Chapter 53 - : When Blood Flames Rise

Chapter 53

The bloodfire glowed faintly between Eliendara and Kael, a tether neither could see but both could feel.

The Fleshbound Kingdom was alive with whispers.

Not all welcomed the union.

Some saw the bond as a danger, a gamble with power neither fully understood.

Eliendara stood on the city's highest terrace, overlooking the pulsing walls of pulsewood and stone.

Kael joined her silently, eyes scanning the horizon.

"The shadow is coming," he said softly. "Valtheron grows stronger. His void spreads faster than we imagined."

She nodded, fingers tightening around the glowing sigil on her crown.

"We need to rally the kingdom."

Inside the council chamber, the elders gathered.

Matira's voice was steady but urgent.

"There is a secret here, hidden beneath our bloodfire."

She gestured to a carved gate etched with ancient runes.

"A chamber where the first Flameborn sealed their greatest weapon against darkness."

Eliendara's eyes narrowed.

"What weapon?"

"The Heart of Embers."

A glowing crystal, rumored to burn with the power to rekindle or destroy entire worlds.

Kael placed a hand on Eliendara's shoulder.

"If Valtheron touches it first…"

She finished, "The world ends."

Together, they prepared to enter the chamber—knowing that what awaited inside would test their bond like never before.

The path twisted downward, shadows thickening.

Bloodfire flared between them, lighting the darkness.

The chamber door loomed ahead, sealed with magic and sacrifice.

As Eliendara reached out, a chill ran down her spine.

From the shadows, a voice whispered:

"You think your fire can stop the void?

The flame without a master will consume all."

A figure stepped forward—eyes black as the void, smile cruel and knowing.

Valtheron's herald.

The battle for the soul of flame was just beginning.
