Eleven years ago Omens first appeared. About thirty-two percent of the human population randomly received powerful abilities called Omens. A genetic disorder with no traceable origins. The first signs of this illness were rarely noticed, an offspring of someone possessing an Omen would also inherit it. Though they had spectacular powers, their mind would slowly deteriorate with age and rapidly with the use of their Omen. Those who lost control became nothing more than mindless criminals, roaming the streets and committing senseless acts of violence—further accelerating their mental collapse. To curb this growing problem, the United States government created the Venator—a task force aimed at managing the chaos Omens caused.
It is August 16th, 2164. The world is currently thirty-six percent Omen.
