When she became conscious, Amara first heard a faint mechanical buzzing near her ears. She tried to open her eyes right away, but her eyelids felt unbearably heavy. She used all her strength but could only move her fingertips slightly.

Before she could think more, the strong smell of disinfectant filled her nose. It was so sharp that she suddenly recalled what happened before she fainted.

After finishing the college entrance exams, she finally had time to visit her only living relative in Country M. But during the flight, the plane began to shake violently. All the lights on the plane, including the phones, went out instantly. Then came the intense feeling of weightlessness.

In the darkness, surrounded by screaming passengers and overwhelming panic, she couldn't even scream.

Just before the plane accident, she saw a blue ring of light outside the window. She hadn't even had time to report it to the flight attendants when the plane went down the next second.

It was obvious this accident wasn't natural but man-made. Before she passed out, she didn't think she would survive. Now that she was awake, she had to report what she saw. Fortunately, she had been using her phone at that moment. As soon as she saw the blue ring, she had taken a picture of it.

Maybe that light came from a drone from another country. A drone approaching a passenger plane so closely could only have bad intentions.

Thinking of this, anger started rising in Amara's heart. She tried to move again, and this time, her eyes suddenly opened wide.

She found herself staring straight into a pair of smoky purple eyes. She clearly saw a flash of panic in them. The long curled lashes blinked twice, and then the eyes turned deeply curious.

Her gaze dropped slightly. She saw a clean mask covering his face. Once he stood up straight, she saw that he was wearing a white coat with a badge on the left side of his chest. The badge had lines of text she couldn't understand.

The man was very tall. Amara guessed her head only reached his chest. That wasn't the important part. What mattered was that this doctor had smoky purple hair to match his eyes.

Can doctors dye their hair? Can they wear colored contacts while on duty?

What was he doing while she was unconscious? And being so close just now, why hadn't she heard him breathing?

With these thoughts, Amara quietly watched the mask and his chest. When she saw both rising and falling regularly, she finally relaxed a bit.

"Doc…"

Noticing the doctor didn't intend to speak first, Amara decided to break the silence. But as soon as she said one word, she realized her throat was painfully dry. It felt like it was burning. She couldn't speak another word.

"Cough cough…"

She coughed softly and uncontrollably. When she finally calmed down and looked up again, the doctor was holding two glass cups filled with different colored liquids.

Sebastian watched the female humanoid robot coughing softly on the bed. He watched her chest rise and fall, watched her body tremble slightly, watched her soft hair hang down, and her fair, delicate skin. Her thin wrists and neck looked harmless and gentle, with no threat at all. Even her body temperature was nearly identical to a human's. It was strangely fascinating…

Sebastian lowered his hand and slowly gathered purple energy in his palm. This female robot looked weak, but what if she had a hidden weapon in her mouth? What if she opened her mouth and a bullet shot at him? Should he destroy her first?

He hesitated for two seconds. Thinking of his current identity and location, he finally withdrew the energy from his hand.

Now wasn't the right time to reveal himself. He had to keep pretending.

Amara looked at the two cups with one red and one blue liquid. She didn't know which to drink first. As she leaned closer, she noticed a strange smell. It reminded her of motor oil but wasn't as harsh. Was it medicine?

She looked up in confusion, only to see the doctor frowning slightly as if he were growing impatient. Her heart tightened. She quickly reached out and took both cups, but her wrist was too weak. She almost dropped them.

A few drops spilled onto the clean blanket, forming irregular water rings. Amara's heart raced. Even without looking up, she could feel his cold stare and the pressure coming from him. She could already imagine his tightly knit brows.

She had no energy to care about the strange taste of the medicine. Gritting her teeth, she tilted one cup and poured it into her mouth. The next second, she spat it all out with a loud splutter. Her head started to spin, and a wave of nausea surged up quickly.

"Ugh"

Amara put the cup down on the table by the bed. She sat up halfway and tried to vomit for a long time, but not a single drop of sour water came out.

Sebastian looked at the female robot in front of him like this. He remembered the secret message from the base last night and slowly clenched his fist.

Could the message be true? The newest female robot no longer needs to drink energy water.

These monsters are becoming more and more like humans. Why do they even need to exist in this world?

Better to destroy her now. That way, the other side won't get any experimental data.

The purple energy in Sebastian's hand slowly gathered again.

"Doctor I really can't swallow this medicine. Do you have water?"

Sebastian saw the robot girl raise her head. Her obsidian-like eyes were moist with tears. Small beads of sweat formed on her smooth forehead. Her lips, once pale, turned a bit red from the struggle. They looked plump and soft.

Such a realistic reaction system has already been created.

Since entering the room, Sebastian noticed a strange scent. He searched around and found it came from the female robot on the bed. The closer he got, the stronger the scent became.

His heart suddenly beat wildly. After the female robot spoke, his heart beat even faster. It was like discovering something strange. He wanted to jump out and see it with his own eyes. His blood boiled and his body temperature rose quickly.

This feeling was not new to him. It was a sign of desire before mating. But he had just taken suppressants, so how could this happen?

Sebastian quietly stepped back. He looked at the female robot who coughed and had tears in her eyes. He saw the sweat forming on her forehead. He heard her sweet and tempting voice. He was sure now this newest robot was made to deal with their rebel army.

Strong as he was, firm-willed as he was, after less than five minutes with the robot, he was already attracted. If many were produced and sent to the rebel zones, he couldn't imagine what would happen. Those people would surely surrender without a fight.

Such dirty tactics. Although he did not want to admit it, this was indeed the most effective.

Sebastian's eyes hardened. This time, he decided not to hold back. The energy in his hand quickly gathered again.

Amara suddenly felt a chill down her back. Though she had never been hospitalized, she had seen pigs run without eating pork. This doctor's behavior was abnormal from the start. His attitude was definitely not like a doctor treating a patient.

A very bad feeling rose in her heart. She felt that being alone with this doctor would soon bring trouble. Amara moved her eyes and saw the red button beside the bed. It was metal with a horn-shaped carving. Without thinking, she pressed it. Although she heard no sound, after pressing, she felt the tense air start to flow again.

Sebastian's ears twitched. He heard urgent footsteps approaching from the hallway. He glanced at the bed a few steps away, then at the large window. He quickly calculated his escape route. The energy he gathered had to calm down again.

The hospital door was suddenly pushed open. A large group of doctors and nurses rushed in. They stepped quickly and looked serious. Once inside, their eyes stuck tightly on Amara. Their faces showed clear joy and eagerness.

"That's great. You finally woke up."

The leader was a middle-aged woman. She quickly walked past Sebastian to Amara's bed. She gently touched Amara's forehead and looked at the electronic screen by the bed. Satisfaction and kindness shone in her eyes.

"May I ask if you want to eat? The food is ready."

Another doctor squeezed forward, looking at Amara with concern.

"If you need anything, please say so."

A lead nurse quietly joined them at Amara's bedside.

Sebastian was pushed behind the crowd. He looked at the group of artificial robots in front of him with no expression. His heart tightened a little. A flash of mockery appeared in his eyes.

It seemed all the robots in the hospital had received orders from above. Judging by their nervousness, they treated this newest female robot like a baby to spoil.

They were a group who would never have their own descendants. He didn't understand why they had to give such human-like emotions.

Though pushed to the back, Sebastian was still the highest-ranking doctor there. He could easily see the female robot's expression on the bed.

Guarded, alert, scared, confused, helpless, wronged, tired.

The robot's expression system could already do all this. Judging by her behavior, the makers had not given her the awareness that she was a robot. The people behind this were probably running some kind of experimental test.

Unfortunately, this experiment would not go smoothly because he would act to destroy it.

Sebastian lowered his eyes. He did not want to stay in a room full of robots anymore. He turned and left the ward, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.
