Adam stood perfectly still inside the cramped, dark closet. He could hear everything happening outside. He heard the door open. He heard the muffled voices of Sophia and her younger sister.
He had not expected that Sophia had a younger sister, but now he remembers that Sophia had told him. He overhears all the conversations between Sofia's younger sister and gets extremely worried thinking what will happen if Sofia's family catches him
He heard the teasing questions the panicked denials. The thin wooden door did little to block the sound. He remained motionless his breathing slow and even until he heard the bedroom door close again. A few moments of silence followed. Then he heard Sophia's voice a soft whisper from the other side of the closet door.
"Adam you can come out now."
