Naruto—a world filled with mysteries.
Brilliant ninjutsu, unbreakable bonds, strange and powerful kekkei genkai, and conspiracies lurking beneath every calm surface.
Across this vast shinobi continent lay countless nations and ninja villages. Among them, the most feared and influential were the Five Great Nations: the Land of Fire, the Land of Wind, the Land of Earth, the Land of Water, and the Land of Lightning.
Each of these nations possessed a military power centered around one of the Five Great Hidden Villages:
Konohagakure of the Land of Fire
Sunagakure of the Land of Wind
Iwagakure of the Land of Earth
Kirigakure of the Land of Water
Kumogakure of the Land of Lightning
A great nation and its shinobi village existed in a mutually dependent bond.
The country provided economic resources—funding, land, production—while the ninja village offered its power in return, protecting borders, securing resources, and expanding influence.
The leader of a nation was known as the Daimyō, while the strongest shinobi of a village bore the title of Kage:
The Hokage of Konoha, Kazekage of the Sand, Tsuchikage of the Stone, Mizukage of the Mist, and Raikage of the Cloud.
Each Kage stood at the peak of shinobi power.
Shinobi strength was broadly divided into several tiers: Genin, Chūnin, Jōnin, Elite Jōnin, Quasi-Kage, Kage-level, Super Kage-level, and finally, God-level.
Genin, Chūnin, and Jōnin were further split into ordinary and elite. A ninja proficient in at least one of the three major disciplines—Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu—could be regarded as an elite.
These three disciplines formed the foundation of all shinobi combat:
Ninjutsu, the manipulation of chakra through hand seals to unleash elemental or specialized techniques.
Taijutsu, pure physical combat amplified by refined chakra control.
Genjutsu, illusions created by disrupting an opponent's chakra flow.
But beyond these basics existed powers unique to certain clans—Kekkei Genkai, bloodline limits passed genetically from one generation to the next, impossible to learn without the inherited blood.
Among these rare gifts, some stood far above the rest.
And the Sharingan, which Ash had obtained earlier through a system lottery, was known as one of the strongest ocular kekkei genkai in the world.
In the year 56, the sudden disappearance of Sunagakure's Third Kazekage led to severe tension among the nations. Small conflicts around the borders grew more frequent, suspicion deepened, and soon the Third Great Ninja War erupted.
As the conflict expanded, even the Five Great Villages suffered tremendous losses—including Konoha.
Only their abundant supply routes allowed them to maintain the grueling war.
"Damn you, Konoha… cruel to the end."
Somewhere along the border of the Land of Rain, a voice filled with hatred echoed through the forest.
The speaker was Ash, who had used a Dungeon Copy Card to enter the Naruto world. Once he arrived, his consciousness merged with the memories of his counterpart in this dimension—memories so vivid that every friendship, every loss, every pain felt like his own lived experience.
As the system had explained, many parallel worlds existed across the dimensions, and each person had counterparts within them.
Ash's counterpart in this world was known as Ash Ketchum—but unlike the powerful Ash from the Pokémon world, this version had lived a tragic life.
In this world, Ash's family descended from remnants of the Uchiha clan.
Generations had passed without anyone manifesting their clan's kekkei genkai, and the family had adopted the surname Ketchum to avoid drawing unwanted attention.
Living in a small village within the Land of Rain, they survived quietly and anonymously.
Until tragedy struck.
Ash's family here had been slaughtered—killed because Konoha ninja robbed them of food.
And now, those memories burned within him as if carved into his soul.
The Land of Rain lay at the center of the Five Great Nations.
Whenever war erupted, it was always the first to suffer the devastation. And Ash, in this world, had been one of the many unfortunate victims.
After a brutal battle between the great powers, a squad of Konoha shinobi, desperate for food, raided Ash's village. In their hunger-fueled violence, they killed his parents—and Ash himself was left for dead.
Who buried him afterward, he didn't know.
His memories only extended up to the moment of his death.
During wartime, supply routes were often cut, stolen, or destroyed. Ninja unable to receive provisions resorted to taking food from nearby villages to survive.
This cruel reality was an unspoken rule of the shinobi world.
Because of this cycle, old grudges and new hatreds piled endlessly upon one another. The Land of Rain suffered the worst of it. Its people grew intensely hostile toward outsiders; even refugees from other nations were turned away at the borders.
"The injuries have healed… looks like the system restored the body when it merged with me. My ocular power is still here, and my strength hasn't weakened. Good. Konoha… wait for me."
Ash brushed the dirt from his clothes and flexed his fingers, testing his chakra and physical condition.
Everything was intact.
He exhaled slowly.
The soil around his burial site was dry. He couldn't have been underground for long.
But what mattered more was the timeline—he had to confirm where in the Third Ninja War he had arrived.
After taking in the surroundings, Ash headed deeper into the forest.
"System, open the store. I need to buy a few things."
After locating a small cave, he slipped inside and leaned against the stone wall.
"Ding~!"
A clear chime echoed in his mind.
A translucent virtual screen appeared before his eyes, displaying items—this time from the Naruto world.
"Perfect. Just as expected.
The store updates to match whichever world I cross into… meaning I won't need to risk my life sneaking into hidden villages to steal ninjutsu."
A faint, cold smile formed on Ash's lips.
This world had taken everything from the boy whose memories now lived inside him.
And Ash intended to take something back.
