Inside Sindri's house.
Thalia and Godwyn were sitting around the table, eating soup prepared by Brok himself. Mimir's head was on the table, observing the house with an interesting gaze.
"The house is too clean to be a dwarf's house," Mimir muttered.
"Godwyn, is your father really that strong?" Thalia asked with a confused tone. Although she was attacked by Odin, she barely even saw the trajectory of the attack. If it weren't for Athena, she would be dead right now.
However, observing the conversations of Godwyn, Mimir, and even Brok, she noticed that the three always became solemn when mentioning the All-Father.
Godwyn put the spoon in his mouth, swallowed the soup, and finally spoke. "Although he is the most despicable god in this universe, his strength is monstrous. Not only does he have a strong body, but he is also incredible with magic."
"However, his most terrifying trait is his ability to foresee the future. He is semi-omniscient." When Godwyn finished speaking, Thalia's eyes widened in complete disbelief at what she had just heard.
"How do you fight a being with such an ability?" she asked, still shocked by the monstrous strength and abilities of the King of the Norse Pantheon.
"He is not totally omniscient; his vision of the future cannot cover all probabilities and possibilities. In short, he cannot see everything at once." Godwyn explained, finishing the soup broth.
"Especially now, with Ragnarok and the War with the Greek Pantheon. There are so many possibilities that he himself must be having a headache from seeing the future so much." Godwyn said with a smile. The idea that Odin was suffering because of him was quite pleasant. He truly hated Odin, who imprisoned him and tried to manipulate his memories.
If it weren't for Frigg, Godwyn would have killed himself by allowing himself to be used as a weapon in Odin's hands.
Thalia breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that Odin could not see the future infinitely. Fighting such an enemy was truly stressful. She finally understood why everyone showed solemn expressions at the mention of Odin.
At the same time, she looked at Godwyn with a look of pity. Having a villain of that level as a father was terrible.
"Godwyn, who are we meeting next?" Mimir asked in a calm tone. His network of contacts could not be considered very good, especially after working for Odin. Honestly, he felt he was hindering Godwyn on his path, given that he had the hostility of many beings in the Norse Pantheon.
"Of course, we're going to Helheim to meet the Queen of the Dead." Godwyn said, after another spoonful of soup. "She is my friend and hates the All-Father more than anyone. As ruler of one of the Nine Realms, she is also a pillar for communicating with other rulers."
Although he was friends with one or two rulers, he didn't know the other rulers nor did he have any status to bargain with beings of such levels. So, Hela was essential for all other worlds to join the crusade against Odin.
"Are you sure she won't take our souls and use them as pillows on her bed?" Mimir asked with a slightly worried tone. The Queen of the Dead was not exactly known for being friendly, so even knowing that Godwyn had some friendship with the goddess of death, he was still hesitant to meet such a crazy woman.
Hearing Mimir's words, Thalia swallowed hard and lost her appetite. She knew that the gods were cruel, but hearing his words only confirmed the fact that they were extremely cruel.
"Don't worry, we're going with chocolate. And yes, she's my friend, and a lovely woman by the way." Godwyn replied in a casual tone, as if it were the most normal thing in the world to talk to Hela amicably.
Mimir twisted his lips, but sighed in the end. He just hoped they wouldn't stay in Hel for too long. He was sure that if he died, he would join the souls imprisoned in the Queen of the Dead's bed, after all, he had many sins.
However, hearing Godwyn call the most frightening woman in the Nine Realms lovely, once again surprised him. Lovely? A pile of bones is lovely? Mimir was sure that the words bones and lovely were not suitable to be in the same sentence.
"Don't worry, Mimir." Godwyn knew Mimir's concerns, but there was no reason to worry. "She is our ally at this moment; her hatred for the All-Father surpasses any feeling of hostility she has for you and any other being."
Just as parties could bring people from different countries together to celebrate, hatred can bring a true crowd together to overthrow a corrupt government; this was no different in this universe.
Mimir sighed; he knew more than anyone that hatred could bring people together; he himself did it when Odin invaded Vanaheim. He used the hatred that others in the Vanir Clan had against Njord, the God of the Seas and Lord of the Vanir, and caused the Kingdom of Vanaheim to enter civil war.
Honestly, it wasn't difficult, especially since Njord grew up among the Aesir. Mimir used this to create discord, calling Njord a traitor and Odin's puppet. The result was a terrifying civil war and Freya being handed over to Odin as a hostage.
Remembering this, a look of guilt flashed in Mimir's eye, but he knew that there were no excuses for his actions and they would never be forgiven.
Godwyn didn't know Mimir's thoughts; he was thinking about something else at this moment, or rather, feeling a golden energy running through his body. Perhaps people didn't know what it was, but he knew what it was.
It was the same energy Godwyn had in his first life, as Godwyn, son of Marika. This type of energy was similar to a divine position, but also different. Godwyn presumed it was energy derived from Authority itself.
Under the influence of this energy, Godwyn could feel that his flesh, blood, and mind were undergoing drastic changes, becoming more complicated, strong, and noble.
A word passed through Godwyn's mind.
Divination.
He was becoming a true god, and although the process was time-consuming and long, he was truly becoming a god.
Honestly, Godwyn was caught by surprise with this information. All his plans were based on him usurping Heimdall's Divine Position, but feeling the changes in his body, he no longer needed to.
No.
Godwyn shook his head, denying it. He needed to kill Heimdall, not only to weaken Odin, but also to usurp a god so important to the Norse Pantheon.
Even if he became a god, he would not refuse other Divine Positions.
However, Godwyn felt that his change was more complicated. He had been in contact with gods his whole life, so he understood what a god was. For the Greeks, they were made of pure energy, but for the Norse, they were flesh and blood.
The Greeks were semi-immortal because of their origin, but they could still be killed by something that could kill them, like the crystallization of death that was inhabiting Godwyn's body at that moment.
Although the Norse gods were not as immortal as the Greeks and could be killed more easily, they had the advantage of growing in power much faster than the Greek gods, who only had to rely on the natural growth of divine energy.
Every pantheon had its strengths and weaknesses.
Suddenly, Godwyn noticed that his change resembled a being he had met days ago.
Gaia!
A primordial god?
The Greater Will!
Godwyn remembered the Cosmic Entity that transformed his mother into a goddess.
He didn't understand how he skipped the step of becoming a normal god and was becoming a primordial god, a being who personifies an authority.
'Is it because of Destined Death?' Godwyn thought; it was the only thing that could truly attract the attention of the Will of the Cosmos and transform him into a Primordial God.
Suddenly, a possibility appeared in Godwyn's mind.
"Mimir, technically if someone creates a new authority, can the Will of the Cosmos accept that as an act of benefiting the universe?" Godwyn asked in a calm tone; his eyes couldn't be brighter at this moment.
Mimir was confused by Godwyn's sudden question, but pondered for a moment, apparently using his divine position, and finally, spoke with an uncertain tone.
"Technically it's true, but such a thing is unlikely. The universe was born with authorities already formed, so it's impossible for a new one to be born. Of course, if an authority comes from another universe and complements an already existing authority in this universe, it's possible that the universe will indeed recognize it as an action that benefited the universe."
"What are you talking about? Speak like normal people." Thalia asked with a confused expression at the conversation between Godwyn and Mimir.
Godwyn didn't bother to answer Thalia; he was sure he had been rewarded by the universe, but instead of becoming a god, he was becoming a primordial god.
The Primordial God of Death.
But why now?
Why hadn't he received such benefits before?
Is it because he hadn't awakened memories of his first life?
Godwyn had many doubts in his mind, but he soon put them all aside. Instead of worrying about it, he might as well find a way to speed up his process of becoming a god.
These doubts will be answered in due time.
"Let's go to Helheim." Finishing eating, Godwyn said in a more confident and relaxed tone. Now that he had the capital to challenge Odin head-on, he was more relaxed and not as cowardly as before.
Thalia showed an unsatisfactory expression at being ignored; she promised herself to start looking for Mimir to acquire more knowledge, just as Annabeth did with Mimir.
