if no one else was around.
After another counter-attack was knocked down, Ulti seemed to have given up. She assumed a "salted fish" posture, lying motionless on the floor, panting heavily.
"Hey, sis!" Nearby, Page One saw this and subconsciously spoke up. "Are you okay?"
On the cold floor, Ulti waved her hand and replied weakly, "I'm fine, just too tired."
Seeing this, Page One tentatively asked Louis, "We've been training for several hours. Can we rest for a bit?"
"Rest?" To this, Louis gave the two a dazzling smile.
Seeing this, cold sweat once again dripped down Page One's forehead. Then, under his gaze, a faint holy light rose from Louis's palm. It split into three, merging into the bodies of Rebecca, himself, and his sister.
Ulti felt the pain and fatigue in her body rapidly dissipate, replaced by a long-lost lightness and warmth. Then, she sat up from the cold floor. However, before she could start to feel happy, the demon's whisper-like words came again.
"Alright, your bodies have recovered. No need to rest."
"..."
Page One's eyes widened. He looked at Louis as if he were looking at a devil, his eyes filled with disbelief. He had never thought that Louis, with his incomparably holy appearance, would actually do something so demonic.
And Ulti, who had just sat up, had the smile on her face frozen. The part of her face that was not covered by the mask was uncertain. Then, she simply lay back down, struggling like a caterpillar. "By the way, why do we have to train with that little brat?! We were just passing by in the first place!"
Just a few hours ago, Ulti, who had been feeling very bored because Yelena had left, had been wandering around the castle with her brother. Inadvertently, she had heard the sound of training and had curiously come over. But who knew that after Louis had glanced at the two of them who had suddenly approached, he had, without a second thought, directly dragged them in. And in their bewildered gazes, he had thrown weapons in front of them and then began a merciless beating.
And this time, Louis finally gave them the answer. "I saw you two were too idle, so I just pulled you over to train as well."
"..."
Hearing this, Ulti became incomparably fierce and abruptly waved her fists in protest! "You—"
The next second, Page One flashed behind Ulti at the speed of light and skillfully restrained her to prevent her from doing anything irrational.
To this, Louis clearly didn't care. Instead, he silently raised his kanabō, his gaze falling on the two of them. "Are you ready?"
"Eh?" Ulti returned to her senses at the speed of light, broke free from Page One's control, and scrambled to pick up her temporary weapon. When she turned her head, the heavy kanabō was just happening to fall, and was instantly reflected in her pink pupils.
The next moment, the entire training ground once again echoed with a chaotic clamor.
"..."
For the entire afternoon, Ulti and Page One were held down in the training ground by Louis and forced to train. It wasn't until evening that Louis healed all the injuries and fatigue of everyone present and then threw away the kanabō he had used as a teaching tool, leaving under the gazes of Ulti and Page One.
Late at night, in his room, Louis, who was flipping through the materials on the Expansion Jutsu, was disturbed by the ringing of a Den Den Mushi.
Brrring~ Brrring~ Brrring~
Louis casually answered the call and placed the receiver on the desk. Soon, Daz Bonez's voice came from the Den Den Mushi.
"Captain, the chameleon - Gamenio, has been successfully captured."
At the same time, on an unknown small island in the depths of the New World, Daz Bonez, dressed in a black suit with short stubble, was sitting on a tall man. He placed the phone on a giant rock and reported concisely with the receiver in hand, "We are outside the territory of the Whitebeard Pirates. We successfully imprisoned the chameleon with Seastone. However, this action was witnessed by one of the pirate captains under the Whitebeard Pirates. The other party is demanding that we hand over the chameleon - Gamenio."
Daz Bonez explained that after he had driven Gamenio out of the Whitebeard Pirates' territory, he had successfully captured him. But Gamenio's former friend had followed them and was demanding his release.
Louis heard this, and his expression did not change in the slightest. He asked in an emotionless tone, "Did you kill him?"
"Not yet. I cut off one of his hands as punishment for him overreaching." Daz Bonez's gaze swept past the grunts lying on the ground and landed on the pirate captain who was half-kneeling on the ground, clutching his severed arm.
The Den Den Mushi mimicked Louis's current appearance and spoke again. "Bring the target back first."
"I understand." Daz Bone's heard him and nodded. He expressionlessly got up from the unconscious man, picked him up, and left the small island step by step.
"Let's go, Baby-5."
"Okay."
The young girl in the black and white maid's uniform, with a beautiful face, glanced at the man with an unwilling expression, and then followed in Daz Bonez's footsteps.
Half an hour after the two left, the group of pirate grunts who had fainted on the ground also woke up one after another. They found their captain clutching his severed arm, his face filled with anger and unwillingness.
"Captain, are you alright?"
"Medic! Medic!"
"Captain! Where are those two guys?"
Soon, the group of wounded grunts surrounded their one-armed captain, extremely worried.
In the midst of their worried gazes, the bald pirate captain with a fierce expression had eyes full of anger. "Those two damned guys!" he said through gritted teeth. "They actually captured brother Gamenio!"
After a moment, a grunt, infected by the captain's anger, roared furiously, "They've gone too far! Captain, let's report this to Pops! Let them realize the wrath of the Whitebeard Pirates!"
However, after hearing this, the anger on the bald pirate captain's face completely disappeared, and he instantly regained his reason. "No! We absolutely cannot do that! Brother Gamenio is no longer a member of the Whitebeard Pirates. This has nothing to do with them. It's just a matter between me, brother Gamenio, and those guys! The other party is the Archangel Pirates, and they're very strong. If the Whitebeard Pirates go to war with them, many of our brothers will die! This has nothing to do with the Whitebeard Pirates. They shouldn't have to die for brother Gamenio, who has already left the crew! Therefore—"
The pirate captain clutched his severed arm, his gaze fixed on the direction the two assassins had departed, his eyes incomparably firm.
"No one is to tell Pops! I will rescue brother Gamenio myself!"
