Far away from the island where the assessment was taking place, Maelir and several people from the military surrounded a luxurious mansion, all of them wearing serious expressions.
The entire mansion was enveloped by a transparent light barrier, and from within it, wisps of pitch-black smoke flowed out, emitting a foul odor.
"Planet Arkanis has the highest level of surveillance because of the presence of the Eonrift," A man muttered with disdain etched on his face. "Yet every year, these rats still try to cause trouble here, thinking they can actually succeed."
"I wonder which underground organization it is this time, and whether they're being controlled by those people from the monster race."
"Very likely. Other than those monsters right next to our border, who else would dare cause trouble here?"
Maelir listened to the conversation around him and sighed inwardly.
