Chapter 129 - Chapter 129: The Return of Ethan Fang from His Journey

Eevee tried to explain for quite a while, but its words came out so rushed that Lin Feng couldn't understand.

Still, seeing how anxious it was, he didn't waste time. He immediately used the power of Verdant Force to probe into Eevee's thoughts.

Very quickly, he understood the situation, and his brows furrowed.

"You're saying there are two other Eevee just like you?"

"Bui, bui!"

Eevee's expression instantly brightened when it realized Lin Feng understood.

"Bui, bui… bui, bui!" (They're still outside, but I don't know where they are.)

"Hss…"

Lin Feng sucked in a sharp breath.

In this weather, two Eevee with no survival experience in the wild would definitely be in trouble.

But instead of panicking, Lin Feng first calmed Eevee's emotions with the Verdant Force.

"Don't worry. Try to think carefully when and where exactly did you get separated? Even if it's vague, that's fine."

He needed a clear idea of the situation first. Otherwise, with how vast the area around Wutong City was, even with Gardevoir and Dragonite, finding two tiny Eevee would be nearly impossible.

"Bui…"

"Bui…"

With Lin Feng's reassurance, Eevee gradually settled down. In its mind, the memory of how it got separated from its companions began to surface.

Through the medium of the Verdant Force, a vivid image appeared in Lin Feng's mind.

This was one of the advanced applications of the Verdant Force:

It allowed him to see a Pokémon's memories and even revisit its past experiences.

In the vision, Lin Feng saw three little Eevee sneaking out of the daycare together, thrilled with their plan. They slipped past the gate and ran straight into Wutong City's bustling snack street.

But once there, each Eevee caught the scent of a different food stall. Following their noses, the three became scattered among the crowds.

The vision ended there.

Eevee stopped picturing the scene and prepared to describe the rest, but Lin Feng cut it off.

"That's enough. I get it now."

Having seen the whole picture, he already knew where this Eevee came from.

It was from the Eevee Daycare in Wutong City's Dacheng District.

This daycare specialized in raising, boarding, and selling Eevee. It had been around for over ten years and was fairly well known in the city. Lin Feng remembered visiting once as a child, tagging along with his parents.

That was the very first time he got to pet a fluffy Pokémon.

And from that moment, he had developed an obsession with fluffy Pokémon. He even swore to himself that if he ever became a Trainer, he'd capture the strongest Eevee imaginable, just so he could hold it in his arms every day.

Now that he had traced Eevee's origin, the next steps were simple.

He turned to Rotom.

"Rotom, contact the owner of the Eevee Daycare. See if they've reported two missing Pokémon. Also—"

Before he could finish, Gardevoir appeared in front of him out of nowhere.

Clearly, Gardevoir had sensed through telepathy that Lin Feng might need its help.

"Loto~ Master, no need to worry about the other two Eevee," Rotom chimed cheerfully. "The daycare just updated the Alliance's mission center. They've already found two of them. Only one is still missing."

"Here, look~"

As it spoke, Rotom projected a holographic screen in front of Lin Feng and Eevee.

At the top, it read: Alliance Mission System.

Below, several posted tasks were listed.

The Alliance created these missions based on different needs of the public, assigning them to Trainers to complete. This not only helped solve city problems but also gave Trainers on their journeys opportunities to earn money.

**Mission #3: The Eevee Daycare recently lost three Eevee. Images below. Among them, #3 and #5 are very friendly, while #9 is shy and afraid of strangers. If found, or if any information is provided, please report immediately. Upon verification, the daycare will give a reward of no less than 5,000 Alliance Coins for each Eevee.

Note: Eevee #3 and #5 have already been recovered.**

Along with the notice were several pictures of the missing Eevee.

One of them was clearly the Eevee right in front of Lin Feng.

Clicking on the mission details, they saw photos of when the other two had been found. Two kind-hearted citizens had noticed the tags on their collars and returned them safely to the daycare.

Seeing this, Lin Feng let out a sigh of relief. He looked at Eevee with a teasing smile.

"Well, no need to worry about your friends. Seems like they were smarter than you. They didn't slip out of their collars and already made it home."

"Bui?"

Eevee's eyes widened in confusion.

Lin Feng turned back to Rotom.

"Send a message to the daycare, let them know the last Eevee is with me. Tell them everything's fine, and I'll return it once the typhoon passes."

"Got it, Master~"

Rotom quickly sent the message.

Within a minute, a video call request came through.

Lin Feng didn't hesitate and had Rotom connect.

On the screen appeared a young man, about twenty-four or twenty-five, wearing a white shirt and glasses. His clean and refined appearance was framed by the sight of a Flareon strolling behind him in the background.

Lin Feng blinked in surprise when he saw him.

"Ethan? Weren't you traveling?"

Back when Lin Feng was a child, he often begged his parents to let him accompany them on supply trips to Wutong City. He would go partly to see more Pokémon, and partly because he wanted to visit the Eevee Daycare.

This young man was Ethan Fang, son of the daycare owner, Mr. Fang.

After Lin Feng's parents disappeared, he stopped going, but he had later heard that Ethan had set out on his Trainer's journey during high school. By now, Ethan had already traveled across two or three different League regions.

As children, the two of them had been close.

Lin Feng used to pester Ethan to let him walk the Eevee together.

And amusingly enough, despite Ethan being five or six years older, because Lin Feng was always so mature-looking and knew more than him, their dynamic had been odd. Ethan had gotten used to calling him "Brother Feng," and it stuck.

Lin Feng remembered him fondly as a bit of a braggart.

"Hahaha! Brother Feng!?"

Ethan was just as surprised to see Lin Feng on the call, but then burst out laughing.

"So it really is you! For a second, when I saw the daycare feed, I thought Uncle Lin had returned. Didn't expect you to inherit your parents' breeding house. That's not like the you I remember!"

"I thought by now you'd already set off on your journey, blazing through every Gym in the Eastern League."

"Uh…"

Lin Feng gave an awkward laugh.

"I only just graduated high school this year…"

Then he quickly asked, "So, you're back looking for Eevee?"

"Oh, right, right! Where's the little one?"
