Clint exhaled sharply, ears twitching in irritation as he finally forced himself to move.
As he climbed the few steps up to the stage, Kael was just coming down, still wearing that infuriating smirk. Clint didn't even try to avoid him he intentionally slammed his shoulder into Kael's as they passed.
"Ow—" Kael let out a short laugh, easily catching Clint's shoulder before he could walk off. "Someone's grumpy."
Clint jerked his arm free without even looking at him. "Shut up."
Kael just chuckled, watching him go, clearly amused.
Clint stepped up to the center of the platform and faced the proctor, crossing his arms. "I just stand on that pad, right?" he asked, voice flat and annoyed.
The proctor blinked at his tone but nodded. "Y-Yes. Just stand still and let the mana crystal read your energy. The brighter it glows, the higher your mana reserves."
Clint sighed under his breath, muttering, "Let's make this fast so I can leave…"
