Ficool

Chapter 155 - Ninth Life, Unleashed

He could freely control the form and size of fire.

At times it became a blazing sword, fiery spear, or even an enormous fireball.

Everything was as natural as wielding any other element—effortless, unrestricted.

Not showing it off was one thing, but once he did, it left Morax deeply envious.

His giant Geo whales and rock sharks had been more for show than practicality, but in terms of sheer spectacle, fire was undeniably more dazzling.

Just imagining a colossal whale made of flames was enough to give Morax goosebumps.

"Big brother—Brother Elliot! Can you teach me how to fuse elements!?"

Clearly, Morax was no longer satisfied with Geo alone. He wanted the power of other elements too.

"Of course." Elliot agreed without hesitation.

"Really?! Then hurry and teach me!" Morax nearly jumped for joy at the answer.

The torment Elliot had put him through over the past five days vanished in an instant.

"Want to learn? Simple. Once you beat me, I'll teach you everything." Elliot laid down his condition.

Morax froze. His burning excitement was instantly smothered, like a bucket of cold water.

He remembered again how Elliot had crushed him, over and over.

It was as if Elliot was asking him to accomplish the impossible.

He had already tried countless methods, and not only had he failed to defeat Elliot—he could barely even touch him.

That kind of despair, Elliot could never understand.

"Forget it then..." Morax muttered. He'd rather give up on looking impressive than dream of beating Elliot.

Perhaps he had truly been beaten into the shadow of himself.

At the very thought, the light in his eyes dimmed.

Seeing his words fall flat, Elliot pressed further, upping the pressure: "Don't worry. I never said there was a time limit. If you work hard, you'll succeed eventually."

"Stop trying to fool me," Morax replied bitterly. "You can wield three elements now. If I could beat you, I'd already be a ghost."

"Your dual-element fusion skill alone was broken enough to crush me from every angle. Now you've mastered three? I don't even want to imagine how badly I'd lose. Forget it—I'm done with this element business."

At that, Elliot finally realized he might have been too harsh earlier. Had he really beaten him into submission this badly...?

But this wouldn't do. The whole point of showing him Pyro was to stir his fighting spirit, to push him toward training and ascending the throne of a god.

He hadn't expected the guy to just give up entirely.

This move... might have been the "safe" choice.

But Elliot wasn't going to let him off that easily.

"Alright then. I'll make you a deal: when we fight, I'll only use Geo as my elemental power. I'll still use weapons imbued with Electro, though—is that fair enough?"

Elliot stepped back considerably. Surely Morax would take the bait now.

"You can't use any Electro-based skills either," Morax added, still wary.

"Fine. I agree." Elliot accepted without hesitation.

"Good! Then let's fight right now!" Morax's confidence reignited instantly.

He knew his mastery of Geo wasn't as refined as Elliot's, but at least this was his home ground. If Elliot could do it, then so could he. His chances of victory shot up just like that.

"Not now. If I let you fight me whenever you want, that'd be much too convenient for you." Elliot refused his challenge.

"Then what do we do?" Morax pressed.

"Here's the rule: you get one chance to fight me each month. No saving them up. Just once a month. The rest of the time, you can focus on training and preparing strategies." Elliot laid down the terms.

Hearing this, Morax thought for a moment. The condition wasn't unreasonable.

"Alright. That works." He accepted with little hesitation.

Of course, there was risk. But Elliot was convinced Morax's control of Geo wasn't that strong. With his own cunning and versatility, beating him would be no trouble.

Not to mention, he still had his mask as a trump card. His confidence was absolute.

He could feel it—the immense power flowing within him. The gap between a god and his followers was vast.

In his previous life, as merely a follower, he had trained his way up to god-level strength. Now, born with the physique of a god, his power would only grow faster if he continued training diligently.

"What now?" Elliot asked.

"I don't know. Normally, I'd be traveling, looking for strong opponents. But now, I've already found my target."

In other words, Morax had only one thing in mind now: defeating Elliot. Nothing else mattered.
