Chapter 214 - Chapter 214: Ash vs Mewtwo — Clash of Creation

"There's no such thing as true peace," Ash said quietly, his voice steady against the roaring wind.

"If you really open your heart to the world, you'll realize… people aren't as simple as you think."

Above the storm-lashed sea, on the skies over the deserted island, Ash Ketchum faced Mewtwo head-on. The two figures hung suspended in the rain, surrounded by a storm that seemed born of their very presence.

Mewtwo's cold, psychic voice echoed in Ash's mind.

"All this talk is meaningless to me. I seek only one thing — the reason for my existence. As for humanity… dealing with them is merely a consequence."

Ash's eyes narrowed.

"If you didn't owe me for saving you once, do you really think humans would still be alive right now?"

Mewtwo didn't even glance at the lightning splitting the sky.

"Perhaps not."

A blinding flash tore the heavens apart — thunder roared.

And then, in an instant, both Ash and Mewtwo vanished from sight.

A sharp sonic boom echoed through the rain as their figures reappeared, colliding in midair.

The two were locked, hand against hand, in a clash of raw force and will.

Had it not been for the techniques Ash had mastered — Shave and Moon Step — his body might have been shattered by Mewtwo's first blow.

"You've grown stronger," said Mewtwo, its psychic tone laced with faint surprise.

Before Ash could respond, Mewtwo vanished — teleporting behind him — and struck with a crushing psychic punch.

"Bang!"

Ash gritted his teeth, spinning midair to regain balance. He shot upward, matching Mewtwo's height, his Aura flaring to life around him in waves of blue light.

"Teleportation, huh?" Ash muttered, eyes sharpening. "A tough skill to deal with… but I can handle it."

His Aura Sight blazed to life — perception sharpening to impossible levels. He could sense Mewtwo's psychic tremors, the faintest ripple before every move.

Both extended their hands.

"Aura Sphere!" they shouted in unison.

Twin spheres of blue energy burst into existence — each glowing brighter than lightning — before launching toward one another at supersonic speed.

"BOOM!!!"

The collision shook the heavens. The explosion split the clouds apart, waves crashed against the island's cliffs, and the rain poured harder than ever — yet neither combatant yielded an inch.

From the sidelines, Mewtwo frowned, its thoughts briefly distracted.

"Strange… he mirrored my every move. I know humans can wield psychic power, but this precision — this foresight — shouldn't be possible. Can humans truly predict the future?"

Ash hovered in silence, drenched in rain. His breathing was steady, eyes unwavering. Every motion of Mewtwo's had been perfectly reflected — as if they were fighting a mirror image.

It wasn't coincidence.

Ash's combination of Aura mastery and combat insight allowed him to anticipate Mewtwo's actions before they happened — adapting and replicating its every move in real time.

Quartz Conference Arena — Live Broadcast

"Unbelievable… can a human really wield that much power!?"

"Mewtwo's teleportation speed is unreal!"

"Come on, Master Ash! You can do it!"

Cheers, gasps, and disbelief filled the arena. Trainers from every region watched in awe.

Team Rocket Headquarters

Giovanni leaned forward, eyes wide as the monitor flickered with psychic explosions.

"What is that boy's power…?" he muttered. "Are humans truly capable of this? Psychic energy that rivals — no — matches Mewtwo's?"

He had long known of psychics, but this… this was far beyond any human psychic he'd ever seen.

If Ash turned that strength against Team Rocket, Giovanni wasn't sure even his organization could survive.

Back on the battlefield, a faint pink light shimmered through the storm.

Not far from the two combatants, another Pokémon hovered quietly — Mew.

Its large, liquid eyes reflected the storm, its long tail swaying gently behind it.

Small, innocent, and impossibly powerful — the original from which Mewtwo had been cloned — it had come to witness the battle of its successor.

"AHHHHH!!!"

With a roar, Ash surged forward, Aura flaring violently.

He closed the distance in an instant, his fist colliding squarely with Mewtwo's face.

"BOOM!!!"

The air itself cracked open under the impact.

Mewtwo was hurled backward through the sky, psychic barriers flaring as it caught itself midair.

Ash hovered, chest heaving, eyes burning with determination.

"I told you, Mewtwo… strength isn't just about power. It's about heart!"

Just as Ash's fist was about to connect with Mewtwo, a tremendous psychic repulsion flared across Mewtwo's body.

The force pushed outward like a shockwave — yet Ash's strike met that pressure and drove it back, sending Mewtwo skidding through the air and crashing toward the sea. A wall of water rose where the impact hit, roaring into the sky.

"BANG!!!"

Mewtwo's limbs splayed as the recoil slammed it backward. In a heartbeat, a perfect, spherical barrier of blue psychic energy folded around Mewtwo and hurled it back at Ash with renewed speed.

"Ah!" Ash cried as his own Aura coalesced into a protective shell around him. The rain hammered the barrier; lightning stitched the sky. Then the two forces collided again — each blow answered in equal measure.

"BOOM!!!"

Their power matched, neither willing to yield. The storm around the island seemed to echo that stubborn equilibrium: thunder clapped, waves thrashed, and the sea spray turned white with fury.

Ash's Aura Sight began to spin inward like a kaleidoscope — his perception sharpening, his internal Aura hardening into a living armor. The shield that wrapped him grew denser, and with a focused push it forced Mewtwo back.

"Hoo… hoo…" Ash panted in the air, heart pounding. His mind felt steadier than his muscles; his mental reserves were largely intact, but the strain on his body was severe. He hung there, breath ragged, watching Mewtwo recover.

Mewtwo hovered, aura crackling, and its voice was cold but not cruel.

"I… underestimated you. I did not expect a human to rival me in both mind and body."

Ash squared his shoulders despite the exhaustion.

"Why did you do it?" he asked. "I told you — not all humans are monsters. Even Pokémon and people can live together. Why destroy that balance?"

Mewtwo's expression hardened.

"Humans have wronged Pokémon with their power. To change that, they must be removed. Only Pokémon worthy of true strength should rule this world."

At those words, Mewtwo lunged again — faster, more focused. Its eyes flared blue, psychic threads spreading outward to probe Ash's mind and surroundings. The pressure came not just as force but as a sudden invasion of thought.

Ash felt the intrusion like a chill hand at the back of his neck. He tightened his focus, centering his Aura, and the psychic probing met resistance — not perfect defense, but enough to buy him a fraction of time.

He lowered his guard a little, reading the pattern in Mewtwo's assault. "So that's it," Ash muttered.

"You want to remake the world. But I won't let you do it by destroying everyone."

Mewtwo's psychic field coalesced into a dense lance of energy and struck. Ash sidestepped instinctively and answered with an explosive burst of Aura that shattered the lance mid-flight. The two attacks detonated where they met, showering the island with blinding light and ear-splitting sound.

When the dust and rain settled, Ash and Mewtwo hovered amid the wreckage of shattered waves and broken lightning.

Both were breathing harder; both were wounded in ways not visible to the eye. Between them, small, curious eyes watched from the storm — Mew drifting at a distance, silent and attentive.

Ash looked up at Mewtwo and, despite everything, held his gaze.

"You think power makes you right," he said softly.

"But power without understanding just becomes violence. I'll prove that there's another way."

Mewtwo's stare did not soften. The psychic air tightened again. "Prove it, then."

They surged toward each other once more — not merely to strike, but to test whether conviction could stand against creation's cold logic.
