Chapter 118 - Don't Underestimate Me

The Iwa leader's eyes widened. He grew angry, particularly seeing Kakashi easily take down many much older, more experienced shinobi, with a few shadow clones assisting him occasionally.

This is a disgrace! No one told us these brats would be so strong! That goofy, goggle-wearing brat is no doubt strong for his age, and his Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu is impressive. His physical ability and Kunai use would make him a pretty strong Chunin, despite his age. That girl as well, her Taijutsu is strong enough to keep up with our own shinoibi, but it's clear she is weaker than the others. But, it's that white-haired one. That vest, he's a Jonin at that age! And his strength explains it. It's like a game to him. He's just a kid, but he's so strong! Wait, I know him, he's Hatake Kakashi- son of the White Fang of the Leaf and the youngest Jonin ever recorded! Sh*t! I knew I recognised him! We can deal a great blow to the Leaf here!

The group leader hastily recalled the remaining few shinobi, and whispered an instruction to them, eager to finish the mission quickly, instead of wasting time on mere children.

"Target the white-haired, masked one. He doesn't have much chara left, but he's still a high-level threat. Treat him as such."

The three Leaf Chunin, not hearing what was said, could only prepare themselves for the next attack. Suddenly, the Iwa and Kumo shinobi flew towards the trio, but darted specifically for Kakashi, while a few went for Obito and Rin. Indifferent, Kakashi met them head on.

I'm low on chakra, I have to preserve it for when I absolutely have to use it.

He swiftly slashed away at the enemy, darting around attacks and seeming to appear all around them, even though the majority of their remaining force was targeting him.

Why is this so easy for him? Curse the Leaf village! The amount of prodigies and geniuses they produce are totally unfair! The Iwa shinobi leader gritted his teeth, while another one of his men charged at Kakashi.

"Chidori!"

A spiked ball of electricity appeared in Kakashi's hands and flowed down his sword, and just before the Iwa shinobi could swing down his weapon, Kakashi ducked through the attack, driving the lightning enhanced blade through his opponent's armour and his torso. A precise, gapping, bloody hole was left in the shinobi's body, as Kakashi retracted, sighing.

Why is he so strong? He's just a brat but he can take all of us on at once, this is play for him! No matter how many enemies were sent at Kakashi, it never fazed the young shinobi. This was just another mission to him, and no matter what he would fulfil it.

Briefly looking to check on Obito and Rin, who had just defeated their own opponents, his eyes widened to see the two getting up from the floor, after defeating another opponent, however this time the Iwa shinobi leader was rapidly approaching them, and with no time for his teammates to fight back, Kakashi stepped in.

The young shinobi rushed forward to meet his opponent, who was quickly dealt with as the son of the White Fang drove his sword into the Kumo shinobi's chest.

Nearly done, just a few more remaining.

Unexpectedly, the sword wouldn't move very easily from the Cloud shinobi's limp body as Kakashi tried to retract it, and all of a sudden, a Kumo shinobi rushed up from behind the body of the Iwa shinobi leader, armed.

How could I be so careless! Kakashi let go of the kunai momentarily, unable to shift it, but it was too late. The Iwa shinobi swept his arm upwards in an arc with his blade.

"KAKASHI!" Obito and Rin screamed. It was by luck that Rin was able to pull Kakashi out of the way, just in time so that the rest of his body wasn't wounded by the attack. Still, a large cut was visible from his eye, extending above and below his it. Kakashi groaned and let out a roar of yell of pain. His left eye had been greatly wounded, with blood oozing out of it. Rin quickly put her hands over Kakashi's eye, using Iryo Ninjutsu in an attempt to heal it. But even if she could somehow stop the bleeding, there was no use. Kakashi's eye was blind. In a moment of ego, the Kumo shinobi backed away, heaving after finally taking the son of the White Fang out of the fight.

This is my fault, Obito trembled, I wasn't strong enough. Didn't I say I'd become stronger so that he could rely on me? What was I doing? Kakashi…this is all my fault…

"Time to finish this," the Kumo shinobi smiled, signalling to the other last remaining Iwa shinobi, "with the son of the White Fang gone, they're nothing." The two enemies rushed towards the three.

Nothing?

A surge of anger, pain and guilt poured over Obito's soul as he looked at Rin healing his rival's eye. The Kumo shinobi who had caused Kakashi's current condition smirked, seeing the group in panic.

"Kakashi, this whole time you've been protecting us, because I wasn't strong enough. I've had to rely on you to save me too many times. Now it's my turn!"

"You're going to save him?" the Iwa shinobi laughed.

"You're just a brat!" the Kumo shinobi cackled.

Instantly, a surge of great power coursed through his body and raced into Obito's eyes. A moment of dizziness washed over him, but he forced himself to focus as the world around him became much clearer than it had been before, as he raised his kunai without faltering. Obito could sense things he couldn't sense before, see things he previously hadn't noticed.

This power…could it be? Obito thought to himself, as he watched the enemy approaching.

Kakashi peered up at his teammate, shaking in his weakened state.

"Obito is that the-" he coughed, "the Sharingan?"

Obito didn't reply. As the final two enemy ninja dived forwards to attack him, it was as if Obito could see through their movements. In one motion, he easily weaved past their attacks and swiftly struck the Kumo shinobi with his kunai, causing the enemy ninja to drop to the ground, not moving.

"Brat! You're no match for me, even with your new Sharingan!" the Iwa shinobi growled, not backing down, but he was sorely mistaken.

As he leapt towards Obito, the young Uchiha side-stepped the attack, but before bringing his kunai down on his opponent's neck, Obito uttered into his opponent's ear:

"Don't underestimate me."
