The academy city, Euler, as the name suggests, has many academies that educate children to teenagers, even adults are still studying.
Big Sister Wave shouted loudly calling me with Lunette next to her, "Luna! What are you doing? Come here quickly! We'll take a picture together since you're going to enter your first year of school, right?"
I immediately turned to her after hearing her say, "Yes, I'll be there in a moment!" I replied while running there.
6 years have passed since that incident, now I'm 12 years old with Lunette. My big sister is very kind, she takes good care of us both with just her income, even though we don't know what her job is. She has beautiful long blue hair and a slim body. The clothes she wears are also very nice. Every time we ask what her job is, she always denies it with "You guys are curious," and teases us.
We took a picture before entering the academy area. The academy is called Tyone Academy, one of the academies with a fairly good reputation in this city. Lunette immediately grabbed my hand and ran carrying me with her left hand, "Come on," she said without waiting for me. Her cheerful and enthusiastic nature never faded. I didn't hate her, but her nature sometimes gave me a headache.
We entered the training area and started the new school year entrance ceremony with quite a lot of students. The ceremony was quite boring because it only explained the rules and what to remember when in the academy environment. Honestly, Lunette even fell asleep while standing.
Once the ceremony was over, we did a little test to determine our class. There were several tests carried out, such as a magic test, a physical test, and a knowledge test. I felt a little nervous about the test, because I knew that my physical condition was quite weak compared to my older siblings.
"Don't worry, big sister has taught us everything, right? She told us to do whatever we want as long as it doesn't destroy the academy," she said while trying to calm me down.
"So destroying the class is still considered okay," when I asked her and she just nodded with a wide smile full of enthusiasm nonchalantly.
I could imagine Big Sister Wave saying that excitedly while making a "V" sign with his hands.
Once we started the test, one by one the students were called to be tested. There were students who were considered superior so they destroyed targets quite far away with their magic. For the first time I saw someone else's magic. Their magic was very varied, not just elemental magic. There are those who use arrow magic, magic that can grow scales, and even… Make paper appear?
The magic they used was very strange, but the paper they threw at the target easily split the target and there were even some papers that exploded as soon as they touched the target. The top person was indeed great, being able to get the highest points easily. Finally, it was Lunette's turn to step forward.
"Luna, look at me, I'll get the highest score with one attack," she said while stretching all her limbs.
Once she reached the front, the teacher began to assess her.
"Participant Lunette BlueSky, please give your best magic."
Lunette grinned as she said, "Oh? Can I do that? Then get ready for a big explosion!"
The class is underestimating and some looked at her with displeasure. I think she was just joking, I have known her longer than anyone else, especially since she is my twin sister. That's what I thought before I saw the shape and color of her pupils change. She was serious!
I tried to stop her by shouting, "Lunette, stop or you'll-"
But I was too late and Lunette threw a blue fireball colored towards the target. Most of them laughed because the fireball was said to be quite small and didn't look like it could have a big impact. But I knew what was going to happen.
Lunette shouted, "Phoenix flame," while throwing the fireball at quite a high speed. She didn't have to say it, maybe she just wanted to say it to look cool.
Without wasting time, I immediately used my magic to create an ice wall. As did I, my pupils and eye color changed too like the others, it turns into sky blue with snow and crescent moon in the middle. Unlike Lunette who had blue with a small, white three leaves clover like shape in the middle. Immediately a solid ice wall formed before the desired thing happened. When the room temperature dropped drastically, the students began to emit white dew from their mouths because of the cold and some even rotted. Some other students were surprised by my actions. Well, I guess that's normal, but I don't want any casualties on my first day at the academy.
A moment after Lunette's fireball hit the target, an explosion occurred, blowing away almost half of the students. As I suspected, a big explosion occurred. Luckily the ice wall I created was not easily destroyed even though it was not perfect. Hot and cold temperatures combined so that it became no space. Half of the room felt very hot like a volcano, on the other side of the room it felt cold like Antarctica.
Everyone was shocked. Those who were initially laughing were now speechless. Lunette just looked at me with a smile while forming a "V" with her hands. I think that was the pose Big Sister Wave used after she finished playing a prank.
The shocked teacher was silent and did nothing. She looked frozen, as did the other students.
Lunette came towards the teacher and moved her face closer to the teacher mischievously while saying, "So, how about my grades, Mis-ter?"
The teacher regained his senses and nodded to regain her composure. He wrote in his book before announcing it.
"The highest score today is won by participant Lunette," the teacher said with a slightly trembling voice.
Instantly, the highest point was won by Lunette. After taking notes, she turned to me silently, as if expecting something from me. I think she started comparing me to my twin sister.
"Now participant Luna, please step forward and cast your magic. You may hold back," she said.
"I'm sorry Mister, but I'm not as talented as my sister," I replied in a depressed tone.
The teacher looked at the ice wall I created and I immediately destroyed it by canceling my magic. I could feel that the teacher didn't believe me, but I was really telling the truth.
The teacher seemed to have high expectations for me, leaving me with no other choice. I immediately stepped forward reluctantly and began my action. Lunette just patted my shoulder and gave me encouragement. I guess our first day has already made some enemies and chaos.
I just randomly activated my magic and threw it at the target. The points earned were small because I didn't use flashy magic like Lunette. The teacher sighed as if saying, "Really," through his expression.
What do you expect? I'm not like Lunette who likes to cause trouble on the first day! Damn Lunette, if she didn't do something so excessive, I wouldn't have been noticed by the teacher in a negative way.
I could hear when I returned to my place, many people said that I was able to produce the ice wall because of luck. Honestly, I just don't resemble Lunette or Big Sister Wave.
After a while, the test was over. I only got an average score, you could say I was able to enter the best class with the lowest score in the class. I tried hard enough to get into the same class as Lunette but didn't make a mess, someone should praise me for that.
The first day of the academy was over, today was just class selection through a test. Lunette looked very cheerful after making such a conspicuous mess, a typical troublemaker. My head hurt quite a bit when I thought about what would happen next.
After the academy was over, we walked towards our house. In front of the academy gate, Big Sister Wave was waiting for us. Her eyes shone very brightly when she saw us and immediately waved her hand.
She shouted very loudly, "Luna! Lunette! I miss you guys! Come here quickly!"
I looked around us, everyone was looking at us. Honestly, I was embarrassed by my sister's actions. She did love us and appreciate us, but I think she was being too protective of us.
Lunette also shouted and ran towards him excitedly while saying, "Big sis! I missed you too!"
Ugh… Honestly I was really embarrassed by their actions. Why did they always have to be so excited? However, on the other hand I also envied them because they could express themselves freely, while I just walked behind Lunette with my shy nature.
Lunette immediately arrived in front of Big Sister Wave and put on a big smile on her face while saying, "Big Sis! I destroyed the target during the magic test! Then I destroyed the surrounding area at the same time!"
Big Sister Wave immediately laughed and ruffled her hair proudly while saying, "Good job, Lunette! I'm very proud of you! I look forward to the results of your work in the future."
I just sighed tiredly, "Big sis seriously said that to her," I asked her.
Big Sister Wave just replied, "Of course, I look forward to the results of your work too."
I answered her back in a tired tone, "That's not what I meant, Big Sis…"
I saw her ruffling Lunette's hair and Lunette enjoying it. I felt a little jealous of her, but I didn't dare to say it. Lunette was a very open girl and always said what was on her mind directly. Unlike me who was always quiet and kept everything on my mind.
Without me realizing, Big Sister Wave was already in front of me and was stroking my head too. Her touch felt very soft and warm, unlike when she messed up Lunette's hair.
"If you want something, just say it. I will try to grant it as long as possible. That's a bad habit of yours, you know," she said to me.
I could only stare at the ground while feeling her touch, "Sorry," I said.
Lunette hit her with a tone as if she wanted to tease me, "Luna is too much of a coward."
I felt a little insulted and tried to brush it off, "I'm not a coward, it's just you who is shameless."
"What did you say," she asked me jokingly.
Big Sister Wave immediately broke us up even though we were just joking, "Come on, Luna is just a shy girl."
Big Sister Wave was right, I was a shy and introverted person. Maybe Lunette's words about me being a coward weren't entirely wrong, but I didn't like it. I would beat her up later. But for now, maybe I would enjoy my big sis stroking my head. After a while, we immediately headed back home and looked for a place to eat. We deliberately took a detour because there were many restaurants that looked delicious.
"Luna, what do you want to eat," Big Sister Wave asked me.
Lunette just forcefully answers her, "I want a steak!"
Big Sister Wave just slapped her a bit and said, "Not you, Lunette. You always pick the food every time we hang out. Now, it's Luna's turn."
Lunette just shakes her head and said, "Luna is my twin, what I want is what she wants. We shared our minds so we knew each other very well. And now, I want steak so of course she wants it too."
What the… What kind of logic is that? Maybe we are twins but we are two different persons. Her nonchalant behavior is completely on another level. I'm just tired of her behavior. Big Sister Wave seems tired as well as me. Lunette just shoots me a begging, hopeful eyes. She really doesn't want to let me pick the food, does she?
"Just steak," I answered after thinking for a few seconds.
Lunette looked at me with wide eyes and a big smile. I think she knew it would turn out like this.
Big Sister Wave came closer to me and said, "As usual, you always pay attention to your surroundings and adjust yourself to your surroundings. No matter how good it is, you should still think about yourself too," she patted my head again.
"Sorry, but I really want steak too, like Lunette," I replied with a guilty look.
I think she knew that I was lying, but she didn't want to drag this matter out. She just nodded and pretended not to know that I was lying. When she turned around, I could see a slight hint of sadness on her face. It was very fleeting, but I was sure I didn't see it wrong.
Lunette took my hand and dragged me alongside Big Sister Wave. As usual, she looked very light on her shoulders. As if she didn't worry about anything or know that I lied about wanting steak.
A moment after arriving at the restaurant, we ordered a seat and sat down. The restaurant was quite noisy and full of people talking and playing. I think it was more of a bar than a restaurant. I guess that was the charm of the restaurant.
We sat down and ordered our food. The waiter was very friendly and meticulous in writing down our orders. Big Sister Wave put her chin on her hand and started the conversation by asking about our days.
"So, how was your first day of the academy? Was there anything else besides destroying the training area," she asked in a playful tone.
Lunette just giggled before answering, "Nothing, just boring academy rules. And I got the highest score in my year, everyone else looked very surprised when they saw me."
I could only calm my head and say, "She's right. She caused trouble by destroying the area on the first day."
I guess Big Sister Wave is very compatible with Lunette, knowing their similar natures and being close since we lived together. Big Sister Wave just laughed as if to say "good job" after hearing that Lunette beat the other nobles' scores on the magic test easily.
