Chapter 109 - : After the Last Silence

Chapter 110

The sky had never looked so calm.

No rifts. No cracks. No judgment hiding in the clouds.

Just the soft hum of a world breathing again.

Kael walked the village path in silence, fingers brushing the tips of tall grass.

Children ran past him, laughing, holding fig petals in their hands like treasures.

Each smile, each step—

a reminder that something forgotten had been reclaimed.

Vaern stood by the fig tree, staring up at the branches.

Golden now.No longer symbols of pain, but of what survived it.

"Strange," he murmured.

"The fire inside me isn't burning to fight anymore."

Kael approached from behind, arms crossed.

"Maybe that's the point."

"We didn't light it to destroy. We lit it so we wouldn't disappear."

Eliendara joined them, scrolls pressed tightly to her chest.

"The records are rebuilding themselves. The old pages that were lost—they're coming back."

She hesitated.

"But there are new ones too. Blank scrolls.Ones that weren't supposed to exist."

Kael raised an eyebrow.

"What kind?"

She slowly held up a fresh page.

On it, written in flickering ink, was one name:

Kael Vaern.

Not two.

One.

Vaern blinked.

"Wait. That's…"

Eliendara smiled faintly.

"It seems the world's memory has changed. You're no longer two boys who shared a fate."

"You're one fate… that chose itself."

A gentle silence fell.

Not hollow.

Not heavy.

Just right.

But peace, as always, was only the surface.

Far beyond the village, past the healed mountains, deep beneath the northern frost—

a flicker moved in the dark.

Not ash.

Not void.

Not divine.

Just something cold.

And forgotten on purpose.

Inside a ruined temple of ice, a frozen throne cracked.

Fingers moved.

A voice whispered.

"So they woke the void…"

"But they haven't seen the source yet."

A single eye opened—silver, without pupil or mercy.

"Let's remind the world where flame was born…"
