Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Training

"Everyone's full!"

After the meal, Ash looked at his Pokémon and spoke with determination—it was time to begin training again and speed up their mastery of a new move!

Upon hearing Ash's words, his Pokémon nodded eagerly. How could they not be happy? Even though they didn't say it outright, each one could feel the progress they had made under Ash's care. He didn't just train them—he treated them with meticulous attention, and their strength had grown tremendously.

"Your current strength is among the best even at the Champion level. Of course, I'm not including Shiro and Dragonite. But today, I'm going to teach you a new move… it's called Shave!"

Bang!

The moment Ash's words fell, he lightly pushed off the ground. A sharp burst of sound followed, and in the blink of an eye, he vanished from where he stood. A second later, he reappeared nearly 20 to 30 meters away!

Witnessing this feat, powerhouses like Tyranitar were stunned. Despite their overwhelming destructive force, their heavy bodies made them far slower compared to many other Pokémon.

"He's so fast! A human can move like that? How did Ash even come up with something like this?" Cynthia exclaimed from the side, clearly shocked. A move that could be used by both humans and Pokémon? That wasn't something you saw every day.

If this ability were made public, it would undoubtedly cause a frenzy—every trainer would want to learn it. But Ash wasn't worried. Shave required immense physical strength to master. Without his system's support, even he might not be able to use it so proficiently.

Ordinary people could try to learn it, but at best, their speed might reach that of an advanced or elite-level Pokémon. Ash, however, had already reached speeds comparable to a Legendary tier—second only to the mythical beasts themselves.

"Steelix, Venusaur, Pidgeot—you three won't be learning this technique," Ash said as training preparations began. "Your body structures aren't suited for it. Venusaur might have been able to manage it, but your lack of flexibility makes it impractical—even if you learn it, it won't help much."

The three Pokémon—Steelix, Venusaur, and Pidgeot—lowered their heads slightly in disappointment. But deep down, they understood Ash's reasoning. Their bodies simply weren't made for high-speed techniques like Shave.

"Don't worry," Ash said with a gentle smile. "I'll design techniques specifically suited to your unique strengths. This won't be the end."

Still, he was a bit nervous himself—after all, even the Six Powers of the Navy weren't easy to replicate, especially when trying to adapt them for Pokémon.

"Lucario, Garchomp—return!" Cynthia said, preparing to withdraw her Pokémon. Though Ash wasn't hiding his training methods, she knew that copying another trainer's techniques—especially without permission—was taboo.

But just as the Poké Balls' red light extended to retrieve them, something unexpected happened.

Both Lucario and Garchomp dashed to the side, nimbly avoiding the recall beams.

"What are you two doing?" Cynthia frowned in confusion. Normally, Pokémon obeyed their trainers—especially champions like hers.

"Luca!"

"Roar!"

Lucario and Garchomp pointed toward Ash's training session, then shook their heads firmly. They weren't trying to disobey—they just didn't want to miss the chance to learn Shave.

The move had truly excited them, especially Lucario. As a fighting-type, the speed and technique behind Shave called to his instincts. Still, they knew better than to learn it behind Ash's back. Instead, they turned to Cynthia, hoping she could convince him to teach them.

"No," Cynthia said after understanding their intentions. "That's Ash's original technique. We can't just take it without his permission."

Even if she wanted to help, it wouldn't be right. Especially considering Ash wasn't just any trainer—he was her fiancé.

"It's fine," Ash said with a soft laugh, having overheard everything. "Let them join in. We're going to be married eventually—if I'm keeping secrets from you during training, what kind of relationship is that?"

"But—"

"It's fine. I created this move myself."

Ash cut Cynthia off gently, his tone casual but firm.

Seeing his insistence, Cynthia had no choice but to let Lucario and Garchomp continue training alongside Ash's Pokémon.

But as she watched Ash, her gaze gradually softened.

She had to admit—there was something captivating about Ash when he trained with such discipline and focus.

"Alright, everyone, let's keep pushing!" Ash encouraged.

"Shave relies on explosive bursts of power to achieve instantaneous movement speed. That means your stamina and endurance must be top-tier to pull it off."

As his Pokémon panted from exhaustion, Ash remained patient but firm.

"You've all built strong foundations. You're close—just two more breakthroughs and you'll get it!"

Unlike Ash, who had learned Shave through his system, the Pokémon had to rely on their own effort and perseverance. Even with a TM disk, it would only offer two uses—hardly efficient for something like this. Wasting one just to shortcut Shave would be a huge loss.

Yet despite the strain, Pokémon like Tyranitar and the others kept at it. Their strength had grown significantly. At the Champion level, further progress was extremely difficult unless one could grasp the laws of battle itself. That bottleneck had always frustrated them—until now.

By 8 PM, under the flickering torchlight, Ash's Pokémon had finally grasped the basics of Shave.

Though their execution was still rough, and consistency would take more time, the foundation was solid.

"Alright, that's enough for today," Ash said, glancing at the time. "Rest is just as important as training. Pushing too hard leads to injuries—don't overdo it."

Even Cynthia's Lucario and Garchomp had nearly mastered the move. Lucario, especially, was making incredible progress—faster than any of the others.

Ash couldn't help but be impressed.

"As expected of the Fighting-type king," he murmured with admiration.

After recalling their Pokémon, Ash and Pikachu entered their tent. The moment he lay down, Pikachu collapsed beside him and began to snore softly—it had been a long, exhausting day.

Ash stared at the tent ceiling for a moment, his thoughts drifting.

"I still have five attribute points left…" he mused. "Before I unlock a new one, maybe I should hold onto a few. That way, I can manipulate the probability better when I use the slot machine…"

A faint smirk curled on his lips. That slot machine was one of the few bugs—or beneficial exploits—his system had granted him, and he was determined to make the most of it.
