Navien's body shook as the spell tore through him. Blood dripped down his chin, his chest heaving like a dying beast. Yet still, Selene's calm gaze pinned him in place. There was no escape, not even in his mind. He had to speak.
"I'll tell you…" He gasped, his voice ragged and broken. "I'll tell you everything. Just... just let me breathe."
Selene did not loosen her grip. Her fingers stayed locked around his bleeding hand, her expression calm and merciless.
Navien's lips twisted into something between a grimace and a laugh. "The Luna… of Alpha Eirik. She… she was a witch. Just like you."
Selene's breath hitched, but her smile didn't falter.
Navien's eyes burned with madness as he spoke. "She was beautiful, too beautiful. It was the first time I had seen such a beautiful witch, she was nothing like the witches we kept as slaves."
