Chapter 1 - Rotten heir

Brilliant! Here's how the novel unfolds with Li Wei bitten by Death itself, turning

醉夜之咬:死神之吻

The dirty alley of Xicheng District, hidden behind the glowing skyscrapers of Jiangzhou City, reeked of old cigarettes, garbage, and blood.

Li Wei, thirty-five, staggered out of Red Lotus Bar, the taste of baijiu sharp on his tongue, his shirt stained with the lipstick of a married woman. Her words echoed in his mind, soft and dangerous:

"My husband doesn't need to know..."

But someone else knew.

The alley was silent when they came. No gangsters. No thugs. Only him.

A figure cloaked in black. His face hidden beneath a hood darker than the night itself. His presence made the air freeze.

Li Wei's drunken bravado vanished instantly. His instincts screamed.

"Who...?"

The figure tilted its head, bone-thin fingers lifting the hood just enough to reveal what lay beneath. A skull. Hollow eyes burning with pale blue flames. Skin stretched thin like old parchment.

Death.

"Li Wei," the voice rasped, cold as the grave. "You danced too close to fate tonight."

Li Wei stumbled back, heart racing.

"I-I didn't do anything! It was just... flirting—"

CHOMP.

Faster than thought, Death lunged forward and sank its skeletal teeth into Li Wei's neck.

The world froze. His blood turned to ice. His screams died in his throat.

But this was no ordinary bite. It wasn't hunger. It was a mark. A curse. A contract.

When Death pulled back, its burning eyes glinted with something almost like amusement.

"You're not dead… yet," it whispered. "But now… you're mine."

Li Wei collapsed to the ground, body trembling. Black veins spread from the bite mark across his skin, his heartbeat slowing unnaturally. His vision darkened—yet sharpened. His breath grew cold, his reflection flickering with ghostly shadows.

Bitten by Death itself, he was no longer fully alive… but not truly dead. Something… in-between.

And Death…

Death always collects its debts.
