Lin Feng crouched down with a warm smile.
The toys and comic books inside the box had clearly been collected over many different eras. Some were faded with age, others were scratched and worn. The comics looked as though they had been read countless times, their covers bleached by time and their corners curled.
It seemed that every time Mew brought either humans or Pokémon here, it would happily share its treasured collection with them.
Lin Feng was not particularly interested in the toys, but the comic books immediately caught his attention.
He picked one up and flipped through it.
It was obviously a story that had been passed down from the nearby castle, recounting the legendary deeds of the Aura Hero, though many parts had clearly been dramatized over the years.
He reached for another volume.
This one was a lighthearted comedy filled with amusing stories.
Meanwhile, the other Pokémon, especially Alolan Ninetales, Sylveon, Steenee, and Tsareena, became fascinated by the little toys, poking and batting them around with their paws.
To be honest, these simple toys were probably much more attractive to Pokémon like Steenee and Tsareena, who had grown up in the wild.
For Pokémon such as Alolan Ninetales and Sylveon, who had already experienced Lin Feng's endless collection of anime and entertainment, the toys were little more than a passing curiosity.
They played with them for a few moments before setting them down and wandering off to inspect something else.
Yet Mew remained just as delighted.
To Mew, these things were both precious and insignificant.
After all, it had replaced them again and again over countless generations.

But these toys were products of human civilization and technology.
They had lifespans.

Automobiles had become airplanes soaring through the sky.
Steel cities had risen from the earth.
Watching all of it unfold had left Mew both amazed and confused.
Human detection technology had also become increasingly sophisticated.
Long ago, it could wander wherever it pleased.
Now things were different.
Surveillance systems were everywhere.
There were energy scanners capable of detecting unusual fluctuations.
There were instruments that could identify mysterious phenomena.
All of it made Mew feel unfamiliar... and uneasy.
The world was no longer the carefree playground it had once been.
That was why, when it met Lugia, it had immediately invited the Sea Guardian to join them.
With another legendary Pokémon around...
It simply felt safer.
"Haha..."
Lin Feng chuckled before walking over and picking up the toy car.
"It moves because you wound up the spring. That's how the gears work."
"Meow..."
Mew shook its head.
It didn't really understand any of that.
Still, it wasn't showing these toys because it thought Lin Feng would be impressed.
After all, humans could find little trinkets like these almost anywhere.
But that didn't matter.
Mew naturally had something that would interest Lin Feng.
It hurried back into the hollow tree.
This time, it emerged pushing another wooden box.
Then it ran back inside again and rolled out yet another one.
Unlike before, however, the contents of these boxes were... strange.
Everything had been carefully sorted.
One box contained ordinary rocks.
Fire Stones.
Shiny stones.
Completely useless stones.
Beautiful decorative stones.
Oddly shaped ores.
Most of them were Evolution Stones of extremely high quality.
Nearly every single one was at least S Rank, and there were dozens of them, each much larger than ordinary Evolution Stones.
If this entire collection ever appeared on the market...
No one could even estimate its value.
Lin Feng simply smiled and shook his head.
He wasn't particularly interested in those.
There were also boxes filled with gold.
Several boxes, in fact.
Another crate contained seeds of every imaginable variety.
Pecha Berry seeds.
Bean seeds.
Countless unknown seeds.
Some of them even puzzled Lin Feng.
He even spotted a glowing walnut.
His lips twitched.
He honestly wondered which Pokémon with the Pickup Ability had managed to bring that back.
Although it wasn't obvious, Mew was actually a little obsessive about organization.
It loved sorting different kinds of items into separate categories.
Then Mew pushed out another box.
The moment Lin Feng saw what was inside...
He froze.
Resting on top of the collection was a magnificent feather shimmering with seven-colored light.
Its surface was smooth, radiant, and breathtaking.
Almost instinctively, Lin Feng activated his Eye of Insight.
