In a house, a boy was lying down, eating fruit as he lay there. The boy's name is Itsuki, and he is the third main character. Itsuki is the kind of boy who never does any work and sleeps all day long. Because of this, his parents were worried. However, from birth, he has a special ability: he can understand what the person in front of him is thinking and how they are planning to attack him.
One day, a man and a woman came to his house. Their names were Takamoto and Nagamine. They had come from the Demon Slayer Association because Itsuki had been chosen to be a warrior. They said they knew about Itsuki and his special power, which is why they selected him. But before that, they came to get permission from his parents. They took responsibility for Itsuki's living arrangements and food. So, Itsuki's parents entrusted him to them. The two then took Itsuki away with them.
At one place, some boys were chasing a girl on the road. The girl was screaming for help, but since the street was deserted, she ran into a house. The boys followed her and started looking around. They were about to enter the house when one boy said, "No, don't go into that house; it belongs to Kangiten." Another boy replied, "You're mistaken. How can Kangiten be in such a small house? Let's go." They all went inside the house, while the girl hid in a room.
They all entered that very room, where Kangiten was sleeping. Suddenly, he woke up and asked, "Who are you all, and what are you doing here?" One of the boys, trembling, said, "We came to capture that girl." Kangiten asked, "Which girl? And why are you trying to capture her?" Upon hearing this, one of the boys attacked Kangiten, but Kangiten used his gravity magic to throw them all down.
Seeing this, the girl thanked Kangiten and left. Kangiten said, "You all are trapped here now. You have no choice, so just tell me why you were chasing that girl." One boy said, "We belong to the Assassin Guild, and we have a mission to kill that girl, so we were chasing her." Kangiten laughed and said, "But what does that girl have that makes you want to kill her?"One of the men said, "That girl has classified information about the Demon Slayer Association and also about our Assassin Guild. We were trying to capture her to obtain both pieces of information."
Kangiten was thinking to himself, How could that girl have the classified information of the Demon Slayer Association? And how did the Assassin Guild find out about it? Who could have informed them?
Just then, a voice echoed in Kangiten's mind—it was the voice of Takamoto Hidoi, the Chairman of the Demon Slayer Association. He told Kangiten, "You need to come to the guild immediately. There's a task for you."
Kangiten asked, "What kind of task is so urgent that I have to come to the guild myself?"
The Chairman replied, "Why do you ask so many questions? Just do what I said."
Kangiten calmly responded, "Do you really think I'll just follow your orders blindly?"
The Chairman laughed and said, "Yes, I know you don't obey anyone, and no one can command you. But this time, it's something important, so please listen to me."
Kangiten replied, "Fine, but I'm not coming because you told me to—I have something to tell you, that's why I'm agreeing."
Saying this, Kangiten used the Magic of Teleportation and disappeared into the guild.Itsuki had already arrived there. Takamoto happily said, "Kangiten, you've come. Meet him, he is…"
Kangiten interrupted in the middle, "This is Itsuki, right? Itsuki, nice to meet you. My name is Kangiten, and I'm a Demon Slayer."
Itsuki shyly replied, "My name is Itsuki, and I'm also glad to meet you."
At that moment, Itsuki was trying to read Kangiten's mind, but his power wasn't working at all. Kangiten smiled at him and said, "Itsuki, don't waste your effort. Your mind reading won't work on me."
Frightened, Itsuki asked, "How did you know I was trying to read your mind?"
Kangiten calmly answered, "Itsuki, I can't tell you that right now, but I will tell you later. But for that, you'll need to train under me."
Just then, Takamoto interrupted, "Weren't you about to tell me something first?"Kangiten asked the Chairman seriously,
"Does a girl have confidential information about the Demon Slayer Association and the Assassin Guild? And how is she roaming around so openly?"
The Chairman replied,
"Oh, that girl — her name is Julie. She's an A-rank Slayer and she works with full honesty. But why are you asking?"
Kangiten said with a smile,
"So, she's an A-rank Slayer? But such a big responsibility has been placed on her. And why am I asking? Because I met her — the people from the Assassin Guild were after her, and she was running from them. Looking at the situation, she had no other choice but to escape."
The Chairman said,
"Oh! That's the matter. I'll make sure no one goes after her."
Kangiten was sitting silently when he suddenly remembered that he was supposed to receive a mission. He asked the Chairman,
"Weren't you going to assign me a mission? What happened to that?"
The Chairman happily replied,
"You've been chosen to train the twelve Slayers. So, your task is only to handle their training."
Kangiten didn't look very happy on hearing this. He asked with a hint of sadness,
"I don't think I was chosen just randomly. There must be a special reason behind it. Still, I'll do it."
The Chairman, showing some displeasure, said,
"Yes, you were chosen for a very specific reason. But only you have what it takes to turn those kids into powerful Demon Slayers."Kangiten says with a calm smile, 'Alright then, I will take this responsibility — and also for all the other children as well."
The names of the other boys are: Hakatushi, Itsuki, Hiroto, Shizami, Onaki, and Ganami.
The names of the girls are: Mayushi, Akemi, Fumiko, Anelia, Megara, and Amaya.
