The orchestral music echoed, filling the 13th floor of the Sentosa
Pavilion building. The room was a pristine white, with white tables, white
executive chairs, and even all decorative ornaments draped in white. In the
corner of the room stood Leo's desk, the Tycoon and leader of the Yudhistira
Group. A female personal assistant stood beside the desk, wearing glasses and
formal office attire. She was Rasya, of mixed Chinese and Javanese heritage, 22
years old, but she had been recruited by Leo since she was 12. This made Rasya
Leo's loyal follower.
"Sya, what's my schedule today?" Leo asked.
"Today there's a visit from Uncle Sam,"
"Why is he coming here? I don't want to deal with him for
long," Leo said.
"He's just here to greet you,"
"Hmmph, a snotty kid. Well, just consider him an old friend
coming to reminisce,"
Leonardo Wijaya, 32 years old, of Chinese descent, with fair skin,
170 cm tall, long straight hair always tied in a ponytail, a cat and insect
lover. He always wore a luxurious white suit, golden shoes, and carried a
golden clutch bag everywhere, accompanied by Rasya and his six personal
bodyguards. He was the ruler of strategic business areas including offices and
nightlife entertainment in South Jakarta and East Jakarta. Now, Leo was
expanding into technology, developing an illegal underground business called
"Knockline". It was a digital platform where everyone was free to
exchange information, engage in espionage, sabotage, planned assassinations,
"clean-ups," and money laundering for government officials.
The door at the
end of the room was knocked by the guard.
"Knock! Knock!"
"Hey, brother, no need to be so formal. Let your boss's
childhood friend in,"
Sam arrogantly forced the door open, a cigar in his mouth, dressed
in a luxurious suit and a thick white coat draped over his body. He was Samuel
Da Silva, 33 years old, of Eastern Indonesian descent. His muscular body,
towering 190 cm height, curly hair, and fierce demeanor intimidated anyone who
saw him. Sam was the leader of "The Predatory" organization,
controlling areas of Central Jakarta and West Jakarta, managing discotheque
businesses, land security, forced evictions, and debt collection.
"Hello, how are you, brother? Long time no see," Sam greeted him with his arrogant style.
"Don't you miss your childhood friend, Leo? Your response is so apathetic,"
"What do you expect, huh? You want me to greet you the same way? You're not a kid anymore, Sam," Leo said mockingly.
"You haven't changed, Leo, always so proud. I know you have a soft heart, hahaha," Sam said, laughing and flicking his cigar into the
ashtray on the table.
"Hi Rasya, don't you miss your big brother? I still remember
how you cried, begging me to help you find Leo when there was no news of him,"
"Yes, I remember, Brother Sam. Thank you for all your hard work," Rasya replied.
"By the way, Leo, have you heard about the incident a week ago in Yogyakarta?"
"What business is it of yours to know about that?"
"Oh, where else would I ask if something like that happened, Leo? You're the master of underground information. Who doesn't know Leo, the ruler of the underworld?"
"He's fine," Leo said.
"Okay then, thanks for the information,"
Sam said as he walked towards the exit, his sharp gaze intimidating
Leo. He then said, "Remember, friend, I hope you weren't involved in that
incident. If you were, you know who you're dealing with."
Sam said this in a flat and cold tone, making Rasya tense; the
atmosphere in the room immediately turned serious.
Leo stared sharply at Sam with a meaningful look. It was clear that
Leo held great respect for Sam. He knew Sam better than anyone. He knew that
when Sam became serious, no one could oppose him.
Meanwhile, at the Headquarter base in Yogyakarta. Adrian sat smoking
a cigarette, cleaning the bloodstains from his hands. Before him sat an unnamed
person, slumped helplessly. No information could be extracted from him. The
phone at the end of the room rang, and Adrian immediately picked it up. On the
other end of the line, Tobi provided the information he had found about the
unnamed person. The person who had been apprehended from the robbery incident
the other day. His name was Hendra, a police brigadier who had only served for
2 years in the Indonesian Republic police institution.
"Adrian, I'm sending you information about Hendra's family and activities to your phone," Tobi said.
Adrian didn't reply; he just remained silent while checking the notifications on his phone. Complete information about Hendra was now in his hands.
"You have loving parents. They were willing to pay 300 million Rupiah to get you into the police force. All evidence of bribery is in my
hands. I even know your girlfriend's identity, and it turns out you like to record enjoyable activities with your girlfriend," Hendra was startled to hear Adrian's words.
"Just kill me. You won't be able to reach whoever gave you the
orders. You're just a rotten cockroach dreaming of flying too high," Hendra said arrogantly.
"Alright then, there's no other way but to eliminate you from the face of this earth," Adrian said calmly.
"Hahahaha, kill me as you please! I won't flinch. This is a
duty that ekhhhhh..." Adrian plunged a red pen into Hendra's throat.
Adrian tossed the back cap of the embedded pen. Blood flowed
profusely through the hole of the pen stuck in Hendra's neck. "Your life isn't worth my six comrades,"
Ridwan, who witnessed the incident from the next room, immediately threw up, unable to
stomach such a disgusting sight. But for Adrian, this was nothing; he sat back
down, drank his coffee, and resumed smoking.
In Jakarta, a Tycoon, the ruler of North Jakarta, picked up his phone. On the other end, information about the failed robbery in Yogyakarta was being conveyed.
"Bring Ricardo here,"
A guard standing beside him bowed his head, a sign that he understood the command from the boss, who sat smoking a cigarette. Shortly after, Ricardo arrived cautiously, bowing and ready to receive orders.
"Investigate the incident in Yogyakarta thoroughly. I want complete information about what happened. I want a detailed report," the boss said, speaking with his back to the unmoving Ricardo.
"Understood, boss. Give me 24 hours, and I will report my findings immediately," Ricardo said.
"I know I can count on you,"
Ricardo bowed and slowly walked backward, leaving the room.
Meanwhile, in and unknown location, the silhouette of the mysterious person once again moved a pawn on the white square one step forward, and moved a knight from the black square one step.
