Chapter 64 - : The Death of a God

Chapter 64

The fire consumed everything.

Not wildly.Not blindly.

It burned with purpose.

Gold and violet wove through the air, not like destruction, but like judgment long delayed.

Valtheron's void shrieked, walls of blackflame clawing at the sky—desperate, hungry, cracking against the storm of memory and rebirth.

Kael—no, Kael-Caedros—walked forward, unshaken.

He didn't run.

He didn't roar.

He simply moved, his every step unraveling centuries of fear.

Valtheron raised his arms, shadows twisting like spears.

"Do you think fire will kill me?" he hissed. "I was born from gods who forgot how to die!"

Kael's gaze was calm.

"I remember."

He thrust out his hand.

The Heart of Embers pulsed in sync.

From the crown upon Eliendara's brow, white fire surged—spiraling into Kael's flame like a vow reignited.

Together, they formed a blade of pure fire—etched not in runes, but in names.

Names of every soul Valtheron had erased.Every god he betrayed.Every future he tried to burn.

Kael lifted the blade.

Valtheron's scream tore across the skies, splitting mountains and memories alike.

And Kael spoke only once:

"This is for the fire you thought was yours."

He struck.

The blade didn't pierce flesh.

It pierced legacy.

It shattered the throne Valtheron had built from fear.

Blackfire erupted—once proud, now pleading.

But no hand came to save him.

No gods. No shadows.

Just silence.

Then—

Ash.

Valtheron collapsed, his form crumbling, his last breath not a word—

But a question never answered:

How did you survive me?

Kael fell to his knees.

His body steamed with light. His eyes dimmed.

Eliendara ran to him, caught him before he fell further.

He was still warm. Still breathing.

But faintly.

"I held on," he murmured. "Because you remembered me."

She clutched him close.

"No, Kael. We remembered you."

He smiled… and slipped into sleep.

Not death.

But a rest earned.

Around them, the battlefield was quiet.

The Fleshbound Kingdom stood.

The fire lived on.

And the god with no mercy—

Was no more.
