The group continued down the stairs.
The deeper they went, the cooler the air grew, with the faint glow from the old runes on the walls proving enough light just to barely see anything.
Adrian kept his glowing orb raised high, leading the way while Maelis stayed close, her eyes scanning every shadow.
"Keep close," Adrian said quietly.
"We don't know what's down here. Stay alert."
Ronan, still buzzing with excitement, whispered loudly, "This feels like a real adventure! I bet there's a big treasure room at the end. Or maybe a boss monster guarding it! I'm ready for anything!"
Selina walked near the middle, her eyes studying the carvings as they passed.
"These runes are really old. This place must have been sealed for at least... thousands of years. We really need to be careful! Ancient ruins like this often have deadly traps!"
"I'll keep an eye on the rear. Just in case." Claire nodded, staying close to the group.
