Chapter 145 - The last part of the ritual

Without further delay, the ritual began.

Master Zu Gushion now wore a solemn expression. A wave of unease had silently taken root within him, and furrows lined his forehead. He took a long, steady breath before speaking:

"This ritual is of utmost importance...for you, and for your spiritual companion. Through it, an unbreakable bond shall be formed.

For centuries, the sacred spiritual beasts have aided us in this rite, particularly during the season of the Peach Blossom.Spirit animals play the biggest role in binding the peach blossom season, so never forget to honor them, especially during peach blossom season. Their purity has never been questioned, for the one whom they accept is forever transformed.

A heart chosen by them no longer strays; it becomes serene, filled with compassion and mercy. That is why every new disciple must bond with their own spiritual beast...so that their soul remains untouched by hatred, sorrow, or the corrupting shadows of the world.

In today's ritual, each of you must first call out the true name of your spiritual beast and summon them into this realm. When they appear, you must bow to them with reverence and then enter a deep meditative state.

Your spiritual beasts shall remain near you throughout this process, shielding you.

This meditation will last for eighteen days. If you are able to endure it, then your spiritual beast shall present you with a sacred sword. It is no ordinary blade.....for when it is drawn from its sheath, your spirit beast shall rise once more to stand by your side."

As the master's voice faded into the tranquil air, all the disciples quietly seated themselves on the grass. One by one, they called the names of their spirit beasts.

And then....like fragments of starlight descending upon the earth.....shimmering spirit animals began to appear in every direction. Ethereal forms of glowing fur and glistening scales stood beside their masters, illuminating the sacred grounds.

With heads bowed in pure respect, the students closed their eyes and slipped into meditation.

Master Zu Gushion took his seat a short distance away, his gaze firm yet watchful. Behind him sat his attending officials and several other instructors, keeping vigilant eyes on the ritual.

All around them, the spirit beasts played, danced, and roamed joyfully across the open plains. The sight was serene....like watching stars waltz across a moonlit meadow.
