Chapter 111 The EndTitle of the Book: Mystery: I jump back and forth between two timelines Author: Half Moon Tiger Chapter word count: 2242 words Update time: 2025-06-29 18:00:00

The silver-black light trembled in the sky, as if angrily denouncing the greed of the gray shadow in front of him. Looking at this scene, Ningluo just laughed and looked at the rapidly changing environment around him:

The constellations in the sky were moving rapidly, and the entire village of Cordu was shaking violently. Everything around was moving towards the center of the church where the few people were.

The affected villagers collapsed silently, most of them flew towards the altar behind Ning Lu, and a few reorganized into different humanoid monsters.

Under the influence of extraordinary power and the collision of objects, the ground bulged and flames gradually ignited from the flammable wooden buildings; flesh and blood gathered, and the church gradually disintegrated into pieces in the process.

It was not until then that Auror woke up from her dream. She looked at Nimrod beside the altar and at Lumian kneeling on the ground, with an indescribable regret in her eyes.

"So..." She murmured to herself: "Brother..."

Aurore's body also flew towards the altar, and gradually broke into pieces of flesh and blood in the air, and combined with the organs of a large number of villagers to form the three-headed, six-armed giant that Lumian had seen in his dream before.

The only difference is that this giant's body is covered with a faint gray mist.

"You finally woke up." Nimrod said calmly to the desperate Lumian in front of him, "My godson."

Lumian opened his mouth and spoke to Nimrod in a hoarse voice:

"Are all my previous efforts meaningless? You already knew my situation and have been hinting to me that the cycle in Koldu Village is not real?"

"But if that's the case, then Aurore, Aurore can't be saved?"

Lumian became more and more excited as he spoke, and his flesh even showed signs of uncontrolled squirming.

"At the end of the last cycle, I told you most of the facts, but you refused to believe it." Nimrod shook his head, and his tone suddenly became stern:

"Stand up! I won't comfort you, nor will I lie to you. In reality, Aurora is already dead, but your efforts are not in vain. As you gradually wake up, the power of the gray mist naturally penetrates into the seal, protecting Aurora's soul fragments."

"As long as there is still a spirit, there is still hope for resurrection. But it is very difficult. Whether relying on oneself or making a deal with God, only by becoming a god can there be hope of completing the soul fragments and resurrecting Auror."

"It is true that you are influenced by many divine powers and are extremely polluted, but are you really so cowardly that you are unwilling to accept reality and need beautiful dreams to protect yourself from collapse?"

"Don't you want to take revenge on those gods who treat you and your sister as pawns? Ha, they do have their own difficulties, but don't you have your own difficulties and despair? Even if you are being used, are you willing to be a machine to 'save the world'?"

"If you don't even have the courage to repay blood with blood, tooth for tooth, what's the point of being a 'hunter'? Becoming a 'witch' is your destiny!"

Listening to Nimrod's sharp words, Lumian's hands gradually clenched, and he bit his lips tightly:

"But, becoming a god?... This is really too much..."

Becoming a god was a fantasy that only existed in his childhood when he had not yet lost his family. It was just a fleeting thought in a child's mind. When he was wandering, such a dream was already quite far away from him.

"You are special enough. This is the only bargaining chip you hold."

Ningluo narrowed his eyes and said mercilessly:

"The gods are using you, and I am using you too. The only difference between me and them is that I will not ask you to save the world. I only ask you to become Sequence Zero of the Hunter Path, and to use the Red Priest as a base to go further on the Extraordinary Path."

"No matter what you want to do along the way, whether it's saving the world or destroying it, it's your own idea. As long as you don't ask me, I won't interfere."

"The gods' use of you is a double-edged sword. While they are using you, they will also give you great help. This is your only chance to sit on the throne. You must know that except for one or two of them, other gods will not have the slightest sympathy for your situation. They will only calculate how much benefit you can bring to them."

"As for how you, as a mortal, can fight against the gods? Remember, I am your godfather. As long as we have the same goal, I will spare no effort to support you."

There is still some human warmth in the heart of the "fool", but it is almost being devoured by the Heavenly Lord.

"As for how to resurrect Aurore - the complete 'Fool' is a path you can choose, and I am also a path you can choose. As long as I can sit on the throne, I can bring Aurore, no, your real sister 'Li Xi' from the past and let her truly be resurrected!"

Please don't forget that Li Xi's soul had not yet been cast down above the "Source Castle" in the past.

If Nimrod could continue to advance steadily on the path to godhood, then it would only be a matter of time before he could bring out the souls in the "Source Castle" area he occupied.

The paradox involving two identical souls will also be solved as the sequence continues to improve.

Lumian's pupils trembled slightly, and he spoke tentatively to Nimrod:

"So, the great being you and that lady believe in is not the same one... Are you His enemy?"

"Of course not." Nimrod smiled and said:

"To me, he and I are more like friends? But I don't know if he still remembers me now. So, don't tell that lady my identity, otherwise I'm afraid she will alienate you and give up on you after weighing the pros and cons."

Lumian immediately realized that there was a deeper reason behind this. He nodded, looked at Nimrod who was walking forward, and subconsciously asked:

"Godfather, where are you going?"

"We'll meet in Trier." Nimrod stopped and said to Lumian:

"I won't show up in front of higher beings. Haha, after all, the way I look now is a bit too hateful."

Both Amon and Tianzun were suspected of stirring up hatred too much, and might even attract a group of foreign gods to hate them. As for how to escape from the angel Xianyu, Ningluo had his own tricks.

"Then how can I contact you?" Lumian asked Nimrod, still a little dazed after the ups and downs he had gone through.

"Remember those four sentences I once told your sister?"

Nimrod turned his head and said to Lumian seriously:

"I'll repeat it again. When you get to Trier and a safe place, place four portions of food around you, walk four steps backwards, and recite these four sentences in the language I taught you. I will be able to come to you with the help of this ritual."

"Fusheng Xuanhuang Immortal Lord, Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianjun, Fusheng Xuanhuang God..."

"Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun."

————

[How come you stole my honorable name? ]

"Shut up, Zunbao!" Ningluo retorted: "Can the work of a thief be called stealing? Do you want to explain why I can't respond to other honorable names and can only respond to your honorable name?"

[coincide.]Chapter 112: Using a clever trick to avoid being a salted fish, the mystery of the thousand tricks is hard to predictTitle of the Book: Mystery: I jump back and forth between two timelines Author: Half Moon Tiger Chapter word count: 2212 words Update time: 2025-06-29 20:30:00

How does Nimrod plan to avoid detection by the angel Xianyu?

It is known that Nimrod was able to ascend to the "Source Castle" in the "Ring Timeline", and Lumian's dream was shattered first under his advancement, and Ms. Salty Fish has not yet reacted.

Then what needs to be done is very simple - hide in "Source Castle", and Xianyu will not be able to find him even if he searches the land of Cordu Village.

Judging from the current situation, Lumian's mental state is better than before because he did not complete the script set by Adam and Amon. Although not much, Nimrod's words, which have a "bewitching" effect, have brought him back a little, and rekindled his hope of resurrecting his sister and taking revenge.

After that, when Lumian sets out on his journey with the help of Fors, he can directly "descend" to Lumian's side - after all, he is the one who ascended the "Source Castle" in his original form, and with the coordinates, he can use the "Transfer Ritual" to go directly to Trier.

As for the traces left by Cordu Village, Fors currently believed that he was an incarnation of Klein. In addition, the self in the dream had the protection of "Source Castle" on him and would not be discovered by Fors outside the dream. The Outer Gods only had some power and symbols that penetrated deep into the dream, making it difficult for them to discover themselves.

In this case, the only ones who could discover him were Grisha Adam, the dual-path true god who was the "Hanged Man" and the "audience", and Klein the "Fool". However, Klein was now being entangled by the Celestial Lord of this timeline, and he had limited energy to spare, so he could only catch a fleeting glimpse.

Therefore, Nimrod could basically confirm that only Adam noticed him, regarded him as a variable that could save the world, and gave him certain help - such as blocking the sight of the gods and giving him a "blessing".

Regardless of whether it was out of the idea of saving the world or out of the idea of keeping Amon secret, Nimrod believed that Adam would not tell other gods about his traces, and at most would tell his son Amon who was now imprisoned on Lumian's chest.

Apart from this world, Amon is the only individual that Adam cares about and prefers. But in order to save this world, Adam is even willing to sacrifice himself, and naturally he is also willing to accept Amon's death.

Why do I feel like I am a "safety net" no matter where I am... Tianzun is also my safety net, and Adam is also my safety net?

Thinking of this, some "ridiculous" thoughts suddenly emerged in Ningluo's mind.

[Who would have thought that the Fool would drain my card pool completely?] Tianzun's voice actually sounded a little depressed: [Being with you is like being in prison, except that I can elbow God... When will you let me out?]

"There will be a chance." Ninglu shook his head and began to recall his experience in the mysterious world last week.

It has only been a day and a half since this time, and it has consumed an extra 9 hours. In this case, will these 9 extra hours affect the time of my next time travel? Will it change the "countdown" on my hand?

These are all things to consider.

After returning to Sefirah Castle, the accumulated fatigue surged into Ningluo's heart. While lying on the gray fog and waiting for the countdown to return to zero, he began to leisurely think about what he had to do in the two timelines of Weird and Loop.

First, there is the mysterious timeline.

After a while, when Mr. Z had taken control of the Aurora Society in Tingen, he would be ready to change his identity and enter Backlund. After all, the identity of Tingen City would still be left to Mr. Z. As for the new identity, it would be gradually perfected through repeated correspondence with the two saints.

Judging from the information currently provided by the Dark Saint, Nimrod's next identity will be that of a wealthy man named Denisus Freed, who once did business in northern cities and abroad and returned to Backlund to start investing in the cultural industry.

With the help of the Dark Saint, most of the past experiences have been disguised and are now being fine-tuned according to Nimrod's extraordinary abilities.

The identity of a wealthy man doing business abroad just fits the eloquent characteristics of the "Thief" path. Because of the existence of the "Dancer" and subsequent sequences, Nimrod asked the Dark Sage to forge an identity with noble blood for him, with an extraordinary item of the "Faceless Man" attached - the nobles are naturally proficient in dance and etiquette. This is both a stereotype and the current situation in Rune.

In this world, although it is ironic, the status of a noble does bring a lot of convenience.

Considering his current cooperation with the Church of Night, the faith of this identity is the "Church of Night". After all, the nobles will be supervised by the church, and choosing the Storm Church is both a blasphemy against the "True Creator" (only for Aurora believers) and equivalent to jumping directly to the true God.

All Nimrod needed to do next was to take the steam train to Backlund. After completing the disguise of his identity, he contacted Mr. A who was in charge of Backlund, and began to transform the Aurora Society in Backlund to speed up the revival of the true Creator.

In addition, the things that Backlund's Aurora Society was currently working on were also brought to Nimrod's attention, including the cooperation with the Witch Cult and the cooperation with the royal family.

But before Nimrod went to Backlund, these collaborations were currently progressing slowly and had to wait until the saint Nimrod arrived before being processed.

In the "Huan Timeline", Nimrod's most important thing is to take Lumian to Trier where angels are everywhere to digest the potion and quickly advance. At the same time, he should give Lumian two bottles of "Assassin" potion, so that Lumian can develop in a balanced way in combat power and spirituality, no, natural disasters and man-made disasters, and combine them into a great disaster.

As for where to get the "Assassin" potion?

Triss was about to escape from the witch sect, and she would most likely contact him. Even if she didn't contact him or didn't have the formula for the potion, it didn't matter. Ningluo remembered that there were still "witches" in Tingen City. When the time came, he would kill one and then communicate with the real creator to help him separate the characteristics.

The countdown finally reached zero.

Nimrod carefully observed his surroundings and opened a small observation window from the "Source Castle" to the bottom, through which he could see the real world. But the next moment, the scene in front of Nimrod began to change rapidly, as if time was passing quickly, and the sun that was originally hanging in the sky fell to the ground in an instant.

After all this happened, the gray mist began to rise from the surroundings little by little. But at this moment, a voice that seemed to come from ancient times suddenly sounded:

"Mysterious."

"You are awake now. We can work together to get out of this predicament."

Is this... God's voice? How did He find "me"? Nimrod's heart moved, and when he was thinking about how to answer, the Heavenly Master beside him spoke excitedly:

[Let me do it! — It probably took advantage of the fact that Adam failed to suppress himself and bought some time to speak.]

Ninglu thought for a moment, then took a step back, allowing the shadow of Tianzun to stand at the observation port.

The dark sunlight seemed to gather there, and Tianzun chuckled and said to God intimately:

"Melissa, let me explain..."

In the living room of the Moretti family, Klein felt his scalp tingling. He looked at Melissa in front of him and explained awkwardly to the little girl who was about to cry:

"The church and I signed a confidentiality agreement, which was witnessed by the Goddess of Night. Even to my family, I cannot reveal information about my work..."

Having said that, Klein took a deep breath:

"Besides, letting you know about this may increase your danger..."

Leonard and Dunn sat on one side. Although Leonard looked pale, he was trying his best to suppress the corners of his mouth. He and Dunn had complicated emotions in their hearts. They smiled slightly when they saw Klein in a panic (only for Leonard), and they were also grateful for surviving the disaster.

Fortunately, no one was in trouble in the end... Otherwise, I might have taken on the task of visiting Klein's family and informing them of his death...

Leonard's thoughts were a little scattered. He was thinking secretly in his heart, when he suddenly noticed a sneer in his ears.

Leonard's cheeks suddenly turned red, and he retorted in his heart with some dissatisfaction: "Old man, why are you laughing at me again - I haven't told you that you lied to me yet!"

"Lie to you? As a thief's angel, isn't it normal for me to lie to you?" Pales said confidently:

"And if it weren't for me, you would have died that night... Tsk, tsk, tsk, are you still thinking that you are the only one who is special and want to take on everything? Which one of Klein and the saint of the Aurora Society doesn't have something special? Is it your turn to show off your abilities?"

Leonard opened his mouth, his face flushed red, and he said in his heart:

"Anyway, you have communicated with the goddess's followers..."

While Leonard was having an intense spiritual exchange with Pales in his mind, Benson, who was sitting next to Klein, sighed and said:

"Klein, I understand you...but for Melissa, this news is a bit too exciting. You know, she almost lost her brother."

"Looking back now, I actually feel a little scared and fortunate." Klein nodded and said with a rather helpless tone:

"In fact, if I hadn't encountered those things at that time, I might be a teacher in a university now; but at that time I was always entangled in extraordinary things, and joining the Nighthawks was the best choice. And you know what happened to Benson, Welch and others..."

But that was for Klein to take the exam. If I were to go, I would definitely fail...

After hearing Klein's words, Benson was silent for a while. After a while, he coughed and looked at Dunn Smith who was sitting beside him:

"Mr. Smith, I want to ask, now that we are involved in an extraordinary incident, what should we do next?"

Dunn glanced at Klein, who was continuing to explain to Melissa, with his deep eyes. He nodded and said to Benson:

"As I said before, you have two choices."

"The first thing is to sign a confidentiality agreement like Klein did. Then continue with your life. At the same time, you must be regularly observed by the Nighthawks to prevent any extraordinary powers from spreading to you."

"But this also means that you cannot leave Tingen City. If you need to leave, you will need to go through cumbersome reporting and approval... Believe me, you don't want to go through this process."

Benson smiled bitterly. The nature of his job determined that he could not choose this option. Benson worked in a trading company and often had to travel.

He is not a middle or senior manager of the company. If he cannot leave Tingen freely, he may lose his job quickly.

Losing their jobs was tantamount to chronic death. Even with Klein supporting the family, how long could they hold on?

Dunn obviously saw the meaning behind Benson's bitter smile. He nodded and said to him in a deep voice:

"After investigation, we fully understand the nature of your work. Moreover, considering that you are all devout believers of the goddess, we recommend that you and your sister accept the second option:"

"Join the Church of Night and become a 'civil servant' of the Nightwatchers."

Benson sat up straighter.

"The Nighthawks in Tingen City will be reorganized," Dunn said to Benson in a deep voice. Melissa's attention was gradually drawn to Dunn, which relieved Klein's pressure a lot.

"Considering that you have not yet joined the church, I will briefly tell you. After this incident, the church will adjust the composition of the Night Watchmen in Tingen City, so we need more clerks to assist in handling affairs."

"Moreover, considering that you are Klein's family, you should also be protected by the church. The wanted criminal is still on the run, and we cannot confirm whether he will take the risk to retaliate against Klein's family. From any perspective, you will be safer under the protection of the church."

Dunn glanced at the somewhat nervous Benson and said, "At the same time, the treatment of the Night Watchmen clerks can refer to the treatment Klein received before. We will also provide you brothers and sisters with some training to ensure that you have a certain ability to protect yourself."

"Considering that Ms. Melissa is still studying, we can allow Melissa to transfer to the church school and work in the church after graduation."

After hearing what Dunn said, Benson was completely moved.

Whether it was the same salary as Klein's at the beginning or the solution to Melissa's study problems, Benson was moved by the solution provided by the church.

However, at this moment, he still felt a little unreal in his heart, because the conditions offered by the church were too good, so good that they seemed unreal. Even Benson, who had received his father's pension, could not believe it.

However, due to the special status of the captain of the Nighthawks and police officer of Tingen City in front of him, he found it difficult to speak up and ask the question that worried him the most.

At this moment, Melissa, who had been listening carefully, frowned and said uncertainly:

"Are the families of the Nighthawks treated so well..."

Dunn smiled and gestured to Leonard to continue his conversation. Leonard immediately understood and spoke faster than his mind:

"Of course not."

Suddenly, four pairs of eyes focused on him, with all kinds of emotions. Leonard took a breath without noticing, and continued:

"For the family members of Nighthawks who are generally involved in extraordinary events, we will have them start as trainee clerks and observe and examine them step by step... But this step has already been completed by other members of the church before, and considering what happened with Klein, you deserve this treatment."

Leonard said seriously:

"Because Klein is the hero of Tingen City."

"We saved Tingen."Chapter 114 "Red Gloves" KleinTitle of the Book: Mystery: I jump back and forth between two timelines Author: Half Moon Tiger Chapter word count: 2183 words Update time: 2025-06-30 20:30:00

Hero... The word hero echoed in the ears of Melissa and Benson. Benson chewed on the word silently in his heart for a while, and finally nodded slowly:

"Mr. Smith, I may need to conduct some...handover with the company I worked for before. You know, outside the church, it is difficult for us to get a perfect job, and these jobs often require us to sign some rather demanding contracts."

Dunn pretended not to hear the hidden compliment in Benson's words, and his tone softened a little:

"You don't need to worry about the contract. We will notify the police station to terminate the contract between you and your original company, and someone will go to negotiate with them."

"I'll have the clerk draft a confidentiality contract and send it to you this afternoon. During this period of time, try not to go out without the company of a Night Watchman. I'm worried that the wanted criminal will come back to take revenge on Klein's family."

In a corner where no one cared, Miss Luo Shan, a clerk who was working overtime today, broke quietly.

After saying that, Dunn glanced at Klein and a faint smile appeared on his face:

"Klein, come to the 'company' this afternoon. The church has finalized your transfer. I won't disturb your family's hard-earned reunion."

Dunn noticed that when he said the word "transfer", Miss Melissa, who was sitting next to Benson and opposite him, trembled slightly. Dunn did not stay here any longer, and soon bowed slightly and left the Moretti family with Leonard.

Klein closed the door, but heard Melissa's voice with some complicated emotions:

"Klein, do you really have to accept the transfer and leave again?"

"I, I know you are the hero of Tingen City, and I know you chose to join the church for us, but I still find it hard to accept - you almost died. Compared to the hero of Tingen City, I hope my brother can be safe..."

Melissa was unable to sleep or eat for several days after learning that Klein was seriously injured. She then underwent several days of interrogation by the church. It was not until yesterday that she saw Klein, whose injuries had fully recovered.

Sister, I also hope to have a peaceful life, but I have been involved in various crises... Klein took a deep breath, sat next to Benson, and said to Melissa:

"Actually, I don't want to leave Tingen either."

"But Captain Dunn, Leonard, and I stopped the wanted criminal at the time. If I continue to stay in Tingen City, I will bring danger to you...Melissa, I also hope that you can be safe and don't want you to be in danger."

The corner of Klein's mouth twitched, and a bright smile appeared on his face:

"Besides, even if I accept the transfer and go to another city, it doesn't mean that I can't come back in the future, right?"

"I have met the archbishop of the church. Maybe I can become a deacon or even a bishop of the Church of Darkness like those gentlemen and ladies. When that happens, I can take you here or go back to Tingen directly."

"Moreover, if I continue to stay here and stop on the path to becoming extraordinary, then if another extraordinary person commits a similar tragedy again one day, I may be powerless to stop it..."

Benson and Melissa already knew some of the things involving the extraordinary world, so they easily accepted Klein's words.

Melissa sighed softly and reached out to straighten Klein's tie, but after struggling for a long time, she just seemed to be pulling it left and right in a slightly anxious manner.

After a long while, Melissa put down her hands and said to Klein seriously:

"Klein, you must be careful..."

Inside the Blackthorn Security Company, Klein slowly walked into Dunn's office.

——In other words, there are no offices now, and the interior of Blackthorn Security Company has not been completely repaired. The office area has only been simply repaired and divided, and a few pairs of desks and chairs that can handle official documents were moved in from outside.

Dunn was sitting on one of the chairs, with Daley Simone sitting next to him, and Leonard was sitting on the other side. When he saw Klein, he patted the chair next to him.

The reason why Dunn and Leonard had to go to Klein's house before was, firstly, because Dunn was indeed the person in charge of the Night Watchmen in Tingen City, and secondly, because...

Now only Daly could be considered a member of Dunn's family, and Leonard had been raised in the church. The only people who might be retaliated by Ince Zangwill were Klein's brother and sister, which was why the two of them took them so seriously.

Klein sighed briefly and sat next to Leonard. His eyes gradually moved upwards and he saw the deacon of the Church of Evernight sitting in the middle of the four people, a senior deacon named "Crestel Cecima" and one of the three giants of the "Red Gloves".

"Dunn, Daly, Leonard, and Klein."

Krestai swept his gaze over the four Nighthawks in front of him one by one, and stayed on Klein for an extra two or three seconds:

"After the church's review, you have made important contributions to the defense of Tingen City, and you have not been contaminated by the evil gods, nor do you have any traces of believing in evil gods. After discussion by 22 archbishops and senior deacons, we announce to you the transfer of Tingen City Night Hunter and the four of you:"

"Since Tingen City has lost the 'Ashes of Saint Selina' and can no longer control the seal behind the Chanis Gate, the Church is transferring the seal to the Cathedral in batches. At the same time, the garrison strength in Tingen City is reduced and the number of Night Watchmen in Tingen City is reduced."

With the loss of Saint Selina's ashes, the seal behind the Chanis Gate lost its greatest suppression and had to be moved to other places before it could continue to be sealed; however, after losing so many seals, according to the "Law of Extraordinary Aggregation", the probability of Tingen City encountering extraordinary events was greatly reduced.

——After all, when the "Servant of Secrets" Arianna came here before, she "cleaned up" the garbage in Tingen City once.

Similarly, the "Nighthawks" themselves also abide by the "Law of Extraordinary Aggregation". When the number of extraordinary people here decreases, the probability of encountering extraordinary events here will also be lower.

Although Klein had anticipated this situation, he still felt a little disappointed.

"And the reward for the four of you is an additional contribution to promotion." Krestai said seriously:

"In addition, the church has decided to give those of you four who have digested the potion a chance to be promoted - that is, the potion rations for Dunn Smith, Leonard Mitchell, and Klein Moretti."

"Daly Simone's promotion will take place after she has fully digested the potion."

"You have one week to adjust to the status and complete the promotion. After one week, you will temporarily join my team and go to Backlund to carry out the pursuit mission. Until one of you is promoted to Sequence Five, you will automatically become an independent new 'Red Gloves' team."Chapter 115 "Seville"Title of the Book: Mystery: I jump back and forth between two timelines Author: Half Moon Tiger Chapter word count: 2473 words Update time: 2025-06-30 22:31:42

As expected... Klein was not surprised to hear about the transfer he was about to accept. He just let out a sigh of relief.

Before this, he had a pretty good guess about the direction of the transfer he might accept.

When the church knew of his peculiarities but still allowed him to continue to perform the duties of the "Night Watcher", they would either transfer him to the cathedral for observation or have him join a "department" where he could be promoted quickly.

The ones who are promoted the fastest in the church are undoubtedly the "Red Gloves" who face the most dangers. Most of them know the "acting method" and can quickly digest potions and accumulate contributions for promotion.

As for why the Church of Evernight chose him, a Nightwatchman with special qualities but not absolute loyalty to the church... Klein guessed that it was most likely related to the rumored "doomsday."

Putting this aside, for Klein, although relying on the Church of Evernight would bring certain restrictions to himself, but referring to Alger, another iron-blooded traitor in the Tarot Club, Klein felt that such restrictions were almost non-existent.

The only restrictions might be that he had to fight for the church and not betray it. But for Klein, this had been his job since he traveled through time, and through his own understanding of the church, Klein also believed that he had no reason to betray the Church of the Night.

Unless the church's actions cross Klein's own moral bottom line, Klein is willing to stay here.

And "rapid promotion" is exactly what Klein needs most at the moment. This is not only because of the sense of urgency when dealing with Ince Zangwill, but more importantly because of the agreement he made with Nimrod. He also hopes to find a way to return to Earth by improving his sequence.

It is always faster to have the support of an official organization than to be a lone ranger collecting potions!

And... Klein and his three teammates solemnly accepted the church's deployment of them, while glancing at Leonard who was grinning foolishly while holding a pair of red gloves.

Since the church has discovered Leonard's problem, there is no reason why it can't discover my own uniqueness. Haha, I'm not like him, thinking that I am the protagonist of the entire world, that I am the only special one... Klein teased Leonard in his heart.

Speaking of which, the last Tarot Club was not officially held. Do I need to explain this to the other two members of the Tarot Club?

Well…I can say that I foiled a conspiracy involving an evil god!

No, it cannot be The Fool who acts personally. The best way is to say "My followers thwarted the conspiracy"!

At that time, we can also cooperate with Ningluo, no, work together to increase the credibility of this matter...

After personally receiving the equipment distributed by Krestel, Klein carefully placed the suitcase containing the equipment at his feet and raised his head:

"Deacon Kresty, I want to know, what mission are we going to carry out next? Is it... to hunt down Ince Zangwill?"

Hearing Klein's serious tone, not only Krestel, but also the three people around him turned their heads to look at him.

Krestai leaned back slightly, and his tone changed from the previous gentleness, and he said seriously:

"You're right, Klein. This is the task we need to devote most of our energy to over the next period of time."

"Ince Zangwill, the defected archbishop, not only took away '0-08', but also nearly caused a disaster involving the evil god in Tingen City, which was extremely harmful. It is not difficult for us to guess that he will definitely not be satisfied with his current status of Sequence 4, and will definitely continue to seek higher sequences."

"You all know the 'Law of the Indestructibility of Beyonder Characteristics', and almost all of the Beyonder Characteristics that Ince Zangwill needs are mastered by the Church. If he wants to advance to Sequence 3, he must use the power of '0-08' and try to hunt down the church's high-ranking officials."

"But even as a Level 0 Sealed Artifact, '0-08' cannot directly decide the fate of a saint, especially the fate of a saint protected by the goddess. Therefore, Ince Zangwill will inevitably collude with various evil god sects to achieve his own goals."

"And in this process he will inevitably create more tragedies and... more sacrifices."

Since Klein and others already knew most of the characteristics of "0-08", Krestel did not deliberately conceal it.

"The church's top brass divined his whereabouts, but Ince Zangwill erased his subsequent movements. Currently, we can only confirm that he is in Backlund."

"And the reason why I chose you is because you are all survivors who prevented his conspiracy once. You are both bait and a sharp knife."

Krestai's tone was solemn:

"I must tell you in advance: the saints in the church are always paying attention to this mission, but once they appear, they will scare Ince Zangwill away, so you need to complete this pursuit mission."

"But even so, this mission is quite dangerous."

"You have the right to refuse this transfer. The church will not take back the reward for you. It will only reorganize you into different Red Gloves teams to minimize the possibility of Ince Zangwill's revenge on you."

There was silence in the makeshift office, but no one said anything to refuse.

Dunn held Daly's hand, while Leonard tilted his head, as if listening to Krestel's words, and Klein...

This mission coincided with what Klein was thinking. He had never planned to escape from the beginning, and he did not intend to let go of Ince Zangwill, the guy who had created so many coincidences and tragedies in Tingen City and almost killed him!

Seeing the performance of the people in front of him, Krestai smiled slightly:

"In that case, we will head to Backlund in seven days. Dunn, during this time, you will need to take over from the remaining Nighthawks and stabilize the situation in Tingen City."

"I will stay here during this period. If you feel that you are ready, you can come to me and ask me to prepare the potion for advancement."

"Of course, if you can't wait and want to apply for promotion right now, that's fine too. The next seven days will allow you to reunite with your family or adjust your status."

"After all, for the next period of time, perhaps a few months, or even a year, it will be difficult for you to come back here."

After hearing what Klein said, he subconsciously raised his head and looked away from Klein and exchanged glances with Leonard.

Klein, who had become the "Joker", felt a slight tingling sensation all over his body, and walked easily towards his home in the soft sunset.

Pushing open the door, Melissa looked at Klein, whose face was filled with smiles, and asked with a little confusion:

"Klein?"

Klein looks very happy... Is he transferred to a less dangerous place? Melissa thought aimlessly in her heart.

At this moment, a fragrance suddenly reached his nose.

It was a brilliant golden color, a bunch of Seville chrysanthemums representing happiness.

"Good news."

Klein stuffed the Seville Chrysanthemum into Melissa's arms with a bright smile, and pulled out three brand new tickets from his arms like a magic trick.

"My transfer has been approved - to Backlund, the Land of Hope, the location of St. Samuel's Church. You don't have to worry about my safety (Note 1). Moreover, the church has given me a week of rest."

"Benson is also planning to change his job. I bought tickets for the day after tomorrow. Shall I take Benson with me to watch this play?"

"I remember that you always wanted to see a play in the theater..."

Klein handed the ticket to Melissa. Melissa took a look subconsciously and saw a few words printed on it:

"The Return of the Count"Chapter 116 Next Stop, BacklundTitle of the Book: Mystery: I jump back and forth between two timelines Author: Half Moon Tiger Chapter word count: 3169 words Update time: 2025-07-01 00:30:00

"Boom, boom, boom."

Klein raised his hand and knocked gently on the door in front of him a few times.

"Klein, you're here."

The person who opened the door was a middle-aged man wearing a white shirt and a black vest with the appearance of a Balam man. He was the teacher Mr. Azik whom Klein knew.

"Mr. Azik." Klein considered his tone. He had already told Mr. Azik about his visit two days ago.

"I have already investigated part of the matter you asked me to do. Besides that, I am here today to say goodbye to you."

Azik's eyes flickered, and he led Klein into his house and into the living room with a fireplace and rocking chair.

"Want one?"

Azik first politely asked Klein if he wanted to enjoy a cigar. After Klein declined, he asked impatiently:

"You're talking about something related to 'my past'? Really?"

Azik's tone was clearly filled with strong excitement, but he still tried his best to control himself. While Klein was thinking about how to start, he suddenly spoke with some doubt:

"Klein, the inconsistencies in your fate seem to have disappeared."

"Yeah…" Klein said with a sigh, and arranged what he was going to say next in his mind:

"Mr. Azik, this is because we solved the mastermind behind this, and the inconsistency in me disappeared. And your life experience... is also closely related to this matter."

Azik's gaze became more focused:

"you say."

A week ago, after becoming the Joker, Klein did not forget Azik, who had helped him before. When he was doing the handover, he noticed a report from the town of Ramde. After climbing up the gray mist he controlled and doing divination, he confirmed that there were clues about Azik's life experience.

After discussing with Nimrod, Klein determined that the headless skeleton in the town of Ramde was most likely the child of Mr. Azik, a member of the Eggers family, a descendant of the "God of Death."

And Nimrod "suspected" that the reason why the skeleton lost its head was because Ince Zangwill needed the help of the descendants of mythical creatures to complete the demigod promotion ceremony of the "God of Death" path.

As for how Ningluo knew about the promotion ceremony of the "God of Death" path, it was an old recipe passed down by the Aurora Society.

"...In other words, you are most likely a descendant of the Eggers family, and one of high status. Perhaps you are... a demigod who has lost his memory." Klein sighed.

"But to be honest, it's hard for me to connect you with a demigod, Mr. Azik."

"I don't remember anything more." Azik's face looked a little ugly, and he said to Klein solemnly:

"But I do feel a familiar... sense of déjà vu, as well as some instinctive pain and anger. Klein, maybe I need to go and see the abandoned castle in person."

"Can you take me there?"

Azik turned his head and asked Klein.

"Of course." Klein naturally had no reason to refuse, and said to him sincerely:

"Mr. Azik, you helped me a lot before, so I am willing to help you find your past."

"Thank you." Azik also expressed his gratitude from the bottom of his heart.

The sun gradually climbed to the center of the sky. After Azik revisited his old place, he recalled some of his experiences. When he got on the carriage back, the sun had already passed directly above the sky, and Azik spoke after a long silence:

"Even though I've said it before, I still feel I need to express my gratitude to you again. Thank you, Klein."

"...This is what I promised you." Klein hesitated for a moment, not understanding why Azik deliberately repeated it again:

"And, as I said before, you helped us a lot when we were tracking down the 'black hand' and gave me some useful advice."

"That's not what I meant." Azik shook his head. "Although you covered up the reason when you told me how you discovered my identity, after I recovered my memory, I can be sure that you are already an official Beyonder…"

Having said this, Azik looked at Klein, who was somewhat speechless, and a rare smile appeared on his face:

"—but that's why I want to thank you."

"As far as I can remember, the official Beyonders don't have a good attitude towards wild Beyonders. And you were able to remember your promise to me and help me find my past life experience after work. For me, this is something worth being grateful for."

"Haha, and just now when I was trying to find the murderer with the help of the blood connection between me and my child, I saw you next to the murderer, fighting with him. Although the reasons are different, for you and me, we now have the same goal."

"We all have to find the man who created this discord in your fate and took away my child's skull."

When Azik said the last sentence, Ryan clearly felt that his temperament had become a little colder and more terrifying, which made Klein feel a little palpitated.

The atmosphere in the carriage was silent for a moment before Azik turned his soft-edged face and looked at Klein with gentle eyes:

"I will leave Tingen City next to search for my past and my memories. You mentioned before that you wanted to say goodbye to me, so what are your plans for the future, Klein?"

"In fact, we have basically determined the location of the mastermind. My next mission is to go to Backlund to hunt down the mastermind." Klein paused.

"I will leave Tingen today, but due to the confidentiality clause, I can't say more... I'm sorry, Mr. Azik."

"I see..."

Azik nodded thoughtfully, took out a copper whistle from his arms, and handed it to Klein:

"Take this with you. After I finish dealing with Tingen's affairs, I will also leave here and head to Backlund."

"...When that time comes, you can use this copper whistle to contact me."

Above the platform, a light plume of steam slowly rose toward the sky. Klein, carrying a thick suitcase in his hand and a smile on his face, walked into the steam train carriage with Leonard.

Leonard still looked like he was not wearing a formal suit, and the box in his hand was twice as big as Klein's. He nudged Klein with his elbow with some difficulty:

"What do you think Backlund will be like?"

"Shouldn't you be more familiar with this than me? 'Poet'!" Klein couldn't help but glance at the out-of-touch Leonard. After the peculiarities in himself and Leonard were exposed, Leonard felt a sense of relaxation all over his body.

Even a little too relaxed.

Deacon Krestai sat in a row with Dunn and Daly, while Klein and Leonard sat together. After all, anyone with a discerning eye could see that Dunn and Daly were in a belated "homosexual phase", and only Deacon Krestai didn't mind sitting with them.

Neither Klein nor Leonard wanted to be the "light bulb".

"'The Land of Hope'..." Leonard curled his lips: "That's what people say outside. I think you will have a different opinion."

"Different opinions?" Klein sat down, with countless thoughts flashing through his mind. He slowly shook his head.

"In fact, I prefer to call it the 'fog city', which is a microcosm of this era."

At this point, Klein secretly sighed. After finishing talking about Mr. Azik, he had not yet had time to communicate with Nimrod through the messenger. He only planned to ask Nimrod when he would come to Backlund after reporting to the Church of the Night in Backlund.

"This is the epitome of this era..."

Leonard sighed after hearing Klein's words. Then, his half-familiar brain lost its connection with poetry again: "I remember a sentence that can well summarize this era. Hmm, how did I put it..."

"[This is the best of times, this is the worst of times.]"

At this moment, a voice came from Leonard's left. Klein and Leonard turned their heads and saw a man sitting by the window of the steam train. He was wearing an elegant black and blue windbreaker and looked to be in his twenties or thirties. He was holding a notebook with a bright red cover.

He has long curly rose-red hair with a hint of blood red at the ends.

"Oh, yes, that's the sentence." Leonard said excitedly, "I remember this is a famous saying of Emperor Roselle..."

"I don't think it's necessary to attribute all the philosophers' words to Roselle."

The man laughed and interrupted Leonard: "I am more inclined to believe that this was said by Dickens, and Russell Gustave just paraphrased this famous quote."

Leonard scratched his head and racked his brains but couldn't remember which "philosopher" the man was referring to. However, Klein's pupils shrank slightly and he spoke tentatively:

"L?"

The person who could say such words must be Nimrod!

He changed his identity and appearance and just caught up with us?

Nimrod's left and right brains fought against each other for a moment:

"moon?"

You are acting out Death Note here... Although Klein had a few black lines on his forehead, he still smiled at Nimrod, while Leonard looked a little confused and said with some doubt:

"Do you know each other?"

"——No, I didn't know him before. I just didn't expect to meet some friends with the same hobbies. Our conversation just now was about the lines derived from a drama story that Russell wrote for his daughter."

Nimrod smiled and extended his hand toward Klein:

"Meet Dinesus Freed, a literary publisher."

Klein reached out his hand and shook Ning Lu's, not forgetting that he was in disguise: "Sherlock Moriarty, a literature lover and detective."

"It's a pity my last name is not Holmes."

Nimrod raised his head and looked meaningfully at the gradually brightening sky:

"Otherwise, it would be too coincidental."

(End of Volume 1)Chapter 117: ReflectionTitle of the Book: Mystery: I jump back and forth between two timelines Author: Half Moon Tiger Chapter word count: 1352 words Update time: 2025-07-01 00:30:00

To be honest, I didn't actually expect to be able to finish the first volume before it's on the shelves.

Yuehu is not a newcomer. He has written several books here and there in the past few years, and a few of them failed (actually, he wrote several books and they all failed). Only the first mysterious fan fiction had any success.

If I think about it carefully, I may indeed have a poor understanding. To this day, I still haven't figured out the rhythm of online writing. I can only continue to figure it out bit by bit, hoping to improve in this book.

Okay, I've vented my grievances here, and now let's summarize this volume.

"The Fire Thief", "Hope is the root of all evil, because it constantly prolongs human suffering." This is the title and preface of this volume. The preface is adapted from Nietzsche's words, and "The Fire Thief" is the core of the whole volume.

The meaning of "Fire Thief" has two levels. The first is that Nimrod digested all the extraordinary characteristics and became a "Fire Thief".

Then there is the way to play the "Fire Thief" mentioned in the previous chapters: whether in the world of the ring or the mysterious world, Nimrod steals the hope of some people and brings hope to others. Nimrod chooses to steal the hope of the wicked, which is the last kindness he can give to this world.

As for the preface "Hope is the root of all evil, for it prolongs human suffering." I chose it after a long time from several sentences that were related to "The Fire Thief". First, I really like this sentence, and second, it fits the tone of the mysterious world.

Hope is temporary, but madness is eternal. In this world, the highest power a civilization can achieve is Sequence One, which stops below uniqueness.

This means that the upper limit of civilization in this world has been locked, just like the upper limit of technology on Earth in The Three-Body Problem. No matter how hard we try, we need to rely on the gods to be saved. Although the Kruskal system is agnostic, this feeling of despair gives me the same feeling as the Kruskal system. Humans are destined to be insignificant, and only by embracing madness can they be saved.

After watching "Fateful Ring", this feeling is even stronger (in fact, when I saw the name, I had a hunch that "Inception 2" would have a bad ending, but I didn't expect it to be a bad ending in another sense). After all, "fate" is roughly equivalent to "the destiny that is bound to come", and it inherently carries a sense of tragedy.

When writing the first volume, I learned from the lessons of the previous books and started writing after finishing the outline of the first volume. Facts have proved that I am not suitable for writing with inspiration. Every time I have an inspiration, I will take the plot in a very abstract direction (this is also recorded in the Secret: High-Dimensional Overlooker).

So when I was writing this time, I actually had some expectations about the length of the first volume, because the approximate weight of the first volume had already been determined when I was writing the outline. After all, the script of Tingen City has been written to death by most fan authors, and there is nothing to write about in the first volume of Suhuan - the double buff of the dream ending + the inability to change it no matter how hard I try makes it difficult for me to write a long story.

However, in contrast, the content of the second volume will be much more comfortable: there are many extraordinary events in the map of Backlund + Trier, and there will be many variables when arranging the plot. Judging from the current outline, the second volume should be more exciting than the first volume.

In order not to spoil the plot, I will just briefly talk about the next development direction:

I will still do some things on a daily basis, and I will also adjust the rhythm of the writing, and try my best to let Ninglu and Tianzun do some big things without being killed by higher-level beings (after all, the mysterious world is really full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers); there will be some tragedies, but I will try my best to make the ending more satisfactory. After all, everyone was stabbed when watching the mysterious, and reading fan fiction is definitely not to be stabbed, right?

I will also make a more reasonable arrangement for the plot of traveling back and forth between the two worlds so that they can play their respective roles.

In addition, Amon and Witch Lo Mein will also appear in this volume.

There is no change! There is no burning winter (funny to say)! But there is a transformation (real).

Before I knew it, I have written more than a thousand words in the final remarks. I will continue to polish the outline. I will have some things to do next week, so I can't update more for the time being. I can only update twice a day - leaving some manuscripts to be uploaded.

And, the title and preface of Volume 2:

Volume 2: "The Ambitious Man".

"Humans are creatures that fear death, but they strive to survive only because they are afraid of death."
